But Lucius wasn't on a simple adventure today.

This time, he was doing something that could determine the outcome of his future duel.

So after double checking that all his equipment and supplies were in order, Lucius got up and walked confidently away from the front gates.

Little did he know that a pair of ambiguous eyes were closely watching his every move….

….

The place Lucius was headed to was called the Endless Beast Forest.

It was just slightly north of Sanctuary Academy and the Imperial capital.

The Endless Beast forest near the capital wasn't the entire thing and instead, just a small section of forest that spanned across the entire continent.

Normally it wasn't too dangerous to go into the Endless Beast Forest as long as you stayed on the outskirts and avoided the centre, you wouldn't run into anything too dangerous.

Unfortunately, to achieve the things that Lucius wanted to do, he would have to go in deep into the forest

Normally  for someone as weak as Lucius, this would be utter suicide.

Fortunately, Lucius had a plan.

Since he couldn't beat the beasts, he would simply draw them away!

Although he was roleplaying as an academy student, Lucius didn't forget who he truly was.

He was the leader of the revolutionary army, and as such, fully capable of using the revolutionary army for his own purposes

And as such, when it came to solving this problem, Lucius didn't hesitate to use one of the most important assets of the revolutionary army, beast enticing powder!

Remember, although the revolutionary army called themselves heroes that would bring about a new era, right now they were nothing but domestic terrorists!

And befitting such a terrorist organisation, they would obviously have weapons capable of large-scale destruction and beast enticing powder was just that.

It was a substance capable of attracting beats for thousands of miles and in doing so would inevitably set off a beast tide which would destroy anything in its path.

Even cities could be wiped off the map when it was used.

Fortunately, Lucius wasn't that vicious. Although he was using beast enticing powder. The place he had ordered people to lure the best tide to was deeper into the Forest, not towards human cities.

So the only thing that would face these mad beasts would be even stinger and more crazy beasts.

As for the fate of the beasts that ran into these territories?

Sorry, but someone had to die for his plans to be achieved and it was better that it be beasts than human beings.

To make sure his plan would work properly, Lucius had used his authority as the leader of the revolutionary army to recruit some of the more powerful soldiers yesterday and sent them deep into the forest under the leadership of Camilla to scatter the beast enticing powder and attract away all the beasts.

Although Camilla was only a 3rd class fighter, most of the people he sent were 2nd class and even a few 1st class fighters were sent.

But even then, the mission wouldn't be easy. They were going deep into territories filled with powerful beasts.

If they were truly unlucky, they could end up running into a beast with Master level combat power.

Although a team at the level Lucius sent would be able to survive against a master-level beast, such a fight would definitely be tragic.

Of course, things would have been easier if Lucius just let these strong guards escort him to his desired location, but what he was going to do was something that could greatly increase his power and Lucius didn't want any mistakes to happen.

Besides, when it came  to such a secret, the fewer people that knew about it, the better.

But still, thinking about all the suffering that Camilla would have to go through to ensure the success of this mission, Lucius really felt sorry for his loyal assistant, but it had to be done.

The journey to the endless beast forest wasn't long and Lucius took a mana train to a village not too far from the imperial capital and then walked the remaining distance into the forest.

Lucius walked for several minutes into the forest when he suddenly paused as he drew his sword

'Damn it!'

He knew his ears weren't playing tricks on him! He clearly heard the footsteps of a human being not too far behind him.

Lucius had the faint suspicions that someone had been watching him as early as when he left the academy and even when he got on the mana train, but since those were both places filled with people, he just took it that he was being overly suspicious because his nerves were on edge.

Now he was getting the feeling of being watched in a forest that was devoid of people. Only a fool would fail to realise that something was wrong.

The sound of footsteps only confirmed his suspicions!

"Come out!" Called Lucius

"There's no use hiding. Come out and stop playing your pathetic tricks!"

A few seconds after Lucius said this, some rustling could be heard in the forest a short distance away as an embarrassed figure walked out.

"Huh?"

It's stead of anger or caution Lucius's face was completely covered in shock.

"Veronica, what are you doing over here?"

That's right the suspicious figure following him wasn't Xander's lackey or even the worst case scenario in which it was an imperial spy that he feared so much, it was instead the heroine Veronica Beaumont!"

Veronica had an embattled expression on her face as she

"I-I wanted to check up on you since the duel could be quite dangerous. But when I came to see you, you were leaving the academy."

'Never got the chance to speak? Girl! You followed me from the Academy gates!'

Although Lucius thought like this, he still didn't criticise her out loud.

If such a thing caused his favorability to fall, the losses wouldn't be worth the gains.
