You Are My Colour Palette

"Mrs Lee, you don't have to be so formal. We will be a family soon." Yang Li Wei waves her hand to gesture Lee Jia Ying's head to raise.

"You look like you haven't aged a day, Madam Zhao." Lee Jia Ying sits down beside Qin Yang and Yang Li Wei and smiles innocently.

"Oh please, I'm too old for you to say that. Save it for yourself. " the corner of Yang Li Wei's mouth twitch.

Even though Yang Li Wei has been in the social circle for longer than Lee Jia Ying, there was always something about each other that they dislike, ever since they first met. Both of their husbands regarded as something that men can never understand. The truth is both women are just fire and water, hopefully, nothing too personal.

Zhou Qin Yang was feeling unsure about the current atmosphere, it felt like two cats growling at each other. She laughed instead pretending not to know how to read the situation, holding both women's hands " Back to the topic, I am hoping to get something simple to bring out my natural beauty. For the colours, I thought of either white, beige, or light pink. What do you think?"

"I think it's best you take white." Yang Li Wei suggests.

Lee Jia Ying nods, agreeing to the suggestion, "What colour dresses will your bridesmaids have?"

Zhou Qin Yang froze, she realized she did not think about having bridesmaids. She was so caught up with other things for the wedding and her work. "Are you okay dear?" Lee Jia Ying asked, seeing her daughter in law's face suddenly turn pale.

She shakes her head " Ahahaha... right... I should take white. For my bridesmaids, I will ask them later."

The young staff on standby smiled " Should we try on some dresses first?"

Zhang Li Li nods her head, massaging the back of her neck "Get me the files for the patients I have tomorrow, also the old lady that came in yesterday, her report is out. Put all of them on my desk."

The young nurse writing down the list of things to do, making sure she doesn't forget " Anything else, Doctor Zhang? The next patient will arrive in the evening, around 6 pm"

Looking up at the clock on the wall, she sighs " Get me a cup of mocha. I will be resting in my room, wake me up when you arrived along with the files.

"Yes, Doctor Zhang. Right away."

Dragging her tired feet into her office, closing the door behind her, she yawns. After having 2 surgeries back to back, Zhang Li Li was exhausted. She slumps into her chair, her shoulders relax until her phone suddenly rang. She immediately jolted up and picked up her phone without hesitation, preparing to go back to her work " Hello? Doctor Zhang here."

A familiar voice replied with a chuckle " Were you slacking? You sound frantic."

Zhang Li Li sighs, relaxing her shoulder once more and regain herself " I never slack my work, I am just resting right now. "I hope I am not interrupting your rest. I wanna ask if you want to go out on a lunch date with me?" Zhou Qin Yang asks.

"Hold on..." Zhang Li Li flips through her calendar to check her schedule, tracing her ruler down the days of the week " I am free this weekend, I took two days off."

"Great! See you then? I will message you the location later."

"Alright. Why the sudden invitation?"

"Nothing ~ Just want to catch up with my best friend." she hums in reply.
