Law Of Creation

Chapter 72 - The Fall of Xia Family (Part 1)

As she made sure there was no danger lurking around their hiding place, Mingyue went in and camouflage the place.

[Sigh. Even with this overpowered body, the necessary time to escape from underwater ruin is not short. A few hours.]

[It is like running around the border of the Fire Kingdom.] Mingyue finally had a free time to re-organize everything that just happened.

"Sigh. What is happening now. . . "Mingyue mumbled to herself as she was combing her original body's hairs using her thin and slender fingers.

If someone else saw this scene, they would think that an elder sister was pampering her little sister, as no one knew that both of them were the same person.

Mingyue's original body was in a good condition as there was a stable breathing and the overall important organ was working. There was no abnormality on any part of the body, except the paled face.

As she traced every corner of her original body, she found out that her Immortal Soul was not in her original body. In the place of her Immortal Soul was a small fraction of the Immortal Soul, working as the gear to hold the life of her original body.

A cold sweat slid on her forehead as she realized the fortune she had.

If there was no this small fraction in place of the Immortal Soul, she could imagine that this body would lose his life.

But with that, there was another question popped up.

Where is her Immortal Soul?

Shaking her head, Mingyue had another thought.

[No, I cannot think too much about it as there is another priority.]

[Can I return to my original body? Since my sea of consciousness was forced to move, I don't know whether I could reverse that or not.]

"Xiao Jing, can you move your body?" Mingyue asked Xiao Jing.

Mingyue believed that the body she was using should be able to be controlled by Xiao Jing.

Even Mingyue didn't know whether to call the body she was using was her body or Xiao Jing's body.

The reason? It was very obvious, the physical body was the exact same as Mingyue's body in her previous life. If someone said that it was her old body's clone, she might believe it.

Of course, the difference laid in the missing spiritual qi and moon essence in the body. And in exchange, she could replace the spiritual qi with Elemental.

". . . I cannot." Xiao Jing replied after she waited a while.

"Hundred percent? What did you feel when you tried to move your body?" Mingyue's expression turned weird as she rubbed her chin.

"I feel like a spectator, only watching my body moved by itself."

[Hmm. . If this body is Xiao Jing's body in the Moon God Transformation, then why this physical body is the exact carbon copy of my previous body? Is it a coincidence?] Mingyue kept c.a.r.e.s.sing her original body's hairs.

Shaking her head a little, Mingyue just sighed a relief.

[Sigh. Let's think about it later as I will try to return to the original body. Also, Xiao Wu needs some Elemental to recover her condition.] Mingyue closed her eyes.

Xia family's domain, the Fire Kingdom.

The temperature was the highest as it was the peak of the month of the fire, summer.

It was always like this every year. The last ten days of the month, people would feel the tingling sensation as the sun's gaze pierced their skin, their body.

And this year was the same for him, but for the different reason.

"HOLD ON YOUR SHOES!" A desperate voice resounded in the middle of the clash between steel's sounds.

"Aaaaagh!"

"Damn! Do you think I will let you!"

"You damn immoral! How dare all of you to use the commoner as your meatshield!"

"BAAAAAAM!" A sound of the explosion could be heard, accompanied by the shriek and grief of people.

The sound of fighting could be heard from the place he was sitting. Some were the sound of weapon meet with another weapon, and another was the sound of screaming.

Each screams akin to a scratch toward the heart of the weak man. A sign of ageing could be seen from each wrinkle of his face.

Frail body without any strength. His hand tremored each time he moved and lifted his hand.

He didn't know what kind of expression he had, but he could feel anxiousness, sadness, unwillingness, and despair.

He clenched his fist, but he didn't have any strength to do it. His hands were trembling, thus he only closed his eyes.

There was nothing he could do.

He was useless!

Powerless!

Even though he was called as a Guardian, he was nothing more than a weak old man.

Without any strength to lead them.

Without any strength to fight alongside them.

[. . . Why. . . .]

[Sigh. . . How can this event happen?] The man sighed as he was experiencing a deep despair this time. His back showed his loneliness and feebleness as an old man. He only sat on the chair like an elderly spending his last day in the world. In the room filled with many kinds of book, the place full of memories.

The sound of the fight didn't lessen as it was the sign of the fall of his trusted man, his comrade-in-arms, his own family.

Tear by tears flowed on his cheek as another one of his men fell.

He had never tasted this kind of despair, the cruel betrayal, even if he had fought in any kind of doomed situation.

He always fought for his own belief!

He always protected the people, the citizen, this kingdom! His place! His family!

Not even once he had tasted this kind of despair!!!

And now, he was experiencing all of this.

He lost any hope. He felt unwillingness, but his body couldn't fight back.

Everything. . .

He had lost everything. . .

"BAM!"

The door of the room was opened wide as a bunch of warriors rushed inside and encircled the weak and feeble old man, the only person in the room.

The old man didn't bother to open his eyes.

The warriors didn't let down their vigilance as they lift up and pointed their spear at the old man, but the old man didn't spare a glance toward them. They were treated like an air, non-existent.

Even though they felt it was an insult, they held back their temper.

The old man waited for another person to come as if he knew that person would come.

"Tek. . . tek. . . tek. . . tek. . ."

A sound of someone's step resounded. Each of the steps was unhurried and full of leisure as if that person was enjoying each of his steps.

That person's every step went closer toward the old man and he stopped after he was close enough.

That man was a handsome middle-aged man with authoritative air around him. His eyes were sharp as if an eagle preying its target.

". . . Dad." That person greeted the old man. as he was walking closer.

". . . I never remember that I have an animal as my family." The old man replied with sarcasm, but his weak voice revealed his feebleness, his powerlessness.

"No need for the sarcasm. . . Now tell me, where are the other people." That person didn't care that contempt from the old man.

He was here for a reason, and he was almost done. If he wanted to have a perfect result, he had to ask this question.

That person's expression was cold, very cold. It was as if he was looking at a corpse, without any mercy or remorse.

". . . What other people?" The old man smiled as if he was mocking that person. "So, are you the one that sends the assassins to my granddaughter?" The mocking smile on his face disappeared and it was changed with a dignified expression.

The bunch of warriors that had lowered their vigilance after seeing the old man's feebleness felt pressured! They gripped their spear tighter.

'The man that had fought in the front line all of his life!'

'The man that had protected the kingdom for more than fifty years!'

'The man that is trusted by its citizen!'

'The man that instilled fear in the surrounding kingdom!'

'The man that was called as the Kingdom's Protector! Xia Longyu!!!'

The warriors felt a cold sweat on their back as they remembered his real identity! His story! The part of the Fire Kingdom's history!

As if he didn't care about the surrounding's thought, that man chuckled a little, but it didn't cover his pressuring presence.

"Tsk tsk. Why do I have to send an assassin to chase after my own niece? I am not that cruel, Dad." That person replied in mocking gesture.

"Because it is you, it is very possible." Xia Longyu sneered back.

"Even though you have become our prisoner, you are still hard-headed as always. Can't you give me a little face in front of my subordinates?" Sighing a little, that person only shrugged his shoulders as if he didn't care about the Xia Longyu's word.

". . . Sigh. I have told you many times. 'Respect is something given, not received'. If you still didn't understand it, then all the time I have wasted on you alone is useless. Like feeding a bunch of jackals, doing charity to those underserved." Xia Longyu sighed after seeing the cold expression at that person in front of him.

"Even after many times I repeated it to you, you still never understand. We, the Xia family, are the protector of the Fire Kingdom, the citizen of the Fire Kingdom! We are not the Royal Family's dog! XIA WUYI, DO ALL OF THE THINGS I TAUGHT YOU WAS FLUSHED INTO A SH*THOLE!!!!!" Xia Longyu roared at the end of sentences as he couldn't hold his temper.

His whole body trembled as he couldn't hold the burden on his own body. His body had already weakened.

He was no different than a normal old man.

Yes. Xia Wuyi, the first son of Xia Longyu. His very successor, the person that he wanted to hand down the banner of the Xia family, the banner of the citizen, the protector of the weak. The person with the most gift in 'art of war', if compared to other two sons of his.

"Yes, a sh*t should be flushed into a sh*thole. It is the appropriate place, Dad." Xia Wuyi answered with another sneer as he was looking down on the weak Xia Longyu.

"Oh? Then why are you talking with the shit you just mentioned? Want to be sh*tted again?" Xia Longyu's weak body relaxed as he lost his strength. He couldn't lift his hand anymore as if his limb was rotting.

He just leaned all of his body weight toward the chair he was sitting.

"No, no. There is a little misunderstanding, of course. By what I mentioned as shit, doesn't mean it was useless. There are a few usages of a little shit. For example, to prevent another shit popped out. Am I right?" Xia Wuyi answered as a sharp glint flashed in his eyes.

". . . Who?" Xia Longyu's body gradually lost his strength as he couldn't speak as fluent as before.

After he realized that he was poisoned, he knew there were a mole and betrayer. He didn't want to think so, but looking at the person behind Xia Wuyi, Xia Longyu had already given up.

The person behind Xia Wuyi only stood without affecting the conversation between the pair of dad and son.

"Who, you ask? Well, there are a lot of meanings in this simple question. Wait, let me guess. Who is the person behind me? Or maybe, who has betrayed you? Or maybe, who have lost their lives? Ha ha ha. . ." Xia Wuyi chuckled as if he was talking to himself.

"There is no need to think that hard. What I am doing right now is the sake of Xia family. I am returning our trail to the right place, the right position. We will return to be the Fire Kingdom's spearhead. We will glorify the Fire Kingdom itself, unlike you, cowardly turtle! You, who are contented with the current situation of the Fire Kingdom. You, who are contented with the weak Fire Kingdom as we were bullied by the Earth Kingdom. And tell me, who are in the wrong?" Xia Wuyi sneered as he was looking down on Xia Longyu.

[You had the strength! You are capable to guide the late King and the current King, why didn't you guide us! Guide the Fire Kingdom to a brand new era! Make the Fire Kingdom prosper in your hand!]

Xia Wuyi wanted to roar, but he held it inside his heart. It was the reason that he disdained his own father.

That was the reason why he rebelled against his own family! That's why he sold his family as a bargaining chip!

He had to clean his family's name!

He had to bring Xia family to a new light!!!

But when he looked at the weak Xia Longyu, all he saw was only pity in Xia Longyu's eyes.

Yes, it was the pity.

Seeing the pitying look in weak Xia Longyu, Xia Wuyi was swallowed in extreme anger.
