Liu Yinyin was secretly delighted when she heard Xia Weilan’s reply. She had already arranged for someone to spread scandalous news of Xia Weilan in the office. There’s no way that Weilan is having an easy life in the office, she must have been barely surviving.

With the butler keeping her under his close watch, Liu Yinyin’s phone was switched off and she was totally clueless about what’s happening at the office.

Seeing that Liu Yinyin hung her head low, appearing as if she doesn’t have much appetite to eat, Mo Dongling couldn’t help but took some food for her.

Liu Yinyin didn’t even look at Mo Donglin. She was staring at Mo Beichen who was sitting across her. Her eyes widened in shock when she saw Mo Beichen taking food for Xia Weilan and seemed to be getting along very well, like a lovely couple.

Jealousy flashed across her eyes. She narrowed her eyes and lowered her head. She stared at her plateful of food, but she really wasn’t in the mood to eat. She whispered to Mo Donglin, “Donglin, I really don’t want to kneel anymore. Can you help me to beg the old master?”

Xia Weilan noticed Liu Yinyin’s petty acts. Not waiting for Mo Donglin to say anything, Xia Weilan opened her mouth, “Grandpa, something actually happened at the office. Someone had been spreading scandalous news behind my back. A lot of colleagues in the office have a picture of me with Ouyang Mingqi. I am very troubled by this.”

She never mentioned any name but the Old Master immediately relate this to the incident where Liu Yinyin framed Xia Weilan with the pictures. He glared at Liu Yinyin, “Had you lost your mind? How can you even think of framing your family? Look what you’ve done? Those rumors exist because of you.”

There is no way for Mo Donglin to beg the Old Master Mo to put an end to the punishment on Liu Yinyin. He changed the topic, “Grandpa, Yinyin already realized that she was wrong.”

Liu Yinyin nearly chewed the chopstick in her mouth. She said, “Yes, Grandpa. I won’t do it again.”

She kept quiet throughout the rest of the dinner, fearing that the old master was still upset with her and would criticize her for her wrongdoing.

When they finished with the meal, Mo Donglin helped Liu Yinyin walked out of the dining hall.

“Slow down,” Liu Yinyin murmured.

Mo Donglin felt distressed when he noticed the pain on her face.

In the car, Liu Yinyin immediately asked Mo Donglin about what happened in the office.

“What? Xiao Xiao was fired?” Liu Yinyin was certain that she must have knelt for too long today as she’s starting to feel a little giddy now.

After getting the confirmation from Mo Donglin, she gritted her teeth, “This is too much! Xia Weilan does not run the company. How can she simply fire someone because they accidentally spilled something on her clothes? What gives her the right to do that?”

Mo Donglin didn’t noticed that Liu Yinyin never criticized Mo Beichen but shifted all the blame onto Xia Weilan.

On the contrary, he even comforted her,  “I also think that this is too much.”

The company is like Mo Beichen’s realm. He can simply fire anyone with just a single word. What would happen if Mo Beichen fire him one day?

He really needs to make his way up in order to gain a foothold in the company.

“Don’t worry, Yinyin. I’ll request Grandpa to grant me a promotion during the board meeting next month.” Mo Donglin promised

But Liu Yinyin simply treated it like she didn’t hear what he’d said. To her, it doesn’t matter if Mo Donglin got a promotion, there is no way that he would gain a foothold as strong as Mo Beichen.

Mo Donglin has always been a spineless coward who only knows how to bury his head in doing some small-business dealings, hoping that the old master would promote him. But everyone knows that Mo Beichen has the final say in the company and even the old master had already set his heart to pass down the company to Mo Beichen. Only those who have no power would listen to Mo Donglin. Otherwise, nobody would even listen to her.

Liu Yinyin was secretly thinking that once she got rid of Xia Weilan, she could then get along with Mo Beichen in the office all day and all night.

Although there’s nothing much she could do now, seeing Mo Beichen brings her a lot of comfort.

The next day, Liu Yinyin went to the ancestral hall to continue her kneeling.

But this time, she is smart. She tied thick cotton pads on her knees.

Moreover, the butler only watched her for a while before he was called to attend to another task by someone arranged by Liu Yinyin.

She secretly laughed and spent the whole morning playing with her phone while eating snacks.

What’s even luckier was that the old master had went out early in the morning and she was even more unrestrained.

And just like that, Liu Yinyin spent the rest of her day happily.

In the evening, while chatting with Old Master Mo, Xia Weilan noticed Liu Yinyin walked toward with rosy complexion, not complaining about the pain in her legs and was walking around easily. After dinner, Liu Yinyin slipped away in an extremely good mood.

Xia Weilan sensed something fishy and she secretly checked with the butler.

“Young madam, I am unable to answer you. For no reason, there were a lot of things that I need to attend to today. It seems as though everything went wrong and I had been busy from morning until night. I instructed the maid to keep an eye on her.”

Xia Weilan shrewdly starred in the direction where Liu Yinyin walked off to. Liu Yinyin must have pulled some ticks off her sleeves.

The butler is a smart man. The moment he saw Xia Weilan’s reaction, something crossed his mind and his face immediately turned green.

Liu Yinyin had been living comfortably for the past two days and she had begun to arrange for someone to find faults with Xia Weilan.

Isn’t her trusted aide, Zhou Lanxin still in the office?

The next day.

Xai Weilan got the draft contract from the manager and went to the printing room to make a copy of the contract. But as soon as the printing started, a colleague called her at the door, “Weilan, can you help me for a while?”

Xia Weilan didn’t think much and went out.

When she returned to the printing room, the documents were already printed.

She reached out and retrieved the printed document from the printer. She briefly browsed through the printed copies and her eyes were fixed on a certain number.

She remembered that the payout agreed by the manager was 5 million dollars. How is it possible that on the printed contract, it stated 10 million?

She was stunned. Could it be that she had made a typo error when she was drafting the contract?

She was thankful that she caught her mistake and immediately returned to her computer to amend the contract.

She halted her footsteps. She has always been confident with her memory and it is impossible for her to make such a mistake.

She took out the original copy of the contract and found that the amount stated on the original document was indeed 5 million.

""

The original copy was 5 million but the printed copies were 10 million! Someone must be behind this.

Zhou Lanxin saw Xia Weilan walk out of the office looking as usual and went into the conference room.

She almost died from laughing, thinking that Xia Weilan is going to get unlucky.

When Han Yishi walked out of the conference room, Zhou Lanxin acted kind and helped him to press the elevator’s button. She casually asked, “How much is the contract payout you get this time?”

Han Yishi immediately recalled what Xia Weilan had requested him to do and he immediately answered, “5 million. Why?”
