He was different compared to childhood nightmare number one Fatty Lin*, who, although chubby, at least looked decently friendly. Childhood nightmare number two, Xu Jiahui, was completely a delinquent no matter how you looked at him! (*Translator Note: for some reason the author changed his last name this chapter)

He had naturally blondish hair, and was tall and built. He’d glower at anyone who glanced his way, and had a look on his face that said, ‘I’m the king of this world, you are all mere mortals’- ahem! He looked… particularly annoying.

The only thing that made the young Wei Jing feel better was that Fatty Lin and Xu Jiahui didn’t see eye to eye. The two were like gunpowder meets open flame – they combusted at the slightest contact. They frequently had their parents called on by the teachers for fighting each other.

Every time that happened, Wei Jing couldn’t help gloating.

Sigh! There was nothing to be done about it; anyone who sees their bullies miserable would do the same….. so relieving~

“I’m talking to Wei Jing, who are you to butt in? You blond-haired foreign devil.” The fat boy put his hands on his hips, tear marks still clearly visible on his face, and stared fiercely at the boy sitting behind Wei Jing, “Do you want to fight?”

Xu Jiahui hated people calling him a blond-haired foreigner because of his hair color, and angrily slapped the desk as he stood up. “Alright! You and me, 1v1! Whoever’s scared of this is a little dog. Watch me beat you up till you’re looking for your teeth on the floor.”

“Come on.” The little fatty rolled up his sleeves to play the part. Even if he was scared the teacher would call his parents over this, at this point, he couldn’t back out. His dignity as Class 1’s boss was on the line.

The fuse to the bomb, Wei Jing, was completely forgotten and ignored. He sat on the chair and blinked a few times. He felt that since he was an adult now, he couldn’t just watch quietly like he did before; he had to mediate. He didn’t need them to be friends, but at least they had to coexist peacefully!

“…..I brought chocolates, do you guys want some?” The child pulled out the delicately wrapped box of chocolates out from his backpack and unwrapped it in front of the crowd of people, revealing little brown pearls of chocolate each wrapped individually in gold leaf. “They’re really good. My big brother packed them for me.”

The two boys that had been intent on talking down at each other both froze for a second.

The child’s skin was extremely fair, his eyes big and bright, and his features radiated an air of innocence – he looked better than their ‘class flower’, the little belle Ling Dang.

The fat boy subconsciously gulped down his own saliva. He thought to himself, Wei Jing is so pretty, if he brought him out to show off to his friends everyone would envy him. So he coyly unwrapped a chocolate and popped it into his mouth, and even said very politely, “Thank you.”

Xu Jiahui, unhappy that he was beaten by the fatty to it, gave him the side-eye. He was so agitated his ears turned bright red, but kept a reserved and arrogant look on his face as he said, “Seeing as you’re begging me to eat some, I’ll try it – reluctantly.”

He was already an adult at his core, so of course Wei Jing wouldn’t get any inappropriate thoughts from his words. He even grabbed another two chocolates and handed to him, saying, “Here, try some more.”

Xu Jiahui’s face blushed a bright red. He stared at little Wei Jing, dumbstruck, and subconsciously blurted out the words deep at the bottom of his heart, “You look so pretty.”

Wei Jing: “……” Please use ‘handsome’ to describe me, thank you very much.

You really couldn’t blame Xu Jiahui for slipping up. It was mainly because Wei Jing’s normal behavior at school could only be described with three words – the “unapproachable Kaolin Flower”.

They were all classmates with Wei Jing starting from the first grade. When school began, a big fight broke out because of Wei Jing’s pretty face; everyone wanted to sit next to him. Eventually, that seat was taken by Xu Jiahui. At that time, he was still a shy and innocent young child!

All he thought about was how he could make friends with his seatmate, about how they could eat together, attend school together, go to the bathroom together…

Who would’ve thought that Wei Jing would barely talk to him!!!

And so after half a year, Xu Jiahui hadn’t exchanged more than a few sentences with Wei Jing. If it was just this it would have been fine, but somehow in the second half of that year, Wei Jing began actively attending to his new seatmate – a cute girl.

Xu Jiahui brooded for a while, and finally… transformed.
