Harry The Harem Lord-1

Chapter 42 - Another Horcrux!

Harry entered the "Borgin and Burkes" shop. Borgin and Burkes is an antique shop owned by Mr. Borgin and Mr. Burke, hence the name of the shop.

Harry knows it has a shady reputation because it is frequented by those with sinister intents, who are considered dodgy, as well as the greedy and money-minded nature of its founders. That is why he needed to keep his guard up, or he might get cheated by them.

Entering the shop, Harry saw a glass case nearby holding a withered hand on a cushion, a blood-stained pack of cards, and a staring glass eye. Evil-looking masks stared down from the walls, an assortment of human bones lay upon the counter, and rusty, spiked instruments hung from the ceiling.

When Harry looked down from the ceiling, he saw a man was standing in front of him, which didn't come as a surprise to Harry, as he already had sensed his magic power and his sixth sense told him that the owner was no harm to him, but still, Harry didn't lower his guard around him.

"Welcome to my humble shop! How may I help you?" said Borgin with a creepy smile.

"I want to buy a few things," replied Harry while looking around. The answer made Borgin's smile wider. "Of course, do you need suggestions?"

Harry didn't reply as he sensed the familiar dark magic. His heart started beating rapidly. His hard work paid off, as the Horcrux was indeed here! He walked in a particular direction but didn't walk all the way as he didn't want to raise Borgin's suspicion. He stopped at the wooden cabinet. "This looks good; what does this thing do?" Harry had some ideas but he still asked the question to not raise the doubts.

Even more so, Harry knew it was called the Vanishing Cabinet and had a pair which was at Hogwarts!

"Oh yes, this, this one is a special cabinet but is somewhat damaged. The things you want to never see again — everyone has some — you can put here and never see the light of day! Isn't this great? 134 Galleon Gold, and all yours!" said Borgin.

Harry nodded his head, while the head was covered, the movement could still be seen outside. "It is good stuff. I want it to be repaired and I want a manual on how to repair it too, for 65 Galleon Gold, or no deal," said Harry with a firm voice.

He knew it would cost more, but here, he knew that Borgin didn't know the real use of Vanishing Cabinet, so he wanted to lower the price, and as Harry had expected, Borgin was more than happy to accept the deal. He even started repairing the cabinet in fear that Harry would turn down the offer. From the looks of it, Borgin still profited from the deal, but Harry didn't care. He only lowered the price, as this place was at such kind of place where everyone wanted to scam each other, so not to look odd Harry offered half of the price, and which Borgin was more than happy to accept!

Harry bought the Vanishing Cabinet on the spot. It wasn't in his plan, nor did he remember such a thing. The only reason was that the necklace was kept beside it, which Harry could tell was, Horcrux!

Harry couldn't destroy it under Borgin's careful gaze, so to distract him for some time, while he destroyed Horcrux, he bought Vanishing Cabinet, and repairing minor problems would take some time which was more than enough for him to destroy Horcrux!

Harry could have simply bought the necklace, but he didn't, and for good reason too.

First of all, there was a reason why Horcrux was placed here openly for many years, and still, no one took it, and that is, the necklace was cursed on top of being Horcrux!

With a powerful magical sense, Harry could feel one very powerful curse, and three hidden curses beneath it!

So, whoever, even remotely, touches the necklace, would die in just a matter of seconds!

Harry reckons that there might be some hidden mechanism too if someone took away the necklace.

Harry also wanted to delay the information of anyone destroying Horcrux, so he just wanted to keep necklace here, and just destroy Horcrux within!

When Harry saw Borgin delightedly repairing the Cabinet, Harry silently moved near Opal Necklace. He had a spell that could separate Horcrux from the object. Harry moved on to Borgin's blindspot to destroy the Horcrux.

Harry could cast wandless magic, but to destroy this kind of powerful dark magic, he didn't want any mistake. He took out his wand with 4 cores, which allows him to use all property of those four cores!

Harry glanced one last time at Borgin and made sure he wasn't looking at his side, and then placed his wand near Opal Necklace to cast the spell, chant-lessly.

As expected, the screaming soul came out of Opal Necklace, and at the same time, it attacked Harry's mind!

But it was useless, as the system was protecting his mind, but to Harry's surprise, it wasn't mind-attack, as he had expected, it was just memory — a memory of Voldemort himself when he was creating this particular Necklace!

The system saved this memory, so Harry wasn't in a hurry to check it out. He moved away from Opal Necklace and went near Borgin, who was still unaware of anything repairing the Cabinet.

Harry then asked him a question to look normal, "How much longer? I don't have all day, you know!" Which was also true as he later wanted to visit Madame Malkin.

"Ah, not more than 15 minutes, sire!" said Borgin without looking back, as he was already fast enough, and then even sped up to earn that gold early, as it wasn't just a matter of few spells to repair it, but needed a careful and delicate process to repair it.

Harry, in the meantime, started checking Voldemort's memory. This time, Harry learned that he needed to be prepared, to destroy Horcrux, and couldn't be careless like last few times, as Voldemort's life depends on it, so he must have put many thoughts and consideration to it.

Harry also checked Horcrux's progress which was increased and become 3/9 in the mission! He smiles seeing progress there.

Harry then silently started watching Voldemort's memory, in the hope to find some useful information for other Horcruxes!
