Love Is Sweeter Second Time Around

Days went by, Yiu Chunxiu didn't even noticed that it was already Friday, the day of ball where she would accompany her brother as his date.

Throughout the week, she often went out on a date with Zuo Haoyang. Although Zuo Haoyang proposed to her and she accepted it, nothing was final yet. Their parents were primarily busy with the details of their engagement. They had heard about their plans however neither of their parents wanted them to be involved in the preparation. They said that the two of them should spent time to get to know each other. In the end, she was always with Zuo Haoyang except for the days when he had an appointment.  

Aside from accompanying Zuo Haoyang, she was busy thinking of the reason why Mu Shu was not going with Gao Yishen in the ball. Was there something wrong in their relationship? Or Gao Yishen had something scheduled on that day that was why both of them couldn't attend?

At four in the afternoon, she started to prep herself. She applied light make-up that suited her red dip hem qipao designed with gold and silver embroidered. It was simple yet elegant and noble looking. Perfect for someone from their family.

She heard a knock in the door of her room. She opened it, it was her Brother Chaun.

He was wearing a maroon tuxedo which matched her white qipao. He had a charming smile as he look at her, "Are you ready?"

On his left leg was Yuntian, her son was clinging her brother. Yuntian looked up to Yiu Chaun, "Third Uncle where are you going?" he asked curiously.

She smiled at her son and squatted to Yuntian's level, "Third Uncle and Mom would go to where a.d.u.l.ts gather. Kids aren't allowed there so we can't bring you. Will you wait obediently to mom?"

Yuntian pursed his lips and batted his eyes, "I am grown up already! Can you bring Yuntian with you?"

She chuckled and hugged Yuntian, "Yuntian isn't grown up yet to attend it. We'll have to wait some more time."

Yiu Chunxiu looked at her son who was on the verge of crying. "Then then when Yuntian become older, Yuntian can already go with you?"

She smiled at her son and tried to coax him by carrying him and kissing him, "Yes baby."

Just before Gao Yishen left his office to attend the ball, he received the doc.u.ment regarding Yiu Chunxiu from his assistant. Since he was on hurry, he decided to read the investigation on the way to the Capital's largest convention center.

He scanned through the doc.u.ment, it was detailed report. He discovered somethings he didn't knew before. Just like how she was part of the aristocrat family. He just knew that her parents wanted her to take medicine instead of architecture since her mother was a doctor. He knew that her brother supports her study before but never knew that her brother was a businessman.

They had been together for a year and met each other a year before they've been together yet he didn't realized that he was clueless about her life and background.

He laughed at himself when he thought of it. How could she disclose that information to her when he didn't even told her when they together that he came from Gao Family? Were they even in a relationship before?

He loved her, but it seems like they were only together since they were the same-- disowned by the family because they followed their dreams instead of taking the path their family made for them.

Look at them now, they ended up walking on the path their family prepared for them and perhaps neither of them were happy.

They were happy, if the incident that happened five years ago didn't happened maybe they're still together.

He suddenly remembered what Yiu Chaun said during the party for the two companies collaboration's success, Yiu Chunxiu didn't finished her degree on architecture.

Why?

Was it because she knew he gave up his dreams that she felt that it was unfair for him?

'We'll go down together to hell if we needed to.'

That was their promised before. Although he didn't want to agree with it, he can't do something about Yiu Chunxiu's stubbornness. Nothing could stop that girl when she wanted something.

He wanted to held her again and feel her warmth. If he was given the second chance, he would cherish her however that time wouldn't come anymore.

He needed to repent his sins and he couldn't be happy unless a miracle happen.

Gao Yishen was on deep thought, he didn't even noticed how he had been emitting a cold aura. His chauffeur who was driving the car and assistant who was sitting in the shotgun seat felt their spine shiver. They were afraid that if they look at behind, Gao Yishen would kill them.

The air that surrounds their boss suddenly shifted into a warm one. Just when they were about to rejoiced, the cold and dominating atmosphere inside the car returned. They wanted to leave the car immediately or else they might die of suffocation.

They reached the venue within half an hour even though it felt forever for the his chauffeur and his assistant.

Gao Yishen waited for the passenger door open and when he got out, all the eyes were in him.

He scanned the surrounding, his eyes stopped at the entrance of the hall. A woman wearing a red qipao caught his attention, it was her. He recognized that back, Yiu Chunxiu.

The girl whom he promised to grow old with in harmony.
