Forsaken By Love

The following day, He Lixue woke up at seven in the morning. She quickly washed up, changed her clothes, and packed her things in a small bag that she had gotten from the clothing store the day before.

After packing all her things up, she checked out of the hotel and looked up the location of Fenghuang Real Estate on her smartphone.

The closest store was not far away, and it happened to be the flagship store within the capital.

Unlike the day before, she was moving slowly. From time to time, she would take a rest on a bench to relax and ensure that she was not straining her body.

Many looked at her curiously as they walked by. All of them could see that she was a weak little girl, but they could also see that she had a pair of intelligent and sharp eyes.

It took her three hours to walk to the Fenghuang Real Estate office. As she entered, many looked at her with confusion, some with disdain, and some with pity.

She looked so petite and innocent. She also seemed very clueless and her clothes were cheap. She was someone who just came to look around.

But even so, their task was to be friendly to all customers, and one of the shopping guides went to her side. "Miss, what can we do for you?" the shopping guide asked gently.

"I was told to come here by Lu Nanfeng," He Lixue said as her head was c.o.c.ked slightly. "He told me that this shop would help me find a flat."

The shopping guide's eyes widened in shock, and she quickly held her breath, as she asked, "May I be so presumptuous and ask what your name is?"

"He Lixue."

"Miss He, please wait a moment while I go get the Manager."

The shopping guides were now looking at her with shock. They had all heard the manager was called to the main office of the Fenghuang Group yesterday afternoon, and that he had to help a friend of Lu Nanfeng find a flat.

Lu Nanfeng had even decided on the flat and the price; it was clear that they were good friends.

The manager had warned them all to be immensely polite to this person. He even gave her name to every member in every Fenghuang branch within the capital, just to make sure she did not suffer any grievances.

When the manager heard that He Lixue had come to their store, he suddenly felt relieved. He had imagined many different scenarios in his mind, but now he could finally relax.

"Miss He!" the manager said politely as he came out from the back of the store.

"CEO Lu has already prepared your flat for you; please check if it is acceptable."

He Lixue was shocked. This was not what she had asked for, but thinking about how he had helped her so many times, she was not going to say no thank you.

"It is a flat in the Golden River District; there we have the Golden River Estates. These estates are developed by our Fenghuang Real Estate corporation, a corporation under the Fenghuang group.

"The flat has two bedrooms, where one of them is ensuite. Another bathroom is also present in the flat, and it also has a large sitting room, a kitchen, an entrance hall, and a balcony. It is ninety-seven square meters big."

He Lixue listened, but she frowned. She would never be able to pay the deposit for this place.

"The place is already fully furnished, and all you need is your daily necessities. The furniture belongs to you after moving in. When you move away, you can choose to throw it all away, or you can choose to bring it with you.

"As for the rent. Because you are a friend of our CEO, we will give you a significant discount. You will need to pay five thousand yuan a month for the rent, and the deposit of five thousand yuan.

"The contract is not limited by a specific time. Instead, you can live there as long as you wish, and only have to tell us three months before moving out."

He Lixue finally knew that Lu Nanfeng was up to no good again. She did not know about the Golden River Estate, but she could imagine that it was nowhere near that cheap.

Still, she just noted down his kindness and decided to help him in return.

"That sounds good," He Lixue nodded her head and accepted the offer gracefully.

After staying in the shop for an hour and a half, she left with a set of keys. The flat was ready to be moved into. Since the manager knew she was going to move into this flat, he had already found someone to clean it, so that all she needed was to sign the contract.

Hailing a taxi, He Lixue went to the Golden River Estate, and when she arrived, she found that it was not a place to be belittled. It was guarded and had a high wall surrounding it. Only those who had permission could enter.

As she left the taxi, she quickly paid the fare before she went to the security guard.

"Miss, who are you visiting?" The stoic guard asked politely, and He Lixue swiftly took out the copy of the contract.

"I am moving in," she said as she handed the copy to him. He quickly accepted it, read through it, and he let her through. The entire Golden River Estate had belonged to the Fenghuang Real Estate company, so he was familiar with the contracts. But only a handful were up for rent, the majority of the flats and maisonettes had been sold.
