Forsaken By Love

He Lixue nodded her head and sighed. "Thank you." 

The thank you was heartfelt and sincere. She was genuinely grateful for having met Lu Nanfeng. Although she was not who he had thought she was, he was still standing by her side without hesitation. 

Even when he knew that the one they were up against was the Organization, then he still helped her deal with them.

He Lixue was aware that while the Organization was unable to deal with Lu Nanfeng, he also needed to pay a certain, and very high, price if he wanted to deal with them.

"Don't do too much," He Lixue finally said with a low voice. "I don't want you to suffer any backlash because of me."

Lu Nanfeng could hear that she was worried about him, and his heart softened. "Don't worry," he assured her, "I have a sense of proportion."

He Lixue nodded her head, and said with a soft voice, "yeah."

The two were silent, none of them spoke, but it was not awkward, but comfortable. 

"I can't make trouble for the Organization," He Lixue said with a sigh. Even though she had the ability to destroy them, she was not going to do it. She owed her teacher too much. 

"Don't worry, I will not make too much trouble," Lu Nanfeng promised, but he felt slightly uncomfortable. He wanted to know about everything about He Lixue, but it seemed that she had a whole lifetime he had no idea about. 

"When I get home, you have to tell me about your past life," he suddenly said, taking He Lixue by surprise, but she quickly agreed. "I will tell you everything, if you want to hear it."

"Take a nap, I will call you again later," Lu Nanfeng promised, and He Lixue, who had just spent a long time and a lot of effort hacking, followed by the emotional rollercoaster ride of telling him her real identity was actually feeling quite tired.

She cleared all traces of having used the laptop, ensured that no one would be able to counter-track her, and she left the study room.

She walked around in the mansion for some time, unsure of where to go, when Housekeeper Jin came to greet her.

"Follow me to the master bedroom. Young Master already instructed me to change the bedding so that you can sleep there."

While He Lixue did not overthink, Housekeeper Jin could not help but look at her a few times. His Young Master hated sharing anything with others, and while he did not have mysophobia, he still disliked dirt and germs. Now he had ordered a small girl to sleep in his bed. Clearly, she was much more important to him than any other young woman.

Even when Young Master was dating Miss Lin Xulian things were different. She was not even allowed into his bedroom, but this woman could sleep on his bed!

Housekeeper Jin could not help but look at her a few extra times, looking at her yawning by his side; she was quite lovable and young, but what was special about her? How could she ensnare their Young Master so completely? 

He Lixue did not notice that she was being observed. She was exhausted after hacking and telling her secret, and right now, she could only want a soft bed where she could collapse and sleep.

As they reached the master bedroom, Housekeeper Jin opened the door and gestured for He Lixue to enter. 

The color scheme used was dark grey, and most furniture was black. It was fresh and slightly cold. There was no extra in the room, but He Lixue did not have time to examine in detail.

She slowly moved towards the bed, dropped her slippers, and climbed under the blankets. As soon as her head landed on the cloud-like pillow, a sigh of comfort escaped her lips, and she fell into a deep slumber. 

Housekeeper Jin was dumbfounded. The woman climbed into bed just like that? Did she not have any curiosity about the room? Did she not have any questions? Was she just going to sleep? 

Housekeeper Jin felt that his world was turned upside down. Why was she not curious about Lu Nanfeng's bedroom at all? Had this woman not done everything in her power to hook him, so shouldn't she try and understand him better? 

It was not before now that he began understanding what Lu Nanfeng had meant when he said that He Lixue was a unique person, and that no one else in the world was like her. 

Maybe she had not tried to hook Lu Nanfeng for his money, but actually liked him for who he was? 

When that thought landed in Housekeeper Jin's mind, he was suddenly enlightened. His Master was not an idiot. He would not be hooked unless the woman truly cared about him, and seeing her actions, which were polite but not humble, he understood the truth.

Knowing that He Lixue and Lu Nanfeng were together because they liked each other, and not because of any other reason, Housekeeper Jin felt gratified. He instantly changed his opinion and the way he was acting towards He Lixue.

He had not been rude to her before, but he had not been overly friendly either. Now that he understood that this woman was actually true to Lu Nanfeng, his attitude changed. 

Housekeeper Jin had seen Lu Nanfeng grow up, and he had a great feeling of affection for him. He had initially hoped that Lu Nanfeng and Lin Xulian would be a great couple, but after understanding the ins and outs of their relationship, he detested Lin Xulian. 

Lu Nanfeng deserved much better, and it seemed that he had found his one true love now.
