An Inevitable Fate?

Chapter 25 - 25: After a long time. (3)

As it was a weekend, the staff weren't there. He had to deal with some personal issues, hence he had come to the office. Especially, the person he would be meeting today. He had to take a special note.

When he saw the time, it startled him. It was already 7 pm. He hastily stood up, taking his leather jacket from the coat hanger. Since it was not a working day, he didn't bother to wear a suit.

He dashed out of the office and strode towards the lift. He started his car and drove in the direction of the Grand hotel. All the way, his blood was boiling, remembering the conversation. He took a few deep breaths to calm down. He needed to handle this carefully.

He parked his car in front of the building and waited for that person. As expected, around 8.35 pm, an Audi car pulled towards the entrance.

A man wearing an expensive suit climbed down the car. A woman in a mini skirt which barely covered her a.s.s, went around the car to support that man. They both entered the hotel, staggering.

Inside the car, Aaron smirked. He took out a cigarette to distract himself. He wasn't a heavy smoker, but he needed one to control his anger, to divert his mind.

His mind was filled with the picture of the man and the woman being intimate. His anger rose again. He took some deep puffs to subdue it. He coughed as he inhaled suddenly. Only then he realized, his car was filled with cigarette smell and smoke. He had smoked quite a few this time.

An incoming call pulled him back to reality.

"Speak,"

"Room no.3284 sir,"

Aaron grunted in response before ending the call. He saw the time and he had passed some 45 minutes in his car. He was impressed by his self-control.

He extinguished the cigarette by taking the last puff and got down from the car. He strode steadily towards the entrance and got inside the lift.

The lift reached the 5th floor and got opened with a ding sound. He walked along the silent corridor and soon, reached the destination.

He knocked on the door with a steady rhythm. After waiting for a few seconds, he knocked again. But the person inside didn't show any signs of opening the door. Still, he continued to knock.

After a few minutes, the door flew open. There stood a man in a white bathrobe, water dripping from his hair.

Darren's eyes went wide. He thought that he might be hallucinating. Otherwise, how in the world could Aaron, out of all the people, be here. He shook his head to clear his thoughts.

"You enjoyed your time, I guess," There was a mockery in Aaron's voice. He pushed Darren aside and entered the room.

Darren who was baffled by the sudden appearance found his lost voice.

"What are you doing here?" His voice sounded hoarse.

Aaron didn't reply but simply sat on the sofa with one leg crossed over the other. Seeing his nonchalant attitude, Darren got infuriated.

"I am asking you only," He roared.

At that time, the door to the bathroom got opened and a woman in a white bathrobe exited.

"Babe, who is this?" The woman asked, without even bothering to conceal the awestruck expression.

Finally, Aaron faced Darren with a piercing gaze. A chill ran down on Darren's body. He understood that he had crossed the line and he could never turn back.

"I wanted to play fair, but, you have lost before the game could begin, brace yourself for the worst," Aaron spoke in a bone-chilling voice.

Darren chuckled sinisterly as he spoke,

"So, what do you plan to do? You will tell Rachel about this?"

He didn't try to cover himself anymore as his secrets were exposed. Now he could go to any lengths to get Rachel.

"What are you? A two-year-old kid, to think like this? Tsk!" Aaron shook his head in disbelief.

"Then?" Darren narrowed his eyes.

Before Aaron could reply, Darren's phone rang. It showed an unknown number. He cautiously answered.

After ending the call, there was a victorious smile on his face. Aaron knew nothing good could have happened. As expected,

"Apparently, Rachel has gone out with her friend and has got herself drunk. Her friend had called me to inform this. As her fiance, I should go to pick her up. Tsk! Tsk!"

Darren walked and stood tall in front of Aaron. After patting Aaron's shoulder, he walked past him into the room.

But he halted his steps and turned back to speak as he remembered something.

"About our game, should I say, it's 1:0 ?" He mocked.
