Seeing that the powerful strike was about to land in her direction, Xia Weilan blinked and dodged which caused her opponent to strike his palm on the door instead. It made a ‘bang’ sound and hole on the door.

At the private room next door, Nan Fengyan suddenly hissed, “What happened? What’s going on next door?”

Mo Beichen also paused when he heard the noise. His expression changed suddenly and he stood up immediately.

At the private room next door, Xia Weilan relentlessly thrust the shattered glass bottle toward that man’s chest and threatened him once again, “Open the door now!”

At this moment, someone opened the door suddenly. Before Xia Weilan could react, a powerful force pulled her into his arms. 

“Hubby…” Xia Weilan lifted her face that was smeared with blood in surprise.

Mo Beichen fixed his gaze on her and asked in a deep voice, “Are you alright?”

“Gosh, it’s Mo Beichen. Run.” Someone recognized Mo Beichen and quickly ran toward the door.

‘Thump’ Mo Beichen suddenly lifted his leg and gave a hard kick that sent the guy stumbled back into the private room.

At the moment, Nan Fengyan had rushed to the scene.

“Take care of these people. Don’t leave any of them behind.” Mo Beichen ordered in a cold voice.

Nan Fengyan shivered and as if wanted to say something. However, when he saw Xia Weilan who was smeared with bloodstains being held tightly inside Mo Beichen’s arms, he held back his words.

Not long later, a few security guards in black shirts arrived. Mo Beichen led Xia Weilan out of the scene and checked if she was injured.

“Hubby, I’m alright. These blood are from that person.” Xia Weilan quickly explained.

“I better go to the washroom to wash it off,” suggested Xia Weilan.

Mo Beichen’s expression was profound. He quickly took Xia Weilan to the washroom. 

When the sound of the running tap water stopped, Xia Weilan already cleaned up her face. By the time she walked out of the washroom, those gangsters were already gone.

“What happened?” Mo Beichen asked in a deep voice.

“Well…I was being tricked into coming here.” Xia Weilan also didn’t know why she felt a little guilty and secretly scolded herself for being stupid.

“Hi, Sis-in-law. We meet again.” Nan Fengyan suddenly walked toward them while giggling. He didn’t appear as grim as he was just now.

Beside him, a few noble gentlemen and rich young ladies also came over.

“Since Sis-in-law is here, let’s go for a drink together,” said Nan Fengyan.

“This is?” One of the young ladies asked in envy.

“You didn’t know her? She’s Miss Xia, Mo-ge’s sweetheart.” Nan Fengyan said with a chuckle. 

He suddenly said, “Sis-in-law, you need to keep a close eye on Mo-ge. He’s very popular here.” 

Xia Weilan’s expression immediately changed as she heard what Nan Fengyan said. She took another glance at the few young ladies. All of them had nice curves and they were very alluring. There was something not right about the way they gazed at Mo Beichen.

“Come with me.” Without demur, Mo Beichen wanted to leave as he held onto Xia Weilan’s hand.

“I’m not going.” Xia Weilan protested. However, she wasn’t able to free herself from Mo Beichen’s grip and was dragged outside.

Nan Fengyan who stood on the same spot rubbed his nose. His eyes flashed with amusement. 

Mo Beichen loosen his grip when they were at the bar’s main entrance. 

He let out a breath ferociously and stared at Xia Weilan in anger, “Once we’re back in the villa, you better give me a good explanation. Wait here, I’ll go get the car.”

Xia Weilan was upset, she said with her neck stiff, “You are the one who should be giving me a good explanation. What are you guys doing inside the private room just now? Are you picking up girls?”

Xia Weilan was a little irritated. No wonder Mo Beichen always came to the bar without bringing her along. The hint from Nan Fengyan just now was already very clear. There were so many women to lust after, and yet he came here very often…

Mo Beichen who was making his way to retrieve the car halted his footstep. He turned around and threw the key to a security guard at the door. He once walked toward Xia Weilan.

“Do you know how dangerous it is for a girl to come here alone! Didn’t you have enough fun just now?” Mo Beichen took a few steps and stood in front of her and scolded in fury.

“I…I…” Xia Weilan felt wronged and her eyes reddened.

“What about you! You have your reason for coming here to pick up girls? If you are still so unreasonable, I won’t care about you anymore. You can do whatever you like. It’s none of my business.”

Xia Weilan blurted out a few angry words and wiped her tears while standing still on the spot. She then pushed away Mo Beichen and ran outside. 

Mo Beichen stared at her back moodily. When he saw her impetuously standing beside the road flagging down a taxi, he quickly chased after her and pulled her.

A taxi pulled over. The driver pulled down the window and asked, “Where are you going?” 

Xia Weilan wanted to get in the car, but Mei Beichen grabbed her tightly. Xia Weilan’s arm was red. She gritted her teeth and turned around to bite hard on Mo Beichen’s arm.

Upon seeing this, the driver hesitated and asked, “Are you getting in the car?”

“Yes.” After biting Mo Beichen, Xia Weilan pushed him away and got in the car immediately.

The taxi drove away. Mo Beichen’s face darkened and he made a call, “Check on a taxi with registration number xxx. Secretly follow it and make sure Xia Weilan is safe.”

Mo Beichen hung up the phone. He drove the Maybach and chased after the taxi.

The taxi stopped in front of an apartment. Xia Weilan got out of the car and immediately went inside.

In the Maybach parked not far away, Mo Beichen called Rui Li, “Is Xia Weilan meeting you?”

“Yes, I’m now going down to meet her.”

“Alright. Take good care of her. I’ll come to fetch her tomorrow morning.” Mo Beichen’s dark pupils were like a bottomless pit. He wanted to investigate who wanted to harm his wife today.

By the time Xia Weilan came out from the elevator, Rui Li had already put away her phone and was waiting for her, “What brings you here? It’s so late now. Did you run away from home?”

Xia Weilan went inside the house, “How did you know?”

“Just look at you. Your eyes were all red and bloodshot okay? So what happened? Did Mo-ge bully you?” Rui Li poured a glass of water from the cabinet and passed it to her.

“What else do you know? Spill it.” Xia Weilan pursed her lips and said.

“I also knew that your body reeked with blood smell. Go take a shower and change your clothes.” Rui Li rested her leg on the table and leisurely switched on the tv. She chose the sports channel but halted, and she switched to a music channel.

Xia Weilan lowered her head and looked at her skirt that was splattered with blood. She also found it disgusting. Hence, she stood up and said, “I’ll go take a shower first. I’ll be staying at your place tonight. I’m worried that if I go back to Xia Residence like this, my grandpa will get worried.”

“No problem, you can stay here at ease. I’ll go get you some clothing.” Rui Li took a set of clothing from the bedroom.

“I still have some wine. When you are done and want to have a drink, I can accompany you.” Rui Li crossed her hands in front of her chest and said while standing in front of the bathroom.

“Since when were you this considerate?” Xia Weilan looked at her suspiciously and closed the door.

Rui Li let out a sigh and returned to the couch. She noticed that there was another incoming message, “Remember to check if she’s injured. If she’s exhausted, get her to rest early.”
