I am placing the sisters + brother here as a reminder.

Nishi Yotsutsuji daughters.

 The first daughter is Asahi (朝日)(Morning sun)(Friendly Athletic,Ponytail

The second daughter is Mahiru (真昼)(Midday)(Independent,Shoulder length bob haircut)

Third daughter named Yuudachi(夕立)(Evening Shower)(Long Hair)

The fourth daughter is Yoru.(夜留)(Night)(Aloof, Shoulder length bangs waved.)

The older brother Souji.(奏時) Btw she is always using (私) from now on.

Also Tokiwa Tenjouin, the weird girl that has the hots for “Asahi” and is a weird smell person. Her sister’s name is Kizami (刻)

Sakadera Shouko,Asahi’s friend. Family is loyal to Tenjouin’s family

And Yonagi Sakura Kojii, the weird rich kid that has this weird fascination for “Yoru” and can tell the sisters apart by the light in their eyes.

Immediately after Mahiru left, I swiftly locked the door, and jumped back onto the bed.

Mahiru shouldn’t be back.

The threat is gone. So I can go back to relaxing to my heart content.

“Ah~. . .It’s the best. . .Pure happiness comes from doing nothing. . .”

My body sagged as I gave myself to the softness of the bed.

My eyes became heavy, as I Iooked towards the ceiling.

I couldn’t completely relax because I was in Yoru’s room, but looking at the ceiling made me feel a bit more calm.

“. . .Ah . .. .That’s why.”

When I looked up, I noticed why. The ceiling of Yoru’s room and mine are identical. 

The color and design are the same.

I never thought about it, because I usually don’t pay attention to people’s ceilings. Not even my own.

But looking up at it makes me feel like I was back in my own room. It’s a bit comforting, isn’t it?

As I thought about it, I slowly tried to close my eyes.

It was at that time.

A faint metallic clattering could be heard from the hallway. It’s at the door knob.

I went on full alert.

However because I was sure that there would be no second visit I was unprepared. I rushed into action by the sudden unlocking, and picked up a novel that was nearby.

“Pardon the intrusions.”

“You’re excused. . .”

The door opened as Yoru and Asahi came in.

Why do you have a master key? Aside from just Asahi, why is my collaborator Yoru here?

Those questions swarmed my mind, but the first thing to do is get them out of here.

I sat up from the bed and glared at them.

“What is it? As you can see, I’m busy studying right now, so if you may, please do your business as fast as possible and leave.”

I have a novel in hand, and I was lying down on a bed. It’s obvious that I’m not studying.

However I can’t just fold right away.

I have to use momentum to have the deception work

“Eh? Are you really saying that in that position? Are you crazy. . ?”

Of course momentum won’t do anything.

I clenched my teeth after I heard Asahi completely shoot it down.

“. . Can I not study in this position? It’s more efficient this way, I’m more comfortable therefore I can absorb more knowledge. So that’s wh-”

“It’s hard to believe that when the book you are holding is upside down.”

“Eh? Uh. . .”

An awkward silence then followed.

. . .S-Still I can’t give up.

“. . .W-Well, I’m just training my brain even more by reading it in a new direction. I can both study and strengthen my brain. Is that not the best way to learn the course material?”

“If you look closely, that’s a novel you are holding. Is it not?”

I reflexively glared at Yoru.

Really, only novels? Why don’t you have at least one or two text books?

“. . .”

Yeah it’s over. She can’t be deceived.

It’s a principle of mine not to make unnecessary resistance when it’s over. Aka throwing in the towel.

So operation eviction is a failure.

I gave a heavy exhale and closed the upside down novel. Then I calmly faced them. Before then Asahi began to speak.

“So, are you actually studying?”

“Yeah. . .About that. . .I was just taking a break.”

“Taking a break?. . .Well if there was a textbook anywhere maybe I’d believe tha- – -”

“ANYWAYS!”

I cut her off and cleared my throat. This can go on forever, so we need to get to the main subject.

“Anyways, why did you guys come. . ? Mahiru was just here, and maybe- – -You haven’t made up yet?”

There was that fight with Mahiru and Yoru, or Yoru acting as me.

She fought as me, and if she tells me they haven’t made up yet. . .well then let’s say we are going to have a chat.

Glaring even harder at her, Yoru jumped up in surprise. She looked panicked and quickly bowed her head.

“No, no, we’ve made up. I’m sorry to worry you.”

“I see. Very good.”

Perhaps with this reconciliation, the problems with my appearance are solved.

Everyone makes mistakes, so surely it won’t hurt my image.

I gently put my hand on my chest in relief. Then I repeated.

“So what brings you guys here? I think I told you guys I couldn’t play because I had to study this week?”

“Yes, but there is one thing I needed to check on.”

“Check on?”

“Yes.”

Asahi said with a nod. She had a bitter grin as she opened her mouth and slowly said.

“Is Yoru-chan, really Yoru-chan?”

“Eh. . .”

A pang of anxiety shot my heart down. My body froze.

W-What? Why? Did you mess up again!?

An impatient Asahi then continued.

“Well, I can’t put my finger on it. However Mahiru thinks so as well, because Yuu-chan has also been different from usual. . .”

“H-Huh. . .”

“So I came here thinking that it might be that she switched with Yoru-chan. So the best way to find out is to talk to them in person.”

It’s done for. She definitely knows. All I could do was give a strained smile.

However Asahi then shrugged and said. “But. . .”

“Some parts seem to be like Yuu-chan and some parts seem to be like Yoru-chan. So I was having a hard time judging our current predicament. . .You have time right now, right? So could we all have a little chat?”

Asahi then proposed.

I thought the cat was out of the bag, but apparently her acting wasn’t too awful to completely expose us.

In other words, I could completely mislead her if my acting as Yoru is good enough.

. . .Good grief, It’s been awhile since I have to be serious about this.

Like a spoiled child, I put my chest out in pride. Just like Yoru.

“Of course. That’s fine. I’ll accept your challenge.”
