Forsaken By Love

The following day began like any other. Lu Nanfeng and He Lixue woke up, their mood was much better than it had been the day before. 

Lu Nanfeng had been in a foul mood due to the acts of He Huiling, and so had He Lixue. They both understood that they could no longer give them an inch as they would try to take a mile. 

Although they had previously not been in a hurry to end the He family, their mindset had changed. They wanted to get rid of those annoying flies as soon as possible, and they were in sync with this thought. 

He Lixue went to Imperial University. She focused on her studies as any other day and spent her free time creating the game app that she had started. 

It seemed as if this was but another usual day to He Lixue, she was focused on her own things, but in reality, she was thinking about how to deal with He Huiling. Should she ignore her code of conduct and use her skills to end the He family once and for all? 

She sighed. She knew that if she stepped onto that road with her new life, it would be hard to walk out again, so it was better to take it slow and see what would happen in the future. 

She also knew that Lu Nanfeng was not going to let them go. He Huiling had truly touched his bottom line and caused him to be livid with anger. 

As such, he would make a move against the He family. In fact, he had begun moving some time ago, and everyone was already cautious when dealing with them by now, but it was not enough for Lu Nanfeng. He was going to utterly destroy them.

Time flowed like water and soon a week had passed. During this week, He Weiling and his family were getting more and more panicked and uncomfortable.

All the businesses under their hand had problems, some had issues with cash flow, others had disputes with contracts that were going awry, but none of them were running smoothly.

Lu Nanfeng was putting pressure on all He Weiling's companies. He was so ruthless that they had not even been able to salvage the slightest benefit. Even if someone was interested in working with the He family, Lu Nanfeng would offer much better terms. People were flocking to the Fenghuang Corporation.

As a result, He Weiling got grey hair and began feeling old. He knew that they had done the wrong thing by stepping on Lu Nanfeng's bottom line, but it was too late to change anything now. He could not even give away his daughter as a token of apology since Lu Nanfeng was unwilling to accept her.

Lu Nanfeng smiled slightly when he read the information handed to him by his secretary. According to his estimation, they would not be able to hang on for much longer. 

At the same time, He Lixue decided to start gathering proof regarding her parent's accident. 

She had decided against hacking the He family's accounts and emptying them. Instead, she decided to find out whether or not their death had indeed been an accident or a murder, and the more she dug into the traces left behind that year, the more stern her expression became.

Her uncle had not hidden his tracks as well as he had thought, and after merely three days of investigation, He Lixue had managed to get enough evidence for her uncle and aunt's involvement in the death of her parents.

She took the pieces of evidence she had found and went to locate Lu Nanfeng. Upon seeing these pieces of evidence, his face turned solemn, and his eyes were full of fury.

He took over and contacted the most outstanding prosecutor within the entire country. Upon seeing the proof, the prosecutor was aware that this was a failsafe case, and he took it gladly. 

Especially since winning this case would significantly boost his reputation. 

He went to start the court proceedings after organizing up all the evidence he had gotten before he began preparing to face off against the He family's defender.

He Weiling had been feeling like a small ship in a storm, unable to determine the direction he should move, and with no power to resist. 

This feeling became further enhanced when he received the court's summons that he was seen as a suspect of murder.

He instantly knew what case it was about, and his face lost all blood. He had thought that he had hidden everything and that it would never see the light of day, but he was inexperienced and made many mistakes, resulting in everything coming back to bite him now.

It was not only him who was called in, his wife was equally deemed a suspect, and the two of them had no choice but to put down everything at their hands and hire a good lawyer to lead the case for them.

It did not take long before the day of the trial appeared, and everyone went to the courthouse; some were worried, some held hopeful expressions, but the He family was aware that this would change their lives forever. 

The news reporters had gotten wind of the court session, but no one was allowed into the courtroom, apart from the participating members of the case. 

As such, the newspapers were waiting outside with bated breath, and upon the doors opening, they saw that He Lixue was coming out, her hand on Lu Nanfeng's arm and her face expressionless. 

"Miss He, did your uncle and aunt kill your parents?" one of the journalists asked, and He Lixue glanced at him before she said. "The police will send out a press release later." 

Having said this, He Lixue walked past them, and the reporters stood frozen on the stairs, looking lost. What was the result of the case? 

He Lixue said nothing, but a satisfied gleam appeared in her eyes, as she felt relief. Her parents had been avenged, and while He Huiling was still there to inherit the He Corporation, with Lu Nanfeng pressuring it, it would not last long either.

The He family was done for, and this time they had no chance of rising ever again.
