CEO Husband Please Be Refrained

The night was hazy, the street lights lit up.

Mo Beichen stood still looking at her. Actually, he was no longer that furious, but somehow, seeing her looking in such a sorry state, a gush of anger suddenly rushed into his heart. He marched toward her and when he was in front of her, he grabbed her wrist and shrieked at her in a low voice, “What exactly are you doing?”

Xia Weilan who had been waiting for two hours widened her eyes. She was delighted and held Mo Beichen’s hand. She said sweetly as if she didn’t hear what he’d said just now, “You’re here!”

That pair of bright and intelligent eyes were sparkling like the autumn stars, gazing at him with tenderness. 

Mo Beichen could only feel that the anger in his heart suddenly extinguished. He clenched his fist but somehow he couldn’t raise his temper anymore.

Xia Weilan extended her hand that was holding two admission tickets. “I’ve bought two tickets for the Ferris wheels. Let’s go.”

Xia Weilan held on to his hand as she was talking and led him toward the direction of the flashing neon light behind her. Mo Beichen was definitely stronger than her but he unwittingly followed behind her. His gaze was fixed at Xia Weilan who was dodging the crowds in front of her. He couldn’t see her expression clearly but he could see her smooth and beautiful hair swaying in the air. It was such a beautiful sight. Mo Beichen was mystified by her rear view and followed her into the Ferris wheel. 

It was until the both of them were already in midair that Mo Beichen let out a sigh secretly. He asked gently, “What are you trying to tell me?”

Xia Weilan didn’t dare to keep him hanging and quickly told him. “I helped Xia Corp get the deal for the emerald and my design was selected.”

Xia Weilan said while she secretly did a mental calculation. When the Ferris wheel reaches its highest peak, she will take the initiative to kiss him. By doing so, Mo Beichen would probably stop getting angry with her.

Xia Weilan stared at Mo Beichen with her eyes flickering with brightness and she couldn’t bother to check the changes happening around her. When they were about to reach the top, Mo Beichen suddenly said, “Don’t look down.”

“Why?” 

Out of curiosity, Xia Weilan turned around slowly after she heard Mo Beichen’s words. She stared behind her and realized that they were already very high up from the ground. The crowds that stood at the ground had become very tiny. 

“Ah…” Xia Weilan was startled and she grabbed Mo Beichen’s hand tightly and she was frightened. 

Xia Weilan didn’t even notice that her nails dug into his skin.

Mo Beichen took her into his arms immediately and pressed her onto his chest. He said helplessly, “I’ve already told you not to look and you still looked.”

At this instant, the Ferris wheel was about to descend. Xia Weilan remembered her plan and she immediately placed her hands around his neck, lifted her face toward his thin lips and kissed him.

Her heart was beating wildly as if it was about to jump from her chest. She wasn’t sure if it was because from the shock or from the embarrassment.

Mo Beichen’s imposing body went stiff. The hand that he placed behind her back suddenly tightened.

She kissed his lips gently, her warm and sweet breath landed on his face.

Mo Beichen’s eyes were darker than the dark night outside and he suddenly sucked on her invading tongue. He regained the lead from being passive and trapped her sweet lips.

At this moment, everything became quiet. 

Time and space didn’t exist anymore. All that was left was the two figures tangling onto each other, caressing the lips and tongues of each other affectionately.

“Uh…” It was as if a decade had passed. Xia Weilan let out heavy breaths as she leaned on Mo Beichen’s arms as if all her energy had been drawn from her body.

Mo Beichen wasn’t doing any better. His breathing was heavy and he was emitting a dangerous aura.

Xia Weilan’s fair fingers traced along the scar on his neck. She said in regret, “Hubby, does it still hurt?”
She gently caressed that scar in guilt, not daring to lift her head to look at him.

Mo Beichen suddenly tensed up and reached out to stop her little hand that was touching him. He said in a low and hoarse voice, “Don’t move.”

Xia Weilan obediently sat upright, not daring to move.

After a while, Xia Weilan pulled herself away from him and stared at Mo Beichen cautiously. 

“Hubby, are you still angry?”

Mo Beichen gradually steadied his breathing and said in a deep voice, “No more next time.”

When they were once again on the ground, Mo Beichen held Xia Weilan’s hand and they went for dinner at the restaurant. Their relationship became closer.

That evening, a private jet landed in Beijing. The woman who got off the plane was strapped with a drip and she was transferred to the hospital by the medic team as soon as she landed. 

When Old Master Xia hurried to the hospital after hearing the news, Xia Roulin was sitting on the hospital bed looking haggard. When she saw Old Master Xia, she greeted him delightfully, “Grandpa!”

That voice was filled with grief and earnestness. It made Old Master Xia mess up his pace and in the end, he went over to hold Xia Roulin’s hands and said, “My child, you’ve suffered.”

“Grandpa.” Xia Roulin hugged Old Master Xia’s waist. Seizing the opportunity, she let her tears flow down her cheeks and said chokingly, “I’m alright, Grandpa. It’s just that I missed you. When I’m over there, I miss home every day.”

Xue Zhiqing who stood beside them quickly let out a sigh and said correspondingly, “Dad, Roulin is filial. Even when she’s sick, she refused to come back because she doesn’t want you to worry about her. I have to arrange for someone to send her back while she’s sleeping. She’s not acclimatized over there. What’s the use of staying there? Sigh, silly girl.”

Old Master Xia drew a few pieces of tissue paper and wiped Xia Roulin’s tears.

“Since you’re already back, then there’s no need to go back there anymore. If you want to do your internship, you can do it at the headquarter.”

“Yes, Grandpa.” Xia Roulin’s eyes brightened up in an instant but she quickly concealed it and once again pretended to be content and gentle. 

“Grandpa, I heard that Sis Weilan made a worthy contribution to the company. I am the useless one who even came back being sick.”

“How can you be useless? How can the young miss of the Xia Family say such words!” Old Master Xia frowned and softened his expression, “When you’ve recovered, I’ll arrange for you to intern in the office. You only need to focus on doing your best. Surely, you will be able to show some results.”

After all, he watched her grow. Old Master Xia’s heart softened and he had forgotten how Xia Roulin had made full use of her status to be domineering during her last internship at the company. He kept comforting her now.

“Yes, Grandpa. I will learn from Sis Weilan,” said Xia Roulin immediately. When she mentioned Xia Weilan, it was as though she had rubbed her lips with honey.

“Grandpa, Sis Weilan is really capable. After she graduates, she should join the company as part of the management team. Everyone would accept her wholeheartedly,” probed Xia Roulin 

Old Master Xia shifted his expression and said calmly, “The future of the company relies on your generation.”

“Yes, Grandpa.” Xia Roulin lowered her head to hide the emotions in her eyes.
