Love Is Sweeter Second Time Around

Yiu Chunxiu pursed her lips while her hands clasped together as she was waiting for the pregnancy result. She was nervous to the point that she was slightly trembling inside the hospital.

She took dozen of pregnancy test before she went to the hospital for confirmation. Waiting for minutes seems to be decades. She was scared of the consequences.

She was so sure that her family would disowned her if she was really pregnant, especially her father and grandfather who was very strict in implementing the family rules: no s.e.x before marriage; no gambling, drugs and fights.

She came from a prominent family in the city, everybody knew that they were a family of a military officers so everybody respected them. From her grandparents, down to her elder siblings, they were all officer in military. Even her mother was a doctor who works for military. Aside from her third elder brother who was now a successful businessman, she was the only one who swayed and took fine arts.

She already disobeyed her family's order to become a doctor for military just like her mother. Now if she was really pregnant, she couldn't imagine what her family would do to her.

"Ms. Yiu, I got the results," said the doctor to her. "Based on it, you are one month and two weeks pregnant," The doctor smiled pleasantly at her.

As soon as the doctor announced the results, Yiu Chunxiu tears fell from her eyes, she tried to stop her tears but it flows endlessly. She couldn't control it anymore. She felt so terrified and sad, at the same time she was happy to conceived his child. She didn't know what she really felt, all she know was that she needed to cry.

I'm pregnant but he was now gone.

What should she do now? How would she tell her parents? How would she continue studying?

How would she forget him if she carries his baby?

Yiu Chunxiu continued crying and sobbing. She didn't know what to do, she wanted to scream but it was not like she can do it in the hospital.

The doctor's smiled disappeared, she felt pity for the girl. She was too young and it seems like she has to carry the burden alone, without the child's father or any family members to count on. Although against her belief the doctor still asked, "Do you want to abort the child?"

Yiu Chuxiu stared at the doctor.

Abort the child?

Why didn't she think of this idea earlier?

She pondered for a while. It seems like a good idea but a life would be lost. The baby inside her would died, her and that man's child wouldn't even have a chance to breath and see the world.

No!

She wouldn't want to do such a cruel thing to the innocent baby inside her.

Yiu Chunxiu shook her head tremendously to the doctor, "No. I'll keep the child," then smiled bitterly.

The doctor smiled at the girl, she was young but tough. The doctor gave notes and advices on the do's and don't while pregnant, and prescription on vitamins.

After that Yiu Chunxiu left the hospital however, she didn't know where to go. If she went home, the servants would see puffy eyes and it would probably reached her family that was in the camp. However if she didn't go home for a night, same thing would happen.

Yiu Chunxiu sighed.

She casually walked away from the hospital. Strolling along the sideways. She was walking for a long time and didn't noticed that she already reached the central area of the city where dozens of buildings and malls sits.

On the screen of glass building that displays LED, Yiu Chinxiu saw a news about her child's father, Gao Yishen. He was interviewed by various reporters as he took over Gao International Corporation.

Tears slowly formed into her eyes as she smiled bitterly. She felt suffocated, she was regretting all the things that had happened.

She shouldn't have met him. She shouldn't have fall in love with him.

They just destroyed each other.

Yet..

She wanted to hold her arms once more, she wanted to be in her arms again. Sharing dreams with him, talking about their future and kids.

Their dream to grow old together was impossible now.

As she stared at the LED screen, her phone rang. It was her third elder brother, Yiu Chaun.

She trembled, she didn't know if she should answer the call or not. What if her brother found out she was pregnant? He was on overseas business trip right now, he wouldn't discover right?

Yiu Chunxiu calmed herself before answering the phone.

He wouldn't discover. Don't worry Chunxiu!

"Third elder brother?" Yiu Chunxiu said.

He heard her third elder brother heaved a sigh, "Go home," her brother said in a cold and disappointed tone.

She froze. Her brother wouldn't talked to her like this, he was her closest brother. He always used sweet, calm or joking tone when talking to her.

"Father.." He paused, "he discovered you were pregnant. Nanny Qiao saw dozens of pregnancy test that were all positive in your trash can. She reported it to father. Everyone is at home right now.. Go home."

As his brother told him that everyone already knew that she was pregnant, she couldn't hold her tears anymore. Yiu Chunxiu started sobbing silently and bowed her head to hide her face.

It was rush hour where a lot of workers got out from their work, where students end their classes, few people glanced at the beautiful young lady crying in the middle of the street.

Her third elder brother sensed that her little sister was crying, he heaved a sighed and said with a worried voice, "I'm in an overseas trip so I can't be with you. I'll talk to dad later, okay?"

Yiu Chunxiu nodded as if her third elder brother can see it, "Mmm..."

"We'll eat at your favorite restaurant and shop when I get back. Don't cry and go home," her third elder brother's voice softened. He really spoiler her too much.

"Mmm.. T-thank you Third Elder Brother," she stuttered as she mumbled the words.

"I'll hang up the call. Go home, okay?"

"Mmm.."

Her brother hung up the call. She hailed a taxi and told her their home address. She saw that the driver was stunned, probably because it everybody knew where the mansion of Yiu family was located. She just smiled at the driver and leaned back at seat.

She was not yet ready to reveal it to her family, even she couldn't believed that she was pregnant. How would she even explain it to her family?

She sighed and looked at the window, there was no way to deny it anymore. She should just face it all alone.
