Xu Wei walked over immediately and cleared his throat, “Why are you hanging around here, don’t you have work to do?!”

Those who had been gossiping immediately shut their mouths and went back to their workstations to get busy.

Xu Wei frowned. He must inform President Mo about this immediately. The gossip in the advertising department can be overwhelming to the President’s wife.

By the time Xu Wei returned to the top floor, Mo Beichen was still in a meeting. Not long later, the meeting ended. Mo Beichen asked, “What’s wrong?” 

Xu Wei immediately reported to Mo Beichen about what he had heard.

Xia Weilan came out to take some water from the tea room. When she turned around, she saw Zhou Lanxin and Xiao Xiao standing behind her.

Both of them pretended to hold their cups. Xiao Xiao splashed the remaining water in her cup on Xia Weilan. 

“I did it deliberately, so what?” Xiao Xiao said proudly. Liu Yinyin had urged them to teach Xia Weilan a good lesson. As loyal friends of Liu Yinyin, Xiao Xiao and Zhou Xin weren’t afraid of Xia Weilan at all. Moreover, after what Xia Weilan had done, there’s no doubt that President Mo doesn’t want her anymore.

“Hmph, I will help President Mo to teach you a good lesson.” Xiao Xiao sneered as she looked at Xia Weilan’s frowning face.

Xia Weilan was furious. Not only did these people spread untrue rumours about her, it even escalated to this. She shouldn’t put up with this. She scowled and shouted sternly, “Who gives you the courage to do this?”

Xiao Xiao and Zhou Lanxin took a step back, shocked by her sudden change of aura.

“You…you…how dare you show your arrogant face. I…I’m not going to apologize.” Xiao Xiao stammered.

Xia Weilan understands the fact that kind people will be bullied. Moreover, she did nothing wrong and her unfair treatment reflected the saying as proof. Thus, she wasn’t afraid to make this big. She cracked her knuckles, making popping sounds, “Say it one more time. Apologize now! Or else, you can’t afford the consequences.” 

“This is the office, not the Xia Family. How dare a shameless woman like you come to mess around in the office, I warn you…” Xiao Xiao was taken aback by Xia Weilan’s expression and she took two steps back.

Other colleagues gathered around and watched them in awe.

Why is Xia Weilan acting in such a scary manner? Is she picking up a fight?

Luckily, Xiao Xiao is the one in the limelight. She showed everyone that Xia Weilan was not an easy target.

“What’s the matter?” Someone shouted from behind.

When the crowd heard this, they took a step back in fright. Mo Beichen and Xu Wei walked over slowly. 

Xiao Xiao was shocked when she saw Mo Beichen. However, she was convinced that Mo Beichen would be on her side. After all, he had been cheated o. It’s no doubt that he would find Xia Weilan annoying.

But the next second, Mo Beichen walk next to Xia Weilan and took her hands. He gave everyone a cold stare and asked, “Who is spreading rumours around in the office?! Whoever had the nerve to give Weilan a hard time means they are at odds with me!” 

Xiao Xiao’s felt as if she had been struck by lightning. 

Weren’t they at odds? Why is it different from what she heard from Liu Yinyin? D*mn, could it be that Liu Yinyin had set her up?

Mo Beichen lowered his head and noticed a large patch of water stain on Xia Weilan’s clothes, “Who did this?”                       

The crowd collectively took a step back, leaving only Xiao Xiao who failed to react on time.

“President Mo, this…this…this is a misunderstanding.” Xiao Xiao went pale.

Mo Beichen’s terrifying gaze fell on Xiao Xiao. Without giving her a chance to explain herself, he ordered, “You’re fired.”

“Wow!” Those who gathered around watching the commotion gasped.

Xiao Xiao looked as though the sky had collapsed. In order to do well in such a good company, she put in a lot of effort from her internship to her current position. She can’t get fired like this.

However, a few security guards were already there and escorted her out without another word.

“No…no…you can’t fire me. President Mo, please, let me explain.” 

Xiao Xiao’s screams became distant.

Xia Weilan moved her hand, trying to shake off Mo Beichen’s wrist. But she noticed that she couldn’t do so.

The reason why she was so confident just now was not because of Mo Beichen, it was because she knew that Old Master Mo would not let her feel wronged.

“Come with me.” Mo Beichen was about to leave but Xia Weilan refused to follow him.

“How are you going to work like this? Do you want to catch a cold? Go change your clothing.”

The employees all saw Mo Beichen’s attitude towards Xia Weilan with their own eyes. How could they not understand that earlier on, those were not rumours at all, they were definitely rubbish.

In the president’s office.

Xu Wei quickly brought a new set of clothes over, “Young madam, here.”

Xia Weilan took the clothes and went into the lounge. She closed the door and rustling sounds were heard coming from inside of the room. 

When Xia Weilan came out, Mo Beichen handed her a tube of ointment, “Apply this ointment, it won’t leave a scar.”

Mo Beichen was referring to the bite mark on her shoulder. 

Xia Weilan took the ointment. She nodded and said, “I’m leaving.”

“Weilan!” Mo Beichen’s heart sank, “I know that you are still angry with me. But you shouldn’t force yourself to deal with all this alone. If anyone is giving you a hard time, you should come to me. Otherwise, I’ll be distressed.” 

Xia Weilan moved her lips, wanting to tell him that she had already forgiven him. However, she can’t bring herself to say it and she left without saying anything.

When Xia Weilan returned to the advertising department, someone walked up to her with her head hung low and said, “I’m sorry for what happened earlier on.”

Xia Weilan curled her lips, “Okay.”

That colleague is a direct and straightforward person who usually sees bad people or things as enemies. At this instant, she realized that she had done something wrong and she couldn’t help but immediately apologize to Xia Weilan. 

Xia Weilan wore a faint expression. She gave a brief response and went inside her office. 

Zhou Lanxin stared at her very unwillingly. She couldn’t understand why the person wanted to apologize to someone like Xia Weilan? Even if President Mo doesn’t haggle about it, it doesn’t mean that it never happened.

Xia Weilan entered the office and she already knew.

Although she didn’t say much just now, she remembered the expressions of several colleagues outside. Through this incident, Xia Weilan could also see who was siding with Liu Yinyin. Zhou Lanxin, this person will never stop. She could already tell from the look of hatred on her face just now.

Meanwhile at the Mo Family’s old mansion.

Liu Yinyin returned to the ancestral hall and continued to kneel.

This time, the butler was supervising her personally and she couldn’t even take a short break.

As soon as he left, a new maid came over to supervise Liu Yinyin. Liu Yinyin immediately moved her body and glared at the maid. The maid usually listened to her and she didn’t dare to say anything. She immediately lowered her head.

Liu Yinyin groaned while sitting on the ground, rubbing her feet.

During noon, the Old Master saw that it’s about time for lunch. Since Liu Yinyin had already knelt all morning, it was time to let her have a good meal so that her body wouldn’t get too weak. 

The old master thought as he walked towards the ancestral hall thinking so.

But when he reached the door, he saw Liu Yinyin sitting on a chair beside her, playing with her mobile phone with her head down.

Liu Yinyin stood up immediately and knelt on the ground again, “Grandpa, I was wrong.”

The old master summoned the butler, “Keep a close watch on her. If she dares to slack off, we’ll top up the punishment.”

Liu Yinyin secretly cursed her luck, but she didn’t dare to make a sound.

At first, the old master thought of asking her to take lunch. Now, there’s no need for that anymore. He immediately said, “Eat your lunch while you kneel.”

This time, Liu Yinyin felt even more upset. Her feet were killing her and she even had to eat like this!
