Chapter 6 – The First World 6

Originally, Su Zheyan wanted to use a toothbrush to clean the robot, but Chu Shici felt embarrassed and ran to the shelf with the toothbrush to clean himself.

The system watched the scene and came over to ask him, “Didn’t you say you’re just a tin toy? You’re not afraid to be naked, but you’re afraid to take a bath in front of him?”

Chu Shici poured water onto the toothbrush and mumbled, “It’s different. I didn’t know he was around 20 before1.”

The system exclaimed, “But isn’t the male lead 23 years old this year?”

“I didn’t say anything about his age.”

“What were you trying to say… Oh my god…”

Chu Shici brushed the wheels while contemplating his life.

It truly lived up to being a small world derived from a novel.

The system looked up at the sky.

Truly living up to the little GAY who was enthusiastic about visiting the flower market during his lifetime.

Su Zheyan lay on the bed, staring at the lines on the wall absentmindedly.

The sound coming from nearby interrupted his thoughts.

Su Zheyan looked toward the bookshelf above his head, where a palm-sized robot was rubbing against a toothbrush.

The toothbrush was taller than the robot, making it inconvenient to operate.

Su Zheyan watched for a while but couldn’t resist reaching out and grabbing the robot, pressing it against the bookshelf and scrubbing vigorously.

Chu Shici struggled desperately, “Be gentle, be gentle, my skin will come off!”

Su Zheyan immediately eased his strength and coldly said, “Don’t move.”

His movements were swift, and five minutes later, the robot was completely refreshed, and it had turned white.

Su Zheyan seemed satisfied and took out a small bottle of perfume from his backpack, spraying it a few times on the little robot.

But because he sprayed too much, the smell was choking, so he opened the cabin door in the middle of the night.

He enjoyed the scent while admiring the night view with the robot.

Since the moment Chu Shici was caught taking a bath, the system had been laughing.

It had been almost ten minutes, and it was still laughing.

Chu Shici couldn’t help but ask, “What are you laughing at? Tell me so I can be happy too.”

The system laughed so hard that its spherical body trembled uncontrollably. “When he was scrubbing you, didn’t you say you were about to shed your skin? That’s not skin, that’s paint peeling! It’s so funny, I can’t take it anymore!”

Chu Shici tilted his head in confusion.

After a brief moment of thought, he tugged at Su Zheyan’s sleeve and relayed the system’s words to him.

Su Zheyan’s expression remained cold, but his eyes flickered for a moment.

Chu Shici was satisfied.

It seemed that his sense of humor was normal, and the problem lay with the system.

The nights on the desolate star were full of dangers, and the darkness seemed to conceal countless monsters.

But for Su Zheyan, alpha criminals were far more dangerous than monsters.

The Empire replaced the death penalty with exile to the desolate star.

There were only three types of people on the desolate star. One type was omega and beta individuals who violated gender regulations and joined the military.

Another type was those who betrayed national secrets and were convicted of treason.

And the most numerous were the third type of criminals.

They either committed anti-social acts that resulted in the deaths of many civilians, or they engaged in a series of rapes and murders, with a victim count exceeding ten.

Su Zheyan had been on the desolate star for five days, during which he had encountered nearly a hundred alphas. There was not a single omega or beta to be found, whether they had been tortured to death or were hiding away, he didn’t know.

Alphas formed factions and dominated the nearby resources for survival.

Meanwhile, Su Zheyan was a beta.

Whenever he went to the city to buy things, a string of walking resource packs2 automatically appeared behind him.

Loaded with supplies, he would boast, “Catch a beta, sleep with a beta.”

Except for the first day, Su Zheyan had honestly searched for resources.

In the following days, he resorted to killing people and looting their bodies. It was convenient, fast, time-saving, and labor-saving. Sometimes he even found gold coins.

Since he had nothing better to do, Su Zheyan opened his backpack, put on gloves, and started counting money.

He needed to buy some things tomorrow, so he prepared the money in advance to avoid forgetting it.

Chu Shici picked up a gold coin curiously and examined it, “Is this real gold?”

Su Zheyan remained silent.

Thinking of a common scene in costume dramas, Chu Shici held the gold coin in his mouth, about to bite it to see if he could leave a tooth mark.

Before he could do so, the coin was forcefully confiscated by someone.

In the dim light of the capsule, one could vaguely see Su Zheyan’s disdainful gaze.

“Some people hide gold coins in their shoes or socks. If you dare to bite it, I’ll throw you away,” Su Zheyan warned.

Chu Shici instinctively retorted, “How do you know that? Where did you find them?”

Su Zheyan’s expression instantly became complex, his face alternating between pale and flushed, eventually turning as dark as ink.

Just as Chu Shici thought he was about to get punched for his insolence, Su Zheyan sneered, “I do it for survival.”

After saying that, he fell silent for a long time. While counting money with his head lowered, he added in a soft voice, “I wore gloves when I searched, double layers.”

The desolate star’s night was oppressive and silent, and the sound of counting money crackled particularly loudly.

Even though Su Zheyan maintained an expressionless face, his venting actions revealed that he was in a bad mood.

Chu Shici also wanted to change the subject, but he had to bring up the matter again.

He reached out his hand and whispered, “I like sleeping with my arm as a pillow, or else I can’t fall asleep. Please wash my hand quickly; staying up all night is not good for the body.”

After he finished speaking, he faintly heard a chuckle. The laughter was so light, it seemed like his imagination.

When he looked up again, Su Zheyan still wore that cold expression.

Using a toothbrush, he carefully cleaned Chu Shici’s metal left hand, which only had four fingers.

A notification sound rang in his mind, indicating that his vitality had increased slightly.

Chu Shici noticed that Su Zheyan’s actions were somewhat gentler than before.

The system didn’t understand and asked, “How can he still be happy when he’s been angered by you?”

Chu Shici stared at Su Zheyan thoughtfully and replied, “Maybe it’s just because I’m keeping him company.”

He also remembered the first two days when he had just arrived. Su Zheyan quickly gathered supplies and rushed to eat before lying down to sleep.

At that time, Chu Shici thought the male lead was distant towards him, but now he realized that this might be Su Zheyan’s usual demeanor.

There was no order on the desolate star, and as a beta, he had no place to socialize.

Su Zheyan exhausted himself during the day, constantly wary of anyone who approached him.

At night, in this small space, he held the memento left by his father and escaped loneliness through his dreams.

Chu Shici sighed, realizing that the living conditions were so harsh, no wonder the male lead became reclusive3.

After closing the cabin door again, he rushed to Su Zheyan’s side and pulled down the antenna on top of his head.

He tuned the channel to a music station, and soothing music filled the capsule.

Su Zheyan, slightly surprised, touched the antenna and the robot clasped his finger. Its round eyes squinted, its rectangular mouth turned into a half-circle, forming a smiling expression.

Touching the small object by his side and listening to the music in his ears, his mood inexplicably improved.

Chu Shici raised his head in a daze.

The handsome man before him curved his lips slightly, revealing a shallow smile. Unlike the usual cold and mocking smiles, this time he smiled in a relaxed and gentle manner.

The light shone on him, and in his deep, silent blue eyes, a glimmer of light emerged.

At the same time, Chu Shici heard a notification sound from the system in his mind, [Vitality +1, current vitality 20/100.]

The next morning, Chu Shici opened his eyes and saw Su Zheyan preparing to leave with a backpack on his back.

In a drowsy state, he reached out his hand and said, “Take… take me with you.”

Su Zheyan, leaning against the cabin door with one hand, looked back at him.

Just when Chu Shici thought he was going to leave without saying a word, Su Zheyan spoke, “Someone is targeting me. Stay behind and watch the capsule. There might be people coming today, and there’s a high probability they’ll set traps. Keep an eye on them and warn me when I come back.”

Upon hearing this, Chu Shici instantly became awake.

Before leaving, Su Zheyan instructed him again, “Hide well, don’t show yourself, don’t resist. If they steal from you, fend for yourself. Don’t count on me to save you.”

Chu Shici nodded and quickly hid under the bookshelf.

He poked his head out, wanting to say, “Stay safe!”

But he saw that the cabin was empty, and the door was tightly closed.

Chu Shici was about to talk to the system when the transparent cabin door opened again.

Su Zheyan leaned down and pushed him back, coldly warning, “I told you to hide well. Don’t stick your head out until I come back.”

Originally, Chu Shici planned to pass the time by listening to the radio during the day, but now he doesn’t even dare to unplug the antenna.

Unknown enemies could come at any moment, so he huddled under the bookshelf, tearing and folding pieces of paper from his notebook.

The waiting time was too boring, although the system space could play movies, but it required VIP access.

2047 said that upon completing a side mission, he would receive a membership for a world of movies and shows.

Currently, Chu Shici had no way to redeem it.

After folding several origami cranes, he got a little tired of playing. He opened his notebook to see if there were any new entries.

Logically, Su Zheyan shouldn’t have had time to write in the diary since he woke up an hour earlier than usual today.

But when he reached the sixth page, both Chu Shici and the system were shocked.

The previous few pages had only a few scattered lines, but this page was filled with writing, covering more than half the paper.

【Bought a skirt for the robot, it looks cute. I’ll buy a few more outfits. The robot gave me a paper heart, the first gift I received as an adult. I’ll keep it safe. His antenna is working again, so we can listen to music from now on.】

【What does the painting on the wall mean? Did I paint it, or did someone come into the capsule during the day? I remember the process of building the bookshelf and desk. I have memories associated with everything in the capsule, so why can’t I remember the lines on the wall? Even if it suddenly appeared, I should have an impression. What’s going on?】

Chu Shici touched the notebook and smiled triumphantly at the system. “See, I told you he lost a portion of his memory.”

Before he finished speaking, the voices of several people suddenly came from outside.

Chu Shici immediately dragged the notebook and hid back under the bookshelf.

The voices grew louder, and those people were getting closer to the capsule.

Through the transparent upper lid, he could see the figures of several men.

They were tall and robust, appearing much stronger than Su Zheyan, who was a beta.

One of them held a device and said to his companion, “Is the information accurate? Does that beta live here?”

The companion nodded, and the man cursed, “Damn it, if it weren’t for omegas being extinct, who would be interested in betas? Lao San, is he good-looking? If he’s likable, we’ll play with him first before selling him. If he’s not good-looking, straight to the market.”

“He was far away, so I couldn’t see clearly. All I know is that he was tall and thin, with golden hair and very fair skin.”

“Weren’t you inquiring at the toy store? What did Old Zhang say?”

“That old bastard is a cunning merchant. I asked him what that beta look like, and he said that person had a dead face. I asked if he was good-looking, and he said extremely good-looking, but looking at his face would immediately sober you up. What nonsense is he talking about? If someone has a good-looking face, how can they not be impressive? His words don’t make sense. That old liar! Damn it, he cheated my money!”

Chu Shici, eavesdropping from under the bookshelf: …

Old Zhang is truly an honest merchant, not taking people’s money in vain. He vividly and accurately described Su Zheyan’s features, capturing every detail perfectly.
