"That's right, Xiao Wu. Keep it up. You are doing it right. You are a fast learner." Mingyue smiled as she was giving a guidance to Xiao Wu while keeping her attention on their chaser too. Mingyue c.a.r.e.s.sed the back of Xiao Wu's neck and Xiao Wu loved it.

If those peoples from Assassin Squad could see Xiao Wu, they would be surprised.

Xiao Wu's movement could be said a bizarre scene. A white deer was running and suddenly its body became blurry, sometimes could be seen, sometimes only its shadow could be seen. Sometime it could be seen but without its presence, sometime it couldn't be seen but the presence was somewhere else. Sometime Xiao Wu would suddenly disappear and appeared at another place. Similar to teleportation, but it was not.

This was the combination of Shadow Step and Frost Step, and this combination technique didn't have any name yet. Unlike the Shadow Step that focused on suppressing the user's presence and moving in the blind spot. And unlike the Frost Step that was focusing on disturbing the enemy's five sense and blocking their perception, this combination technique was more like as an ever-changing movement that was very unpredictable for the enemy. There was no need to disturb the enemy's perception, all that the user needed to do was to make the enemy confused and didn't trust their own perception.

The challenge for Xiao Wu was not the limited Elemental that she was allowed to use, but rather the very minute detail of Elemental that she needed to control. There was no the strongest technique in the world. As long as you could control every minute detail of the technique, that technique could become the strongest.

After Mingyue used the rusty necklace, she immediately taught Xiao Wu the trick of using Shadow Step and Frost Step together. Of course, Mingyue didn't say anything about combination technique, but rather a trick.

"I don't have a definite assurance that we would be able to shake them off. But if you can do this trick, we will definitely able to run away from them."

With that sentence, Xiao Wu immediately became spirited. She tried to follow Mingyue's guidance. At first, there were some problems with her Elemental's detailed control. But it didn't take a long time to master because Xiao Wu had been using the Frost Step since them leaving the Green River City. She could get used to this combination technique in short time.

But, there was a surprise for Mingyue. All of sudden, there was a little movement from inside of her clothes. Mingyue knitted her eyebrow since she was confused.

[What the heck is this? Bug?] At first Mingyue wanted to slap the thing that wriggled inside her clothes. But after remembering her feeble body, she held back her hand and immediately inserted her hand to the inside of her clothes. Found the suspect, she immediately pulled it out.

". . . " Mingyue not only had a surprised expression, but also a relief. She was lucky since she didn't hit this thing. She didn't want to imagine the consequence.

"Chirp?" A black little bird lifted his head and opened his eyes wide for the first time in his life.

Yes, it was Xiao Ming. The little bird that Mingyue had promised to take care. If Mingyue really hit this poor guy, she wouldn't know how to answer the peac.o.c.k in the afterlife.

"Chirp chirp?" The little bird was looking at left and right as if he wanted to fly. But of course, he couldn't flap his wings because he was still a new-born after all. In the end, Xiao Ming struggled and tried to get out of Mingyue's hand.

Mingyue didn't know what to do of this sudden occurrence. Moreover, she couldn't possibly to cover his beak, right? Since his chirping could attract their chaser's attention, she was stressed. But in the end, she didn't do anything since the sound of the sea could cover his chirping.

[Humph, smelly bird, see how I will punish you later after disturbing our escape plan.] Mingyue narrowed her eyes at Xiao Ming as she returned her attention to her plan and made sure to hold Xiao Ming tightly and carefully.

[It should be a celebration for him, but why did you have to wake up at this time? I can't possibly have a celebration in this kind of situation, right?] Mingyue grunted in her mind as she was observing their chaser.

[Hm? As what I thought, hehehe.]

Thanks to the bizarre show of Xiao Wu, even if their chaser was barely keeping their distance, they would move closer or even change their plan. But after seeing the difference formation of the chaser, Mingyue believe it was the latter. Unconsciously, Mingyue smirked evilly.

"Okay. Xiao Wu, Xiao Jing, we will begin the plan shortly." Mingyue gave them the signal as she infused more Elemental into the rusty necklace to completely remove Xiao Ming and her presence.

"Now, Xiao Wu! Use the Doppelganger!" Mingyue said to Xiao Wu as she was smirking at their chaser.

"No!"

The smile on Mingyue's face was frozen. She got an unexpected answer from Xiao Wu.

[Heck! I had the plan, and all you do was only follow my direction! Seriously?]

". . . Why?" Mingyue was frustrated by the sudden antics of Xiao Wu.

"The name is not that dopelthingie." Xiao Wu was sulking. Seriously sulking.

Mingyue couldn't help but face-palming at Xiao Wu's retort. She was tongue-tied.

[Really? That was the reason?]

". . . . Sigh. . . Use Xiao Wu' Number Two. . ." Mingyue said with a weak voice.

The sulking Xiao Wu returned to be cheerful. "Un!"

Suddenly, Xiao Wu's body became blurry, blurrier than before. But not long after, her body returned to normal.

"Done!" Xiao Wu was happily humming.

"Un. Your clone. . . I mean your Number Two had your presence. Even though the presence is a little scattered and unstable around the, er, Number Two, it is a good decoy. At least, I know that they won't be able to recognize it unless they are in a very close range." Mingyue was very uncomfortable with the skill's new name.

Xiao Wu's Number Two, or the formerly Doppelganger, was a skill that createed an illusion with the user's presence. The illusion had no substance since it was made of Elemental. Xiao Wu could make the illusion an almost real body, but that would deplete most of Xiao Wu's Elemental. It was not easy to create a real substance for the illusion. Of course, since it was used as a decoy, the most basic illusion would suffice.

On another side, Xiao Wu's body and presence would gradually disappear. It's not like that Xiao Wu's body really disappeared, but rather she used shadow step and shadow stealth together to remove her presence and blended with the shadow of her surroundings.

As long as the enemy, or in this case the chasers, didn't lock on Xiao Wu's presence, they wouldn't be able to realize the time she swapped position with her Number Two.

"Okay, guide us to the hiding place, Xiao Jing." Mingyue said to Xiao Jing.

"Wooah. . . Look, look, look at that! They are chasing my Number Two! Hahaha!" Xiao Wu was having fun by watching the bunch of chasers was trying to surround the Number Two.

Seeing Xiao Wu was having fun, Mingyue didn't disturb her as she took a look at Xiao Ming, the little bird.

"Chirp chirp. . . Chirp. . ." Xiao Ming was angry when Mingyue was playing with his beak, or so she thought. But seeing a cute reaction from the little bird, Mingyue kept playing with it.

But later Mingyue felt that his reaction was a little extreme. She tried to give him a small amount of Elemental, but Xiao Ming was still doing something that she couldn't understand at all.

In the end, she just continued to play with the little bird since they were not in a bad situation.

Oh well, let me play with him for a while.
