Xia Weilan laid flat on the floor and closed her eyes. Gu Yuwei followed the teacher’s instruction and placed her hands in front of her chest and pressed on it gently. Then, Gu Yuwei followed the teacher’s order and slowly lowered her body. She placed her fingers on Xia Weilan’s collar and gently moved her fingers as if she’s trying to undo something.

Xia Weilan’s expression was calm and it seemed that didn’t notice what Gu Yuwei was at all. But just when Gu Yuwei unbuttoned the first button, a hand suddenly grabbed her hand.

“Ah…” Gu Yuwei felt guilty as a thief and she was so shocked that she fell to the floor. 

“What’s going on?” The teacher helped Gu Yuwei up and saw Gu Yuwei’s face went pale.

“No…nothing.” Gu Yuwei clenched her fist and turned her head to stare toward Xia Weilan. She noticed that Xia Weilan already stood up in her neat attire, staring at her with her eyes half squinting. Xia Weilan was staring emotionlessly at her. It left her feeling paralyzed, unable to move at all.

“Teacher, Gu Yuwei doesn’t look well. Why don’t I bring her to the infirmary for a rest?” Xia Weilan suddenly suggested.

“Alright. Today’s demonstration is almost coming to an end. You can go for a rest first.” The teacher said kindly.

They walked in front of each other along the school corridor. The atmosphere was so rigid that Gu Yuwei found it hard to breathe. 

The evening sun was setting, the thin clouds with gold lining added a layer of light to the sky. However, the people walking under the dark shadows of the tree in the forest path had different emotions. 

“What are you trying to do just now?” Xia Weilan suddenly halted her footsteps and stared at Gu Yuwei with her emotionless eyes.

“N…Nothing…” Gu Yuwei walked past her and quickened her footsteps, walking at a messy pace.

She just managed to take a few steps before Xia Weilan grabbed her arms and gave her a strong tug. Gu Yuwei staggered and landed on her bottom. She lifted her head and looked at Xia Weilan in surprise.

“Why are you…” Gu Yuwei couldn’t believe what had happened. She immediately recalled something and she stared at Xia Weilan timidly. “What happened to you?”

Xia Weilan twitched her mouth. “I should be the one asking you this question. Are you trying to take off my clothes on the stage just now?”

Gu Yuwei’s expression changed, she suddenly panicked. “Weilan, I am left with no choice. I don’t want to do this.” 

The both of them suddenly went silent with the occasional sound of Gu Yuwei sobbing. Later, her sobs became louder. Tears welled in Gu Yuwei’s eyes and glided down her cheeks. Xia Weilan frowned when she heard her cries. 

Gu Yuwei’s shoulders trembled as she said in a weak and helpless voice, “Weilan, you must help me. I’m already clueless. My brother was captured by Xia Roulin, the thing that she asked me to do…I don’t know what to do now.”

Gu Yuwei choked on her tears uncontrollably. She was like a string that snapped from being pulled with high tension. 

“I’m sorry, I’m really sorry.”

Xia Weilan sensed something hit her heart. She recalled that in her previous life, she had stupidly caused Mo Beichen’s death and yet she never got the chance to beg him for his forgiveness.

“What’s the use of crying?” Xia Weilan said coldly, “Stop those useless acts.”

“What…” Gu Yuwei stopped her crying. Her bloodshot eyes were still left with sorrows and doubts.

“Can crying change what you have done? Can crying bring your brother home safely? Gu Yuwei, do you even have a brain?” Xia Weilan glanced at her angrily, keeping a distance from her coldly.

Gu Yuwei shivered and crawled up from the floor. She wiped away her tears and asked in confusion, “Then what should I do?”

“Aren’t you looking for your brother? I’ll look for him with you.”

At A University’s entrance, a black Maybach was already parked there.

Inside the car, Mo Beichen was tapping on the steering wheel as he listened to Xu Wei’s updates through his bluetooth earpiece. 

“President Mo, the hostage was locked inside an old warehouse near the Xia Residence. Jin Mao came out occasionally to check for news. He was usually hiding there. Besides, Xia Roulin rarely showed up at the old warehouse.”

“Okay.” Mo Beichen ended the call and stared at the two figures that were walking over.

“Weilan, are you really going to help me? Do you have a way to rescue my brother? But, I don’t even have a clue about where they are hiding my brother.” 

Gu Yuwei tugged on Xia Weilan’s sleeve tightly. She was nervous but was looking forward to it at the same time. 

“I’ll try my best.” As soon as Xia Weilan finished her words, she glanced at the Maybach parked at the roadside and said, “Do you want to join the rescue or do you want to wait here for news? My men had already located your brother.”

“Really? I wanted to go get him.” Gu Yuwei grabbed Xia Weilan’s hand excitedly.

“Weilan, I really need to thank you for this time.”

“Nonsense!” Rui Li strode toward them and gave Gu Yuwei an impatience glace, “People like you are really annoying. You can cut your act. Previously, when you pushed Weilan out, had you ever considered her life and death?”

Gu Yuwei was speechless.

That night at Xia Family’s old mansion.

Xia Roulin was eating dinner with Old Master Xia. Suddenly, they all heard someone shouting.

“Xia Roulin, return my brother to me!”

A girl with a haggard face came rushing in and grabbed her collar. “Where did you hide my brother? Where’s my brother?”

Xia Roulin was already shocked and with Gu Yuwei pestering her in such a manner now, her face immediately turned pale. 

“Someone, get this crazy woman out from the house, now!” Xia Roulin ordered while she struggled with all her might to free her arm.

Gu Yuwei was dragged away by a few servants and she retreated. But she still wore an angry expression.

President Mo mentioned just now for her to speak up in front of Old Master Xia on how Xia Roulin had threatened her. Thus, Gu Yuwei was not even afraid and resisted with all her might.

“I’ve already followed your instruction to harm Xia Weilan. Why haven’t you released my brother?”

Old Master Xia was shocked when he heard what she said. He looked at the girl in front of him and asked, “What do you mean?”

“Grandpa, this girl is a nut. Look at how crazy she is, she’s definitely insane.” Xia Roulin struggled to maintain her calmness.

She yelled at the servants, “What are you waiting for? Drag this person out.”

“I brought her here. If you want to get rid of her, you will need to get rid of me first.”

Suddenly, a couple came in the door. Xia Weilan was the one speaking. She went in front of Gu Yuwei and dismissed the servants and brought her in front of Old Master Xia.

“Grandpa, this is my classmate. Her brother was kidnapped by Xia Roulin’s men. As for the motive, I believe you’ve heard it yourself just now.” Xia Weilan pronounced every word slowly.

Old Master Xia casted a doubtful look at Xia Roulin and asked in a serious manner, “What’s going on? Tell me, now!”

Xia Roulin’s chest tightened. However, her face didn’t reflect a single trace of panic. 

“Grandpa, I am being accused. Why would I do such a thing? Someone must have tried to frame me for this.”

Although Xia Roulin was anxious, she knew that the hostage was locked away at a secretive place. She refused to believe that she had shown any flaws. Thus, she was not afraid at all. 

“Really? Then can you explain what were you doing at Gu Yuwei’s house a few days ago?” Xia Weilan said in a delicate tone as a dark glister of light flashed across her eyes.
