A Second Life

Chapter 5 - 5. A Brand New Day

"All books are in there?"

"Yes."

"Stationary supplies?"

"All present."

"Socks?"

"Paired."

"Mobile phone?"

"Properly charged."

"Sanitary?"

"...there."

"You're uniform?"

"Pressed and folded."

"Chocolates?"

"There-" But before Sumire could answer, Kiyoko cut in.

"STOP THAT RIGHT NOW! SAKAKI BAA-SAN, IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD YET!...huff...huff." Kiyoko said, sounded rather pissed.

"There's nothing wrong in being prepared, Kiyoko-chan." Mrs Sakaki stated flatly.

"Yeah, can't I get some sleep now? Its 11 now. Heck, even Sumire nee-san should probably get some sleep! So out, shoo, shoo." Kiyoko instantly started throwing tantrums. No one could manage the girl's tantrums, so Mrs Sakaki left.

Sumire sighed at the girl, feeling a tad bit helpless.

"You know, I generously helped you out there."

"But you're being rude, Kiyoko-chan."

"And baa-san was like, way overboard!"

"Sigh...sleep now." Sumire carefully tucked the little girl to sleep and checked out the official rankings of the entrance exam.

Total 20 students she would be for the next three years. 'Is the mouse disregarding the rules, or me?' Sumire thought... Sumire thought she would be placed in the 1-B class, as there were only 17 students placed in it.

'Like it changes anything…'

Sumire thought. She then began, 'her' preparations…which was analysing her classmates by the way.

Their quirk details, strengths, weaknesses, history, secret crush, etc., everything was available before Sumire.

There's no need to ask how she did it, then again, no one can deny her skills as a member(ex) of 12th division. A rather high ranking one at that.

Midoriya Izuku...this particular person's data was a bit spooky. If she remembered well, he would be the green broccoli. This person's quirk seemed to have appeared recently...how interesting…

After some thinking, she concluded she would be able to maintain her 'scholarship', her new classmates weren't going to pose a threat to her.

Thinking up to here, Sumire started meditating, since she was incapable of sleeping since a long time…it helped her. She felt refreshed and her spiritual power increased, though in an almost negligible amount…

Morning, the sun shone brilliantly, issuing a new day for all the earthlings. Sumire was no different. She was an early bird.

She got up, washed, had breakfast and was ready to attend the first day of her school. Mrs Sakaki was once again close to sentimental tears when she saw her in the gorgeous uniform but still managed to braid Sumire's hair. She joked,

"Why always plait your hair, Sumire-chan? There are so many new hairstyles, any of them would naturally suit you!"

"I simply like it this way."

"If you like it."

Sumire entered her room for one last time before going off to school and she found Kiyoko awake and almost ready.

"You're awake and ready, that's new."

"I will now from today onwards."

"Oh is that so?"

"Yeah and you're going to set my hair and drop me in school today and henceforth."

"Alright, what hairstyle do you want?"

"Simple braids are enough."

"Roger."

Sumire swiftly styled Kiyoko's hair, thinking that it was too plain, she put two cute butterfly clips on each side.

"You put some clips too!" Kiyoko demanded.

"Fine." Sumire obliged and put on a simple flower type clip.

They both walked out together holding their hands.

Two girls, very pretty in their own rights, was a sight worth seeing. Hence, the onlookers couldn't help but take another glance at them, not their fault, these two were quite beautiful, definitely worth taking a second look.

'What a cute pair of sisters…' they thought.

As they sighted a primary school, Sumire couldn't help but say,

"I guess we're pretty early." there was only the school guard present.

"It's okay, I'll play in the swing till everyone comes." Kiyoko said, trying to reassure.

A sigh escaped from Sumire. She bent down, reaching Kiyoko's height.

"If you feel anything weird or suspicious, you know what to do right?"

"Call the teacher and ask for help."

"And if it isn't helping?"

"The secret move you thought me." Kiyoko whispered excitedly.

"Only when it is absolutely necessary."

"En."

Sumire gathered the girl into a hug and wished her luck for the new day. Kiyoko waved her hands and went towards the swing, feeling a little excited for the new class…

When a teacher finally reached the school, Sumire greeted her and was on her way.

Along the way, she saw a particular boy, wearing the uniform of the same school. He had a frown face and didn't look like a nice option to chat, so Sumire lessened her presence.

Hence only when they reached, their classroom did he notice her. And it spooked him.

"Hey, you! When the hell did you come?"

"Same time as you." A tranquil voice replied, somehow offering the ability to soothe others.

"Then why wasn't I able to see you?" the boy asked, a bit less-rudely this time.

"Not my fault."

"Look at the face when you speak, damn it!" The was enraged. Sumire's short replies with no genuine meaning seemed to successfully vex him.

"What's your problem with me?" Sumire asked, not wanting to make an enemy out of her classmate...yet.

"...!"

The boy was a bit shocked when he saw her. Not his fault, she was breathtaking after all.

She had these pair of green eyes. They looked melancholic but mesmerize your soul, nonetheless. Her hair was pulled back into long braid, with slightly parted bangs adorned by little flowery clips and revealing her face. Which looked sculpted by an undisputed master.

And when she looked right into your eyes, you wouldn't find words coming out of your mouth easily. It happened many times with the new people who approach her, enough for Sumire to recognize her need to talk in such situations.

"Hello? Are you there?"

"W-What!"

"You require something from me?"

"No! N-Nothing!"

"Okay then, I'll go back to my place."

Sumire did what she said. She sat on her table near the wall, pulling out her phone and started playing (definitely not) with it.

The boy was in a daze but quickly snapped back to reality. Thinking about his recent actions, he felt embarrassed, for the first time in his life.

It was a big deal to him because he, Bakugou Katsuki stuttered, a massive deal. It horrified him. He quickly put the girl on his 'danger list.' She is holding a top seat in it. Bakugou being Bakugou, quickly gained his cool back. He thought about everything and reached to a satisfactory conclusion. 'Her quirk must be seduction, no, she's a demon! Yes, that makes sense!'

And he couldn't be any more wrong about it. Poor kid has no idea how much he underestimated her...
