CHAPTER 42

"Anytime now would be a good one," Liu Xueyi pushed again. He knew how embarrassing it was for Sun Jungyi to do that. However, it wasn't because he was called an old bellied thwart, Andromeda was insulted.

Somehow seeing her being treated that way made him recall the girl and that night. And all he wanted to do was protect her. He failed to protect that girl before and take responsibility, now, he had a chance to protect someone.

At this point, Sun Jungyi felt like cursing Liu Xueyi but he had to obey all for the sake of his family. His father had been pursuing him for two months now and got nowhere.

"Fine." He raised his head and looked at Andromeda, memorizing her face in his mind. "Miss, I apologize for the troubles I have caused and my ill manners. Do forgive me."

Andromeda cast a long sigh before looking up as though he was not talking to her. "And she?" Her eyes landed on her stepsister who by now had her head lowered in embarrassment.

"I apologize on her behalf. It was all my fault for not taming my woman and teaching her manners," he added quickly.

She let out a sigh and nodded. "Okay. There was not much trouble. It is such a sad thing you picked the wrong girl as your woman."

Her lips pulled back revealing a toothed smile as she watched Fang Daiyu clench her hand in front of her.

"Seek forgiveness from him. After all, you called him an old bellied thwart." Sun Jungyi cringed.

It felt as though Andromeda was putting him in more trouble intentionally. "No, if you forgive me, I promise not to let it repeat itself."

"Fine then. I forgive you." She lifted her eyes sluggishly to Liu Xueyi and nodded her head.

"Okay, let's go." He placed his hand in his pocket and walked past Sun Jungyi. Once he got to where Andromeda stood, he held her hand, pulling her with him when Sun Jungyi's voice rang out.

"Young Master Liu, you would keep your end of the bargain and forgive me, thereby doing business with the Sun family, right?"

Liu Xueyi paused in his tracks and his eyes closed. His irritation rose by the second.

Casting a cold glance his way, the air around him changed. Even Andromeda standing close to him felt a shudder run down her spine and goosebumps appear.

"I never said I would do business with you. I only said I would consider forgiving you," Liu Xueyi explained.

"What!" His nostrils flared and his chest rose in disbelief as he tried to think properly. "But I knelt down."

"To seek her forgiveness, not mine," Liu Xueyi countered. "And tell your father, that the Liu Corporation does not deal in shady business. There would be no deal."

He did not wait for him to come up with any other excuses and took Andromeda with him. He got to his car, opened the car door for her and closed it after she got in then made his way to the driver's side and with that, they left.

Sun Jungyi could not believe the words he heard. All he did. The embarrassment he had to endure just so he could secure this business deal with the Liu Corporationa dn afor nothing.

He did not want to believe that and lifted his head. He stretched his hand, wanting to stop Liu Xueyi but found out that he was already gone.

"Hmm, one should know their place, don't you think?" Xu Fang asked as he got to where Sun Jungyi still knelt.

He turned his head to the side to take a look and see who it was, he rushed up to his feet and bowed his head. "Xu Fang, please, help!"

His fingers latched onto the latter's shirt, he tugged in a plea. Xu Fang shot him a glare. That was all he could do at that moment to contain his anger.

And getting the message, Sun Jungyi pulled his hand away quickly. "Umm, I am sorry."

Not sparing him a few words even, he walked away with the others behind as they drove off in their respective cars.

Once everyone had left, Sun Jungyi whopped his head to the side where Fang Daiyu remained seated on the ground. Quickly, she got on her feet and rushed to his side.

"Sun Jungyi. Sun Jungyi, forgive me."

"Forgive you?"

"Yes. It is all her fault. You saw she was the one at fault. Wasn't that why you chose to stand up for me?"

He yanked his hand away from her and glared daggers at her. "Because of you…" he gritted his teeth. "Do you know what I have lost? Is your afamilywealthy enough to compensate for the business deal I just missed/"

"You must believe me. I did not mean to embarrass you. It was that guy. He was being baised because he had more influence."

He scoffed at her. "Isn't that how the world is today? The strong trample on the weak and the weak have to suffer? If you did not like it, then what have you doen to get better?"

"Sun Jungyi, you cannot talk to me like that. I never did any wrong. How can you choose to side with him over me?" she fumed, getting angry at him.

His lips opened slightly as he bemused at her words. "You think you are comparable?"

"Sun Jungyi!"

"Yes? Or do you find my words insulting?"

"I do. I am your woman. No matter what I should be the one you side with," Fang Daiyu scolded.

"You think you can say that in front of my father? I am dead meat now because of you and all you can say is this? Aish!"

He eyed her from head to toe and shook his head. "What was I thinking butting in the first place. All you have is your mouth. She defeated you with ease."

Immediately, tears began to spill from her eyes causing him to arch a brow at her.

It was her escape route she used on most of the guys she dated and he was no different she believed.

"What? You are crying?" He could not believe the outcome.

Sigh, this is not what I need now. I need to clear my head. I would not be sending you home, Daiyu. Order for a cab."
