An Inevitable Fate?

Chapter 72 - 72: The press conference. (3)

Her eyes bulged with surprise. She wanted to push him but her hands were tied at the back. She couldn't kick him as well due to her kneeling position.

She whimpered, trying to shake her head in protest. But her attempts failed tragically.

The man looked like a woman with fair skin but his strength was extraordinary. He kept her face in position using a little pressure.

Just as she was about to faint due to lack of oxygen, the man let her go.

They both were gasping for air.

Moving back a little, Dan observed her face.

Her face had turned bright red due to shock and lack of oxygen. Her eyes were filled with tears. All in all, she looked like a real victim who had 'suffered' a lot!

He was satisfied with his masterpiece.

Before she could process what was going on, a flash blinded her vision for a second.

She opened her eyes and saw the man gloating for some reason.

"What... What did you do just now?"

She stammered! That was new!

"Well, well, you look scared babe. Why? What happened to your I-don't-care attitude?"

The man teased her! Her face turned even redder due to embarrassment.

How could she tell him that it was her first kiss? She would never admit it though she felt like strangling him.

She had lost her precious first kiss to a kidnapper. How annoying!

Seeing her gritting her teeth in anger, the man shook his head in pity.

"You should be thankful to me. My boss asked me to take a 'video' of you and send it to your sister. Tsk, I spared you from getting molested. Shouldn't you thank me?"

He just didn't want to deal with a college girl. This was his first time kidnapping a college girl and he was at a loss to manage her.

'Huh! You want me to thank you? After you stole my first kiss? You must be having a death wish!'

This was what she wanted to tell him but after reading many novels, she was aware of not to provoke the kidnaper.

Dan sent a photo of hers to Rachel's number. After sending it, he took out the sim card and crushed it with his hands. He didn't want to take a chance of getting traced back.

He went to sleep on the couch after inserting a new sim card.

Jane was sitting on the floor crossing her legs. She pondered before asking a question that was drilling her head from the start.

"What deal are you making with my sister?"

The man didn't even acknowledge her presence let alone answer her.

When she thought the man won't speak, finally Dan spoke.

"Nothing much, she should listen to our boss, if she wants you back, safe and sound."

Jane's mouth twitched.

"Can you be more specific?"

He finally removed the hand that was resting on the forehead.

"Our boss has asked her to-"

Before he could complete his sentence, Jane cut him off.

"Nevermind, I don't want to hear it. Why would she agree to your boss to save me? It's not like she cares about us. If you think your plan works, then I'm sorry, you have got the wrong person."

She deadpanned.

Though she tried to be monotomous, there was an intense hurt in her voice.

Dan starred at her with utter disbelief.

"Don't you want to know what she is sacrificing to safeguard your family?"

Jane scoffed.

That was the last thing she wanted to know.

The phone in his pocket vibrated.

It was a message from his boss. He knew that the deal was done.

He put the phone away while shaking his head.

"Tsk, you don't deserve your sister. She went all the way to ruin her life to save yours. But, look at you, resenting her."

He raised her chin with his index finger, staring at her eyes a little longer than needed.

"I'm disgusted!"

He pushed her chin with force, making her fall on her back.

He, as an outsider, felt bad for the girl out there, struggling to keep everyone safe. But here, her sister was loathing her.

He didn't know the valid reason for his boss to go all the way, ruining an innocent girl's life.

His boss had never done wrong to innocent people but since he had taken to this extent, there must be some unexplainable truth.

His boss had treated him like his own son always, other than some occasions, like today. He was involved in other past activities, but this was the very first time he didn't know the purpose of the act.

Nevertheless, he had pledged to support him throughout his life even if it meant to sacrifice his own life.

After all, his life was a gift from his boss.
