Forsaken By Love

The two hours went by in a flash. Everyone was shocked beyond words while observing He Lixue's actions. The firewall she was creating was simply made in an innovative way, that they would never have thought of, and it was clear to all that it would not be easy to take down at all.

When they finished, Wang Jingshen was given the task of trying to bypass the firewall, he managed to penetrate the one made by Yang Shirou quite quickly as it was created by the same methods as the ones they used at the company, but when it came to He Lixue's, he was stuck.

Seeing that a long time passed, and that it was time for them to get off from work, but that he had still not cracked it, the others decided to stay overtime and try to see if they were able to get through it.

The people who worked in IT Security were all immensely eccentric and dedicated to their jobs. Since they had found something that was different from their usual firewall, they were intrigued and wanted to try their own hands at it.

But no matter how much they tried, they could not break down the firewall. It was simply impossible for them to get through.

Eventually, when the time was half-past nine in the evening, Manager Mo finally informed them all that they had to go home. Many left unwillingly, but He Lixue was relieved. She really wanted to go back and get some rest.

She was still physically weak, and it was a challenge for her to be out every day.

Manager Mo seemed to notice the exhaustion on her face and that she was extremely pale, and he suddenly felt fear. Lu Nanfeng had already warned him not to give her too much work out of fear for her not being able to handle it, but now she was so exhausted that her body was swaying. He felt immensely guilty but also fearful. If Lu Nanfeng saw her like this, he would be in serious trouble.

Lu Nanfeng was working overtime that night. He had his assistant work together with him and had asked him to check up on the IT Security Department a few times, but they had not left even when he was done with work.

He knew that everyone else in the company had long since clocked out, so he headed towards the IT Security Department.

At this point in time, many had also left the IT Security Department, but the most energetic and eccentric ones were still left.

Amongst these were He Lixue. Not because she was interested in staying, but because the others simply wouldn't let her leave. They kept asking her questions about the code she had written, all of them feeling that she had opened the door to a new and novel world.

By the time Manager Mo noticed her tired face, he was about to make them all leave, but at this point in time, Lu Nanfeng walked inside.

His eyes scanned the room before his eyes landed on He Lixue's exhausted face, and he felt terrible. Why was she working so late, when she was still so weak.

"Let me take you home," he said to He Lixue, and looked at her with worry, his words were not low, everyone in the room heard them and lifted their heads when they recognized the voice as belonging to their big boss.

"Thanks," He Lixue nodded her head obediently. By now, the two women in the apartment had left long ago, and only a handful were present in the room, but the handful that were left were all shocked.

So Manager Mo had handpicked the girl, but her relationship with the big boss was so good!

Lu Nanfeng turned around and looked at the handful of people who were staring at him and He Lixue, and he said with a casual voice, "I do not want to hear any rumors about my and Lixue's relationship. She wants to manage on her own in the company, so I will not interfere, but don't bully her."

The people present nodded their heads like chicken pecking rice, their hearts swelling with fear and reverence.

Initially, they had somewhat felt that Yang Shirou had been correct in fearing that He Lixue did not suit their workplace, but after seeing her performance today, they knew she was a true master.

At the same time, she had connections with their big boss! This was not a woman to be belittled, and from looking at the way Lu Nanfeng was looking at He Lixue, it seemed he pampered her a lot.

It was hard to say what kind of relationship the two of them had, but it was evident that she was important to him.

Since he had warned them not to tell anyone about their relationship, the people looked at one another with confusion, and then they looked at Manager Mo, the only person present who did not seem shocked by what he had seen.

From this, they could guess that he already knew about their relationship.

Although all of them were curious and loved to gossip, none of them dared to gossip about their boss, so they all clocked out and returned home. They would spend more time on the firewall the following day, and hopefully, they could convince He Lixue to show them in detail how it was made.

The ones from the programming group were already eager to try and implement the innovative thinking into their own systems. They believed they could improve their performance by doing this.
