Forsaken By Love

Previously, Lu Nanfeng had felt as if all colors had vanished from his life. Without He Lixue by his side, everything was dull and uncomfortable, but now he suddenly felt as if there was a chance to regain those colors that had once been lost.

He had already known that He Lixue held an essential place in his heart before this, but it was not before now that he realized just how important this position was.

Without her by his side, his life was devoid of happiness. He never thought that just a single person could make him feel such emotions, but now he realized that she was the one he had been waiting for all his life.

Lu Nanfeng looked at Wen Sihan, his eyes betraying his eagerness, and his body trembled slightly in excitement. As long as he knew where He Lixue was, he had faith in being able to rescue her.

Wen Sihan looked at Lu Nanfeng as well, and he sighed. "This is not as simple as you might think." He could not help but warn Lu Nanfeng. "While we have located her, she is in a base of the Organization, and the security has doubled multiple times over the last couple of days. 

"I have an assumption that someone very important has visited, and while we do have some people willing to go into the base, I doubt that they will be able to come back out again.

"Not to mention, He Lixue is currently in their hands. If we pressure them, then they might do something irreversible. I understand that you want to get her back, but you do not want to put her in danger, right?" 

Lu Nanfeng's eyes turned dark as he was struggling with his inner feelings. He wanted nothing more than to hurry towards the base, bring all his men, and release He Lixue, but he knew that it was risky. If they tried to harm her, he would not be in a position to stop them.

"Keep an eye on every movement made by them, the moment they let He Lixue out, we will act!"

Although they had imprisoned He Lixue in the base for now, they could not keep her there for the rest of her life. As such, they did not doubt that she would be relocated at some point; the question was just how long it would take.

While both Wen Sihan and Lu Nanfeng positioned people around the base of the Organization, He Lixue was back in her room, deep in thought about what exactly she could do. 

She had lost her patience with Mo Yunhuang. Even when she had said her real thoughts to him, he had not even considered her opinion. It was clear that to him, it was enough as long as she was his possession. There was no need for him to care about her thoughts.

He Lixue could feel that Mo Yunhuang thought differently about her than other women. Anyone who had betrayed their Organization had only one end, which was death, but she was not dead, and he did not seem to have any interest in killing her.

She did not think that he loved her, as love was different from his feeling of possession. Even so, as long as she held a special place in Mo Yunhuang's heart, she would be able to push the boundaries until a gap would appear in the defense, and then she could slip away.

He Lixue went to the door. She hesitated for a moment before slowly opening it, only to see that there was no one guarding outside the door. 

She could not help but frown. They had been so careful up until now, so why would she suddenly be capable of escaping without anyone noticing? 

Little did she know that Lu Nanfeng had made his move to cause havoc in the village above ground.

Every guard and person who was currently free had rushed to the side to contain the danger and ensure that nothing could threaten Mo Yunhuang, and it just so happened to be at the same time that He Lixue tried leaving.

She had all her senses on high alert, she was trying to hear every single sound around her, trying to hear if someone was coming her way, but nothing could be heard. 

She had not remembered how she came into the underground base, but she could remember what way she had been led when she was sent to see Mo Yunhuang, and thus she turned the opposite direction and began to make her way through the empty corridors and halls. 

She could not help but frown. The base was supposed to be on high alert, but there was not a soul in sight. This did not seem like the way that the Organization used to act, so how could it be possible for everything to suddenly change? 

Although she was puzzled, she did not stop to consider it. This was her chance to escape, and every door and escape route was open, so she quickly headed towards a big heavy metal door that worked as the gate between the inner and outer part of the branch. 

Luckily she was inside. The door could only be opened from the inside, towards the outside, so she hurried to open it, only to be shocked by what she saw outside. 

A group of people had gathered at the door, waiting for it to open, but when they saw He Lixue being the one to open it, they were also shocked.

"Are you... He Lixue?" One of them asked, and He Lixue frowned when she saw them. She did not know them.

"Lu Nanfeng sent us to get you."
