All the subordinates in the general’s mansion, after yesterday’s incident (west yards punishment), were like spooked chicken; restless and filled with terror. They were all frightened when they gathered early in the morning. Even the people sent by the minister couldn’t relax. Initially, however, they were fearless and confident in saving themselves, but once the young lady and even the emperor’s people were being punished, the meagre clout they had all vanished; It wasn’t just about saving themselves anymore.

So when they all entered the house and saw Su Tang, who was sitting idly, drinking tea, one by one, they all hurriedly knelt to greet her.

Su Tang glanced at the densely packed crowd of around sixty to seventy subordinates, wondering why they had come in such numbers, but more so, what she should say to them?

Su Tang tapped her fingers as she calculated in her mind.

As soon as Su Tang went silent, they became even more anxious. Young Madam, if you have something to say, just say it, don’t just think about it. It’s so damn scary!

When everyone’s knees were beginning to hurt, Su Tang spoke. They saw that she had a vapid expression on her; without any ripples or fluctuations. Her eyebrows were calm and tranquil as if she did not put anyone in her eyes. She wanted others to understand that she had packed and cleaned this place of Ruyi yesterday, and that was akin to her just killing monkeys and tamarins, so let’s not continue this fierce battle again today.

If I leave this place in the future, I will leave here as a formidable legend!

Su Tang coughed and said slowly: “I have been in this house for a few days. So, I haven’t been able to recognize all the people here. I happen to be free today, so I summoned you all.”

Su Tang paused and said, “Everyone should know about the Xi Yuan incident yesterday. I like smart people who know what to do and what to say. Since I’ve come to the general’s house, consider me your general. It’s natural for the people in the palace to not forget any incident and remember their identities, but if you forget what you are now, I will not tolerate it!”

The steady voice, but the indescribable strength behind them, coupled with her indifferent expression. Her temperament made her seem like a strong and majestic lady general.

Even Xi Que, who had been secretly observing the scene from the sidelines, was tongue-tied.

Miss is still in a state of weakness. How did she gain such momentum and become so powerful all of a sudden!

The people below all listened in utter dismay. Most of them were nails1nail: saboteur; someone who commits sabotage or deliberately causes wrecks. But in this context, it means to be a spy. sent by the courts of various provinces. They ate from the general’s kitchen and took the monthly stipend given to them by the general’s house. However, their hearts still belonged to their masters; many would sneak out to report back to their superiors. Moreover, everyone knew who these individuals were but kept silent about it; unlike everyone, Madam put the issue on the table without any regard. She didn’t fear offending people!

So powerful!

“I don’t care for your origins, and neither do I want to know about them. As for the things you did before, I won’t hold you all responsible for them. But, starting today, after I conclude my words, if any one of you has any wavering thoughts … Don’t blame me for being rude!” While she said, Su Tang’s eyes swept coldly at everyone.

The group of people felt as if they were being crushed under the weight of her gaze. They couldn’t help but shrink their necks and bend their waists.

“You have already seen the fates of the likes of Xi Yuan. Before you talk and do things, weigh your identities first! If you feel that your background isn’t as impressive as others, then hold your actions and give me peace of mind! Your masters can let you come, regardless of their enmity, but when you get to me, just be careful!” Su Tang smirked and lowered her tone, “Of course, you can also take your chances and do things behind my back. If you truly do have the ability to hide from the heavens and traverse the seas, then do so. If not, let me give you some advice: be honest!”

Su Tang looked at the people in silence and stopped to drink tea. She then swung the big stick round after round. She had to rest, and give them time to experience and let it all soak in.

Everyone’s minds were spinning as they silently thought about what Su Tang had said. The Lady couldn’t be easily provoked, and heavens weren’t afraid of the truth, this was no one’s fault! Besides, her attitude towards Ruyi was of sheer indifference. Then, wouldn’t it be better if the lady picked them and they stayed here in the general’s mansion? In fact, they had a good life here. It’s not as if they had grown tired of living here, they had a good master to serve and had a high monthly wage. Where else could they find such a good place? But they were sent here as nails, and it wouldn’t be good if they stopped reporting … otherwise, they won’t have a good future and would always have to be on their tiptoes. But if they did report and were somehow caught, how would the Madam punish them?
