When Lucius saw the description he was excited but the second he saw the price tag, he deflated like a balloon.

Only now did Lucius realise how naive he had been.

With his meagre sum of love points that barely broke through the 1000 mark he actually thought he was rich? Ptui! What a joke!

A broke boy like him could only settle for the cheaper off brand goods.

Scrolling through the store Lucius's eyes landed on another item.

[Eyes of Appraisal] - 200LP

Basic eyes of appraisal that carry the ability to identify most mundane objects although some divine and high rank treasures can't be seen through.

P.S. I know you looked at the Eyes of Eros but couldn't afford them, broke ass, LoL..

Looking at the description, Lucius's mouth twitched but in the end he couldn't say anything.

In the grand scheme of things, he really was broke now. He could just grumble as he bought the eyes of appraisal.

Lucius watched the 200LP disappear from his sight a little heartbroken but the feeling didn't last long as a warm and itchy feeling burst forth from Lucius's eyes.

Lucius wanted to rub them, but he grit his teeth and held in for fear he could disturb the process.

The strange sensation didn't last long before things went back to normal. No, he should say things got even better. It would be hard to even say that his overall eyesight improved. Lucius didn't think that he could see much further than before, but he felt like he could see everything in front of him in higher definition. It was Nothing too grand. Like the difference between 360p and 480p, still low tier but it was an upgrade nonetheless.

Lucius then turned to look at the amulet in his hand and was happy to see a string of text float up in his eyes

[Amulet of the High King (sealed state)]

Strength+2 (sealed)

Endurance+3(sealed)

Like the description said the amulet was currently sealed so it was impossible for someone to enjoy the magic effects it granted that's why even after all these years, Reina still regarded it as a rather useless ancestral treasure.

Fortunately from the know how granted to him from reading the novel and knowing the plot, Lucius knew how to unlock this basic seal.

"Reina, Camilla come over here, I need you to do something important for me"

The two were curious, so didn't ask much before coming to Lucius's side.

Lucius read the novel so that he knew there were two factors in breaking the magic seal on the amulet.

First is the blood of the high king and second is high level mana control to keep the magic of the blood in the internal magic circle.

For the blood of the high king, Lucius didn't have too many worries.

Although the irritable MC unlocked the amulet later, using the blood of another Barbarian tribe.

Since Reina was a descendant of the tribe that the amulet originated from she should still have the blood of the high king flowing through her veins.

The problem came from the high level magic control.

In the novel it was the protagonist that did this step and naturally, since he was the main character of the book, all of his abilities were monstrous. His magic control was no exception.

It was impossible for Reina to have high level magic control.

She grew up as a wild fighter without any period of education. She may be a good fighter, relying only on nothing but pure instinct, but magic wasn't a thing that could rely solely on instinct.

You needed talent and vigorous practice to truly wield mana to a high level.

Of course, there were god-like talents that ignored this principle but Reina clearly didn't have them.

The original Lucius may have had the magic talents and required training to meet the requirements.

But since the original Lucius's soul got blasted to god knows where, those mouthwatering talents have had nothing to do with him.

He didn't even have an ounce of mana flowing in his body right now.

Fortunately, there was still one person who he could rely on in this situation, Camilla.

Although she was nowhere near the original Lucius, she was still an exceptional talent, naturally she had gone through rigourous training and showed high levels of mana manipulation and control.

This should be enough to clear the requirements and unlock the basics of the amulet if the high king.

From what he could guess and the information fed throughout the novel, the amulet was a simple treasure from the high king that was meant to be given to his descendants

The amulet's requirements were never meant to be too hard to unlock. Just a requirement to make sure that truly incompetent descendants don't hold his treasures.

I don't know if it was because of lost knowledge or simply just several generations of incompetent descended but the information to unlock it simply faded away until it reached this point.

The high king never would have guessed that things would eventually get this bad. If he could see the sorry appearance of his descendants, he would probably roll in his grave.

Lucius brought the two girls over and told them about what he was planning to do.

"This amulet we have is no ordinary object. It's a sealed magic treasure." said Lucius

"The way to unlock it has already been found out by me, we need the blood of a barbarian which we can naturally get from Reina but the hardest part would be for the mana fused with the blood of the barbarian to flow inside a certain formation.

Right now, neither I nor Reina have the abilities to fulfil this role."

I know that this will be hard to achieve but I'll be counting on you Camilla.

"No worry, young leader, I will achieve the results with excellent success"

Whilst Camilla was ensuring she could complete the task Lucius assigned, Reina was reeling in shock.
