He had already seen it before but even seeing it again her stats were still enough to impress him.

16 mana was no joke.

If Lucius remembered correctly then at this point Alice hadn't even started to train her mana with proper techniques yet, but even with that, her reserves were still that large. It was almost comical!

If it wasn't for the fact that her traits were specialised in healing and support magic, she would really be a force to be reckoned with.

But just as Lucius had this thought looked towards Alice again and after seeing her sunny smile he could only shake his head.

He knew it from reading the book and he knew it even more after meeting her in person, she was the type of person that couldn't even hurt a fly!

When they first met she was definitely a bit shy and less talkative but after speaking for a while and making friends with her her true personality started to show.

She was a warm and sunny person that almost seemed to carry a pure infectious aura of happiness around her as she smiled all the time.

Lucius wondered if this was what a golden retriever would look like if they ever turned into a human.

Just a person that was kind and smiling all the time.

Now, if such a person was forced to learn attack magic....

Lucius just shook his head as he thought of the terrible outcome.

It would never end well.

As Lucius was having these thoughts he heard Alice's voice once again, forcing him to pay attention once again.

"You said that you two have been travelling before. How did the two of you meet?" Asked Alice curiously.

Lucius and Camilla had already planned for such questions so there were no gaps in their responses.

"We are actually not nobles. We're commoners that were recommended by two separate nobles to join Sanctuary. On my way to join Sanctuary, I happened to pass through the territory of the noble that recommend Camilla so we just decided to travel together instead."

As Lucius explained the full story of his and Camilla's fake backstory, Alice just listened attentively, seemingly enraptured by his little story.

"Wow, you guys are so impressive." Said Alice in amazement

"I can't imagine how talented you would have to be to be recommended by nobles as commoners. I only managed to get into Sanctuary because of the recommendation of my Father. If I wasn't born a noble there was no way I would get such a chance."

Lucius hearing this quickly shook his head.

What a joke!

If a person like her was a fraud then what would that make someone like him who tricked the entire process?

Wouldn't that make him scum worse than a fraud!

Besides If someone as talented as Alice was considered a fraud, how were regular people supposed to survive?

"There's no need to be so humble, Miss Alice." Responded Lucius

"Miss Alice seems to be even more talented than me so I'm sure that even if you weren't noble you would definitely be recommended a place in The Sanctuary."

Camilla at the side was looking at the conversation going on between Alice and Lucius with a confused and worried expression.

"Doesn't it bother you that we're commoners?"

As soon as Camilla's voice sounded out the whole carriage froze for a second.

Camilla also seemed to have realised her words were a little out of place but she just carried on

"Me and Lucius are commoners, people from a completely different class from you and you are a noble you know. Shouldn't breathing the same air much less being in the same carriage make you disgusted if not just a little uncomfortable."

"No, not really." Said Alice with a confused face.

"Sh..Should I be bothered by it?"

Now it was Alice's turn to panic.

She looked at both Lucius and Camilla a little scared, almost as if she had done something wrong.

"Don't worry Alice, you've not done anything wrong."

As Lucius said this he just patted Camilla on the shoulder.

"Remember Camilla, even amongst the nobles there are all sorts of people. Whilst there are a lot of bad nobles there are still a few good and kind nobles as well. These nobles don't care about things like status or noble blood at all. They are good people like the nobles who recommend us."

Despite hearing Lucius's words Camilla was still confused

"Good nobles..." Camilla didn't say much after that and just put her head down in thought.

The concept of good nobles must just be completely alien to her.

Lucius just shook his head.

She was an orphan that had been with the revolutionary army since her childhood.

Her worldview had been purposely twisted and constructed by the revolutionary army to suit their worldviews.

Although they weren't so twisted as to use some unscrupulous means like drugs or magic.

Camilla and many other children like her had been subjected to the classic means of indoctrination, propaganda and brainwashing.

All of her thoughts, desires and actions are just what the revolutionary army would want her to believe.

Looking at it like that, Camilla and all of the other children like her were really pitiful.

As Lucius thought this he stretched out his hand to stroke her head and console her solely out of instinct.

"Y-Young, no, L-Lucius what is this.."

LP+50

Lucius looked down to see Camilla blushing furiously.

Alice who was watching also slightly had her mouth agape as her face also turned completely red.

"Are.. are you two...."

But before Alice could finish her sentence Lucius cut her off.

"No, there is no such thing. Me and Camilla are only friends, that's all."

Although Camilla already was expecting this and had even been prepared to give the exact same answer, hearing those words directly from Lucius's mouth inevitably made her feel a little sad."

'In the eyes of the Young Leader... am I just that, a friend?'

'Shit!' Thought Lucius.
