An Inevitable Fate?

Chapter 5 - 5: My girl! (1)

After the engagement, the couple went to greet the guests along with Colin and Gabriel.

"Oh my, look at you both. Perfectly made for each other. Congratulations! both of you."

"Yeah, you are right. They would make a great couple in the future. Congratulations on your engagement. Live a happy and prosperous life!"

Everyone complimented their pair. Who doesn't? After all, they both were in their early twenties.

Rachel was a beautiful young girl. She was working as a project manager in her father-in-law's company. Though she was young, she had earned her name with her hard work.

On the other hand, Darren was a 27-year-old man who was running his father's company. He was tall, handsome and humble. He was ambitious towards his career.

The reason for Colin to choose him to marry Rachel was mainly because he was his son, Eric's childhood friend. He thought it was the right decision as Darren knew Rachel from his childhood.

While talking to the guests, Colin noticed an important person. He excitedly took the couple to him. "Hi, uncle. How have you been all these years?"

That man said, "You brat. After forgetting all these years, now you are asking about my well being? Is this what your dad had taught you?"

"Uncle, forgive me this once. I heard your whole family came back from the U.S one week back. I couldn't visit because of this engagement work. "

He turned towards the couple. "Meet Mr. Lee Mathew. He was my father's comrade in the army. They both served for 30 years. After my father passed away in one of his mission, uncle took voluntary retirement from the army. He is one of the greatest person I have seen. Uncle this is my daughter Rachel and son-in-law, Darren."

"Hey! brat, stop bragging about me." Facing the couple, "Look at your daughter. She's all grown up. Rachel, grandpa missed you a lot. Although you might not remember me as you were still a small kid when I left for the U.S. I hope you both will have a bright future. Congratulations kids."

"Hi, grandpa. Thank you for your blessings." both replied. Colin also introduced his daughter Jane who came and stood next to him.

Just then they heard a voice. "Father, have you seen the boys anywhere? Just now they were here but suddenly got disappeared."

Grandpa Mathew said, "Come here, Gina." Turning towards the couple he said,

"She is my daughter-in-law, Gina. Gina, this is Rachel and her fiance, Darren. You were eagerly waiting to meet them right?"

Gina said, "Of course. Although this is my first time seeing her, I can already tell she is such a sweet girl. Oh, you must be Jane? You look exactly like your mother. Beautiful indeed!"

Both the girls blushed. Jane replied with a wink, "Thank you, aunty. You look so young!"

Gina, who was 51 years old looked a lot younger than her age. Due to her well maintained skin and body, she almost looked like a lady in her 30's.

Colin cleared his throat hearing Jane's reply. 'This brat! She never fails to embarrass me'

"Mom! I was searching for you from that time." Everyone turned towards the source of the voice.

A handsome teenager in a light pink suit with a white inner shirt came running. He had blonde hair which was styled into spikes. He had a baby face which could make one mistake him for an innocent person. Innocent? was he?... Of course not!

Gina said, "Stop it! Don't overreact. I saw how you guys escaped from my sight. Right, where is Aaron? Call him."

Hearing the familiar name, Rachel had a bad feeling about that.

'He can't be the same person right?'

"He-he mom. Brother was behind me but...there, he came !" said Alan.

Aaron reached and stood next to his mom. He was wearing a three-piece black suit with a white shirt inside and a cute little red bow matching his mother's dress. Standing together, they almost looked like a couple. He looked a lot taller than before with long legs and a perfect jawline. His black hair was little messed up with few strands on his forehead. There was a diamond stud on his left ear. With a devil's grin on his attractive face, he looked like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Too dangerous!

Pointing towards her sons, "This is my elder son, Lee Aaron and younger son, Lee Alan. Both of you, meet Rachel and Jane, daughters of uncle Colin. Darren, Rachel's fiance. Or should I call them as Mr. and Mrs. Darren? ha-ha" Gina introduced enthusiastically.

Rachel stood without any movements.

'This should be some kind of a dream. A dreadful dream!'
