Wu Xin was stunned speechless from the yell. She quickly came back to her senses, and slowly took a deep breath, then fixed her hair elegantly. However, if one looked closely, Wu Xin was actually seething and on her limit, even though she still spoke lightly and even laughed in exasperation: “Lin Feng, that’s how you talk to me, huh? And you yell at me?”

She said scornfully, “You yelled at me twice in the past two days!”

Lin Feng froze and looked at his son with an increasingly stunned expression. Once again, he felt that extreme indifference coming from Lin Yu He. He had given it a lot of thought last night and thought that maybe the family had hurt his son. This made Lin Yu He resentful of his relatives, and that’s why he was so indifferent to his affection. He also thought that if he could get closer to Lin Yu He and solve the misunderstanding, there might be a chance to redeem himself. However, he now realized that it was not only affection, Lin Yu He’s attitude towards love is the same; indifferent and without any expectation.

Lin Yu He is only twenty years old. At this age, most people were defenseless against love and the feeling would always be engraved deeply in the heart. Even though the partner was ten years older, any ordinary twenty-year-old would still wind up feeling something deeper despite knowing it was only an act. However, Lin Yu He was so clear-headed and marked every event with logical reasoning.

”This isn’t how a child of this age should act. This isn’t how it should be…” Lin Feng thought in a daze.

Lin Yu He didn’t notice their expression and rubbed his dry lips with the back of his hand to wipe off the blood that seeped through the crack. His mouth had been dry since he woke up, and now when he spoke, the pain became distinct. Nonetheless, Lin Yu He was used to this pain and the blood that smeared across his pale lips made it seem bright and healthy. He appeared fine from the outside.

“Including the phone calls every few days, too, I guess,” Lin Yu He said calmly, “I remember the day before the engagement, Auntie Wu installed audio surveillance software on my phone in the name of sending the engagement files. As soon as the software was installed, Mr. Lu called me. He would call me from time to time after that. Presumably, the audio files from our calls will be the material to be used later for publicity.”

She could not understand why Lu Nan still called Lin Yu He even after he had already confirmed that there was no wiretapping?

Before Wu Xin could recover from the shock, she heard Lin Yu He’s voice again.

“I guess you’re all worried that I’ll be too awkward in the act after knowing all these so you all kept it from me. But it’s already some time since the act began so just tell me the tasks in advance next time, I’ll be cooperative,” Lin Yu He said.

“As for what you said, that I rely on Mr. Lu’s affection…” he trailed off and smiled lightly, “I’m aware it’s not affection, it’s only a business deal.”

After saying all these, Lin Yu He’s expression hadn’t faltered. He looked at his watch and said politely, “It’s getting late, I’ll go out first. Dad, Auntie Wu, goodbye.”
