Chapter -11 - What Is A Seraphin?

'This is an Auxiliary Chapter made to go into further details on the concept of what a Seraphin is, as well as to get rid of misconceptions that some people have. This will have spoilers in it. As such it is recommended that you read-only if you are caught up with the story, or have at least finished Volume Two. You have been warned.'

The Monsterfication...

An Attribute known only for its cause of war, death, and destruction. This Attribute is very infamous...

Nobody knows where it came from exactly. What genetic evolution made it. The only theory is that the ability came from the Children of God. A power coming from God himself, designed to create war in this world that requires it to live.

The Monsterfication is a powerful ability able to make new mass, or add onto mass, at a cost of sanity, and stamina. It uses a tremendous amount of stamina to use, making them tired fairly quickly, but in turn they can regrow flesh, make more blood, add new organs, and bones, and increase their muscle mass. Anything in the body they can remake, or add onto. This even allows them to make extra limbs, and bones on their body.

On top of this the Monsterfication, effects the user in other ways. For one. Their Equation Of Life. When ever a person activates their Mantra they gain a White Aura. But if you posses the Monsterfication you gain a blue aura. The second is when you let your power flow your silver hair becomes a dark blue, and your silver eyes, becoming a monstrous yellow.

It is thought that this happens due to the relation with God. God was said to have Blue aura, as well as have blue hair, and yellow eyes, when he got serious.

The Monsterfication first appeared in Age 972. By Age 1000 they became something to be feared...

It wasn't long before Humanity figured out how to weaponize it...

At Age 1106 a man named Ilya Ivanov made the first of many horrible experiments. One of these experiments stood out from the others. An experiment known as Project Seraphin... An Experiment to make a Human Monster.

At its base point Project Seraphin involves give a person three Attributes inside of their body. Their base power, the Monsterfication, and one extra ability. If all goes well the use will survive and gain access to incredible, yet risky powers, that may or may not drive them insane and cause them to break down. If it goes wrong... Well the cells within their body multiply at an incredible rate, and they will quickly explode into a gory mess, that will then bubble up, and break away into nothing leaving not even a single fell behind.

On average only about 1% of each Seraphin actually works. Most die, or snap, and go insane, which usually leads to death anyways.

The way this procedure works is a bit complicated. First of all, the Host you wish to turn into a Seraphin, must have four things. The first is a Strong Will to live. A Will that can try to hold the powers back. Without that Will, they'll quickly give up, and the power will instantly go out of control and kill them. The second thing they need is a compatible Attribute. An ability that the Monsterfication can be fooled into thinking, belongs to them. This will cause the ability to try and latch onto it. The third thing that is needed, is a specific disease. A disease known as Mantra Sickness. A rare disease found in Mentally Scarred childrens, who have been brought near the brink of death over and over again. And the last thing. The Host has to be young. A m.a.t.u.r.ed body can not learn to accept the ability. Thanks to their Equation Of Life being broken from the Mantra Sickness, their body will be stuck in a state of immaturity not able to evolve. This Attribute will force them to be cured.

If all these things are found in a Host, then the process will work, and they can begin the process of becoming a Seraphin.

This is done by taking a user with the Monsterfication, and literally cutting them open, and harvesting their organs.

Usually this results in the Monsterfication-Users death, but a man named Doctor Hyde figured out how to keep their body stable, until their Organs regrow. This allows him to cut up the same person over and over again, making more and more out of the same victim.

Upon harvesting the organs you next cut open the Host, and begin to replace them with the Monsterfication organs. This must he done fast, as the Monsterfications cells quickly break down and die.

If done fast enough the cells will latch on to the new Hosts body, and attempt to mold with it. This is done in a moment of confusion. The ability assumes that this is its actual host. As such it does its best to try and mold together. However, it lacks the bodily material necessary, to form them together.

This is where the third person comes in...

Once complete the host will be turned into a Seraphin.

Every Seraphin has two ways to tell from a glance. The first is their silver eyes. Every host of the Monsterfication has silver hair, and silver eyes. When someone becomes a Seraphin part of their body is remade to a small portion. They gain silver streaks through their hair, and bright silver eyes. Furthermore, their Mantra is also blue, and when they let their Monster-Point out, the white in their hair grows more, and becomes blue, and their silver eyes become yellow.

The latest known Seraphin is Hero Otoko. Doctor Hyde made Hero, due to his defensive based power known as Balloon. An ability that lets him inflate and compress his body at will. He also used Hero's Adopted mother Joan, and her ability known as Living Nano. An ability that had several million tiny living creatures within the body that could affect the inside and heal. He did this in hopes of negating the weakness of the Monsterfication by creating someone who could heal without it, and not rely on it to defend themselves. Instead, he hoped that Hero would be able to master all three powers and become the perfect warrior.

Doctor Hyde has also added on to the project. Most Seraphin's die due to the fact that the body can not handle the power. 100% of an Attribute is tripled so for a Seraphin their max is 300% and the body is just not made to handle that.

As such Doctor Hyde made the Lab Coat, and the Holders. The Lab Coat is created through intense drugs, hypnosis, and psychosocial implants and ideas. It is part of the brain and rest in a place of the mind known as the Void. The Lab Coat is designed to hold all of Doctor Hyde's knowledge at that moment, as well as to watch the Seraphin and hold their power back. As a Seraphin gets stronger and stronger their power continues to be under the threat of going crazy. A Lab Coats goal, is to be the kill switch, and kill the Seraphin if they are under risk.

As of now Hero has nicknamed his Lab Coat Labby. Labby is also under a intense seal, placed by Maudite, and Angel. This stops him from being able to cause any harm to Hero. He is mostly stuck and harmless, however, if he ever gets out he could easily kill Hero.

The Holders, are actually memories. Or rather a Ghost. They are the dying embers, of an Equation Of Life of the two added on Attributes. One of these will always be the Monsterfication, where as the other will be the second Attribute.

It is also theorized by Hero, and the Smaller Labby that there is a fourth being in the Void. One that Doctor Hyde never created. One instead made from Hate and Trauma... Though this is just a theory.

As it stands a Seraphin dances on the edge of human and monster. The more their percentage goes up the higher the chances of them being taken over by their power are.

Doctor Hyde made all Seraphins start at 30% power or a maximum of 90% with all three. So in Hero's case, he would have 30% Balloon, 30% Monsterfication, and 30% Living Nano. For a total of 90% max power. His limit can go up to 50% or a max of 150% which is half of the power. However, going over 100% max is dangerous and if your body isn't strong enough or used to it, it'll begin to break down. It is impossible for a Seraphin to pass 50% as the other total

Labby has access to 10% of the Balloon power. It is unknown where the other 40% rests.

The Red Lake has access to 10% of the Living Nano Attribute. It is unknown where the other 40% rests.

The Hospital, or 'Ava' has access to 10% of the Monsterfication Attribute. It is unknown where the other 40% rests.

If Hero was to absorb them all he would gain and extra 30% added onto his 150% bosting him up to 180% of his power. Somewhere within him, rests an extra 120% power that nobody knows about.

By pulling it all in he would gain 300% max power. Three times above the recommended limit. ano Seraphin has ever reached that point.

Seraphins stand on the edge of monster and human. However they can dip into the power their monster side holds, through a power known as Monster-Point.

Monster-Point greatly enhances everything about them, and gives them access to several new and deveasting powers.

A Seraphin's main power is though something called a Renacido. A Renacido can only be done once the Seraphin has reached 150% and once done will cause a permanent transformation.

The user will begin to go through a metamorphosis, changing, and evolving. Their body is remade with stronger and denser cells, designed to withstand the new power. They gain new organs, and even grow an extra three hearts, and more veins, denser and stronger bones, stronger muscles, and remake several organs such as the lungs, allowing them to hold more oxygen, and allowing them to breath in quicker. Their hair also becomes an full permanent silver. They also resemble the host of the monsterfication more. Once the Renacido is done, it can not be reversed. Furthermore, their Monster-Point is greatly increased, taking on the aspect of a Bestia Macht.

They lose all sense of taste, and heat, feeling nothing but a piercing cold. They feel an intense hunger they can never get rid of, and they feel need for battle.

ontop of that the body no longer feels tired. It still needs to sleep, but it will never feel exhaustion. On top of that they only need sleep for around one or two hours, and they can stay up for days and sometimes even weeks. They also require a lot more protein and calories. A Seraphin who has undergone the Renacido needs to eat around ten million calories a day.

They have to do this in order to power up, and to stop themselves from burning through their own life equation to fast. Their Equation Of Life is several hundreds of times stronger then a Humans, and as such they must consume far more to keep theirs up.

The average Super-Human eats around a million calories a day, with the Average normal human consuming around fine hundred thousand, calories a day.

The Renacido gives them ultimate power but takes away their will as a human.

It is also thought that there could even be a power beyond that? Something that stands out...
