Licinius’s actions really stunned everyone.

Those who originally felt a huge shame, and even swore in their hearts that they would kill him in the future, all showed blank expressions on their faces, wondering whether this dude had fallen into madness

Even Principal Bann and Major Hayden outside the academy were stunned.

The parents of those civilians were even more speechless, and there was a trace of confusion amidst their distress.

The thugs looked at each other, always feeling that something was amiss.

“How about it? I’ll give you a minute to think about it.”

Licinius looked down at them with a very serious expression, “Do you want to exchange?”

Noren glanced at him silently but said nothing.

One of the good things about this girl is that she doesn’t talk much, or talk back to orders. As long as it is the young master’s order by choice, she will accept it.

The clown leader raised his head and said word by word, “Are you playing tricks?”

Licinius looked at him and asked, “Why do you think I’m playing tricks?”

“Nonsense! You are a noble, and you get nothing for risking your life to save a bunch of commoners. Do you just want your family to give out 100,000 gold coins? Did you slam your head at the door? Don’t think that I don’t know, 100,000 gold coins are a lot even for the Valerius family, it’s not something that can be thrown away casually.” The clown leader said coldly.

“Oh, that’s how it is.”

Licinius smiled and said, “Well, firstly, I know you won’t kill me and only settle for money. If you do make a foolish move, my girl here will have your heads snapped quicker than you could kneel on the ground.”

The clown leader didn’t speak as it was true.

“Secondly, of course I’ll have a reason for trading myself for these commoners.”

Licinius looked at the captured civilians and smiled,

“Our Valerius family is a business family. Since we are businessmen, we must make money. Although these commoners are not valuable by themselves, their labour force is still very good. But they are arrogant to the bone… it’s difficult for me to pay for them.”

The civilian teachers and students who were squatting on the ground were taken aback.

Even the clown thugs were stunned.

“It’s rare to have such a good opportunity to make them owe me an astronomical sum to do things for my Valerius family. Why wouldn’t I do it? Of course, buying these people is just incidental.” Licinius paused,

“The most important point though, I want Triya.”

At this moment, everyone understood what he was thinking.

He is trying to take advantage of the situation!

Cecil’s expression changed greatly, staring at the boy upstairs and gritting his teeth. He spat out one word with passion.

Bastard!

The clown leader turned to look at the girl by the fountain and narrowed his eyes.

It has to be said, Triya is a very beautiful girl, she has long puffy golden hair, a simple white dress outlines her plump and graceful figure, her skin is as fine as cream and she has a smooth oval face. A little tear hangs in the corner of her beautiful sky blue eyes… so pitiful.

In this academy, only Noren can compare to her in terms of beauty, dwarfing every other girl around.

“Triya is a good girl, and it’s hard to buy that kind of girl with money, but this is different. It was our Valerius family who saved her life and allowed her to take on the debt.”

Licinius smiled and said, “Couldn’t I do whatever I want then?”

Triya heard the words and a trace of water mist appeared in her beautiful sky blue eyes as she glanced at him faintly.

Even though she was treated as a trade item, she didn’t say anything.

The clown leader was silent for a few seconds, “But even so, Master Licinius doesn’t have to risk his own life, right? Your Valerius family has money, so why not just give it here and redeem these people?”

Licinius snorted, “Stupid, do you think my father will allow me to spend 100,000 gold coins to buy a group of commoners? He will only think that I’m crazy. I like Triya, but it does not mean that my father will agree. So, you have to hold me hostage to get my father to pay, understand?”

Everyone gasped!

To even screw with his own father, what a terrible son!

“Young master.”

Noren said with an expressionless face, “You are really pathetic to me.”

“Hahaha, that’s too much.”

Licinius was lying on the side of the window with his hands on the edge of the window, overlooking the thugs below,

“Have you considered it? If you hold me hostage, I can use remote communication magic to notify my father and ask him to bring the ransom money. Otherwise, you may end up with this mob of pariahs.”

“…”

The Clown Leader was in a desperate tangle.

Everyone looked to these thugs with hope. Although they may have to bear huge debts in the future, it is better to survive than to die here. And just like that, the flame of hope was ignited once more.

Cecil and the others said coldly, “Bah! Licinius, you villain! Even if we die and are killed here by these thugs, we will never appreciate what you’ve done!”

Ten minutes later, the hostages who escaped death walked out of the school gate, hugged and cried bitterly with their family members who were by the gate, and were then taken away and protected by the garrison guards who rushed up.

Cecil and his friends stood in the middle of the crowd awkwardly, grim-faced and embarrassed.

Despite their tough talk, the mob eventually released them instead of leaving them to dust.

The experience, however, was exceptionally humiliating for them.

The so-called elite of the commoners were actually rescued by a dandy aristocrat in the end!

“So, is the matter settled then?”

Principal Bann smacked his tongue and said, “I didn’t expect that Licinius would actually rescue everyone this way. Although his reasons are impure, in the end, he did a good thing.”

He also knew very well that no one would spend 100,000 gold coins to save these people.

A violent rescue would definitely require some sacrifice.

This was the best-case scenario.

“A child of the Valerius family?”

Major Hayden showed admiration and said softly, “Interesting, he’s got a rare talent.”

“Next, as long as the ransom is paid, Master Licinius will be able to come back safe and sound?” Principal Bann remembered that the last student kidnapped was the biggest noble in the academy.

If something goes wrong, he can’t afford to bear that responsibility.

Only then did people remember that the aristocratic young master is still being held hostage by thugs.

Although they were rescued by the noble young master, the thought of the debts they will bear in the future…

How can one be happy?

Major Hayden was silent.

“Major?”

Principal Bann murmured a little when he saw that he did not speak.

Major Hayden came back to his senses, “Is this really the case? I always thought that things are not that simple. Headmaster, you don’t know much about the Valerius family, so you don’t know Master Licinius’s status within his family, let alone the character of that Valerius Patriarch.”

Principal Bann had an ominous premonition, “What do you mean?”

“Master Licinius mostly deceived them.”

Major Hayden smiled: “He didn’t intend to pay the ransom to the thugs.”

Principal Bann was shocked, “What! Isn’t Master Licinius in danger?”

If Master Licinius dies…

At this moment, the old principal felt that the sky was about to fall.
