Assassin Initiate

With the blasts, the whole building shook a little. I nearly fell down. The whole staff was in chaos and ran towards the elevator. I ran with them, but all the elevators were full. I thought about cursing them, but held back. With nothing coming to my mind, my gaze started to turn gaze here and there in hope of finding something. There I caught sight of the fire escape. I ran towards it and entered. After looking down from the stairs, my whole view was filled with flight of stairs going downwards. Few of the smart people were going down from it. As my department was located at the 23rd floor, going down will certainly take time. This is going to be exhausting.

I started running down. One floor.....five floors.....ten floors.....just going down and down.

When I reached 7th floor, I was too tired. Let's stop and catch some breadth.

*Ring* *Ring*

Who's calling me at this time?

Looking at the caller ID, it was Lucy. I am having a bad premonition. I picked up the phone and came sounds of,

*bang* *bang*

gunshots.

And not just a few, but many. Is that the sound of an assault rifle??

"Hello Jason.....*bang* *bang*....are you at Abstergo? I need some help." Amidst gun shots, Lucy said.

How should I respond to this? Let's just take one step at a time.

"Um, Yeaaah, I'm at Abstergo." I replied while hesitating.

"Great. Whe.....*BOOM*..." That was definitely a grenade explosion. I'm sure of it. Just what is this woman doing and where is she to get in a gunfight.

"Sorry for that. I was asking where are you in the building?" After interruption, her voice came back.

"I'm in the fire exit. 7th floor."

"Great. Now take the fire exit till B3 floor. I just want you to do one thing."

"But as far as I know, there is no way to bas.e.m.e.nts from the fire exit."

"There is. When you reach the ground floor, instead of turning towards the exit door, turn back towards the wall where the way to downstairs is supposed to be. there you will find another do....*bang*....door but with a pin lock. Enter 7259 and you will get access. Rest I will tell you when you will reach there. I'm quite busy here you see. Just hurry up." She instructed me and ended the call.

After that, I started running downstairs and reached the door Lucy told me about. And unexpectedly, there is a door there, in the corner, just below the stairs. I entered the pin and it opened.

I entered it and the door closed behind automatically. I got scared for a sec, but then my eyes caught sight another one of those pin locks. *sigh* I sighed in relief and turned my gaze towards the stairs.

These stairs were completely different from the earlier ones. The paint here was grey, and with the red emergency lights at the foot of stairs made the stairs look creepy.

Just who is Lucy?? She even know a way like this in a Templar organization. Could she actually be a Templar? But judging by how much Shaun and Rebecca trust her it seems impossible. But what if even Shaun and Rebecca are with her in this?

Lets leave these doubts for later. I should call Lucy.

"You reached the B levels?" First thing she asks me this, must be in a hurry.

"No, I'm at the door you told me about."

"Just come downstairs till you reach B3. You will see it on the wall. Call me once you are there, but don't enter it."

"Got it." Hmm, no more gunshots, did she ran away?

I started going downstairs, but slowly. This eerie silence made me think it's better to walk than run.

I reached the B3. A big green poster with equally big B3 told me this. I once again called Lucy.

"Now, first make sure your face is covered. You don't want to be captured in cameras. And also walk weirdly, just not in your usual gait. You need to reach a nearby terminal and get a total access. A terminal will be embedded in wall. It will have a small screen with a keyboard in it. "

"Don't cut the call, I'm going now." I only took off my blazer and put it over me, with only a gap left in he middle for me to look from. While imagining how a girl will run away from a c.o.c.kroach and copying, I started walking towards the door. I first peek from the glass pane to check. Finding no one I entered. I'm currently standing in a long corridor, the corridor have the same red emergency lights like in fire exit.

"Where should I go now Lucy?"

"Just pick a direction and start walking."

Turning my head towards right, I saw an intersection and started walking there.

Reaching the intersection, I peeked and saw nobody.

Damn, where is everyone. Why is the whole place empty??

Turning left from intersection, I started walking towards the sole white light at the end of hallway.

Reaching it, I saw....people. Many people sleeping, in animus. This place seems like a big expanse of space. Turning my gaze from left to right, there were just people in animus.

The animus were divided just like compartments in our department, but were totally made up of glass, so it was possible to see the person sleeping.

"Hey, what are you doing. Why so silent suddenly?" Lucy's voice broke me out of my shock.

"Sorry, I was just in shock seeing this many people in aminus."

"Oh.....at least you have seen the true nature of Templars, even if just a little."

"Yeah....and I found the terminal you were talking about. Just tell me what should I do."

While I was scanning the big hall, I caught sight of it near my left.

"Great. Now just follow my instructions."

I started to follow every thing she told me and did the things step by step. The thing she wanted to do was to lock-down the lower levels. The reason she gave about this is that, she is in a building and is being pursued by a large amount of guards. If the doors are locked after her escaping, she might break the pursuit.

Completing all this, she said,

"Now Jason, run away as fast as you can. Just go through the same way and then act like usual. Remember to not wear the jacket, and if possible, throw it someplace."

After exiting the building, I directly started walking towards the bus stop.

There was a big crowd at the building entrance. Using that as a cover, I left quietly and went home.

Reaching home, mother asked me why was I early, I just said there was an accident at the company.

At evening I head towards the warehouse.

The first thing I saw uptairs was a lounge chair type animus in the hall and a person was laying on it. I remember him. Desmond Miles. Rebecca was near the chair looking at the screen near the animus.

I didn't disturbed her and searched for Lucy. Lucy came from another one of room at the back with a file in her hand. her hand had some bandages wrapped around, and a band-aid on her right cheek. She looks fine overall.

"So care to explain about today." I asked her directly.

"Sorry about today." Lucy said while apologizing.

She explained that last night she received a news stating that Desmond had ancestors which came in contact with the Pieces of Eden, and the Templar might reach them first if not stopped them. Then formed the plan of kidnapping Desmond. The result, they kidnapped Desmond and bought him here.

Waiting there for some time and having some talk with Shaun and Rebecca, I headed towards home. Desmond was in the animus the whole time.

After reaching home, I had dinner. After that I went to roof and started thinking about today's events.

There is no way Lucy was able to kidnap Desmond from Templars this easily and right from under their noses. Those gunshots and those grenade explosions, they might me fake. But why? What was her goal? Goal.....goal...!!!!! Desmond!!!!. She might be faking it for Desmond.

Thinking these, my face turned grim.

I had my doubts when she told me about the bas.e.m.e.nt password, and that increased after her story.

Looks like there is more than it meets the eye about Lucy. I should be careful about her.
