Uchiha's Butterfly

Chapter 81 - Trap (Part 1)

Kaname was calmly laying down in a flying-high bubble, her feet, propped high above her head - resting on one of the colorless sides of Utakata's floating device. She was silently musing about a scroll in her hand, ceaselessly scratching the formula and starting everything anew.

"Less admiring, more fighting, Snail Boy!" Kaname heard the voice of one of her clones that were still pummeling on the jinchūriki.

Making sure her newest seal was ready, she moved her h.i.p.s to the side. As her t.h.i.g.hs cleared the view in front of her, Kaname watched, "the torture" - as Utakata called it, her clones were bestowing on the brown-headed man.

*Boom*

'Hmm, he honed his survival skills at the least. That fireball would land him in a hospital a month back.' Kaname congratulated herself, 'Hehehe, an under the belt plan, Kana-4. Meh, we're ninjas.' She watched as three of her clones bustled around Utakata, giving her fourth clone a chance to jump behind him unnoticed.

As Kana-4 bolted with a sword in hand towards the jinchūriki, he swiped with his hand that just for a moment turned into a pale-blue slimy appendage that obliterated the clone. Their little private battlefield hushed just for a second, Utakata was looking down at his hand, not understanding what happened.

"Saiken?" he asked.

With a soft tap of her nail, Kaname popped the bubble she was currently in, letting her fall back down towards the ground.

She walked towards Utakata, clapping her hands in appreciation, 'At last, my training bore fruits!'

"Kaname-chan? Wha- What's going on? Saiken said that you will explain it to me." he exclaimed when he noticed her walking towards him.

"Welp, congrats, Snail Boy. From what I know, you're the second jinchūriki able to morph parts of your body into Bijū appendages. Saying that I talked with Jiraya-san enough to know where this is going. A big nope from me, Snail Boy. Hahaha"

"Eh? What are you talking about, Kaname-chan?"

"I figured you wouldn't get the joke... Whatever. Luckily you and Saiken had a cordial relationship, but deep inside, you were still holding yourself back, Snail Boy. The training required for both of you to trust each other. Fighting together against a stronger enemy, and joining hands for hmm. What, two months now? A common opponent helps in building trust in the other party."

-----

"Saiken, is it true?" Utakata inquired deep inside his mind.

"Yes, partner. For a partial transformation, there is a need for complete trust between the host and the Bijū."

"Why didn't you say so before, we could work it out."

The massive slug turned its head sideways, "It isn't about a contract, or about mutual understanding. There was a part of you, that feared I will take control of your body someday and don't give it back."

"*Sigh* Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry, Saiken."

"I don't mind. Now go back and thank Kaname. This beautiful female specimen won't wait for you all day."

"Guh, don't start at it again."

"Hahaha, I can hear your thoughts partner. Do you think I did not see what you dreamed of last night in that slugged pate of yours?"

"Give me a break!" Utakata disappeared from his mindscape with the accompaniment of a hearty laugh from his Bijū.

----

Kaname noticed Utakata's eyes narrow to the amount of light in their surroundings, "Did you have a good talk with Saiken? Anything new?"

He shook his head rapidly to the sides, throwing the memory of his o.b.s.c.e.n.e dream out of it. "Ugh, yeah. Thank you Kaname-chan, thank you from both of us. We owe you once again."

Kaname shrugged her shoulders, "Don't worry, Snail Boy. You are not the first one nor the last to owe me. I have this weird affliction where I make all my friends owe me something." She noticed Utakata's face scrunch in defeat.

"Friends... Guh, Saiken, not now! And I know, just shut up!" jinchūriki snapped back, clearing his left ear with his finger, "I'm sorry, Kaname-chan, the stupid slug started to wave his tails around like flags, screaming 'Fight!' in my head." he apologized to Kaname.

"Pft," Kaname snorted with laughter, "Sure, whatever. I have a proposal for you, I got a new seal, and I need a willing test subject."

"Is it dangerous?"

"No. It's a gift for my mom, but I need to test if it works first," Kaname assured.

"Sure, what do you need me to do?"

"Sit down, and close your eyes, Snail Boy. I will touch your hand with some items, I want you to describe what they are."

As he closed his eyes, Kaname put a seal on his back and pulled out a collection of items, touching the top of his hand with a shuriken she waited for his answer.

"A shuriken," he replied surely.

"Good, can you tell me what you see?"

"Hmm, it's like a mirage put into my brain, it's a standard four-point tool ninjas use daily."

"Okay, next." she pulled out a kunai touching his palm with the blunt side of it.

"A standard kunai, a handle bound with a red-colored strip."

"Good~," she replied sweetly, 'Hmm, it's not perfect, but it works. Time to tease him a little bit, hehe.' Making a lot of shuffling noises, Kaname pulled out her reserve sports brassiere. Putting her other hand in front of his eyes, Kaname rotated Utakata's palm upwards and dropped her cloth into his waiting hand.

"It's... Wait, what-?!" he yelled out as his cheeks went into a pure beetroot color.

"Hey! I said no looking, Snail Boy!" Kaname replied amusedly, effectively blocking his sight.

"But...but, it is a..."

"Oh well, if you want to look so much..." To Utakata's evident astonishment written on his face, Kaname pulled her hand back. His face from a stupid smile quickly turned into disappointment when he saw her standing above him the same way as she was before.

"Hahaha! If you just could see your own face!"

"Yeah-yeah, laugh at me, both of you..." he pouted.

"Hahaha, okay, close your eyes again. No more tricks, just describe what you can see, and I will let you keep my piece for later 'research' purposes." Kaname promised, still trembling in her laughter.

"Ha,... ha,... ha." Utakata cried sarcastically, he threw Kaname's training cloth piece back to her and closed his eyes.

"I will touch your cheek with my own hand, describe what you see." she explained, "Unfortunately, for you, Snail Boy, I made sure I won't just pop up n.a.k.e.d in your mind."

"*Sigh* I will just pretend I did not hear that, yes I see you in your training gear." he felt her touching his cheek.

"And?" she questioned him with mirth in her voice.

"... *Mumble-mumble*" he muttered something dropping his head to hide his growing hotter cheeks, "Saiken, I'm not a chicken and kiss my ass!" Utakata bellowed.

"*Snort*. Do you see my mouth moving as I speak or my hair swaying in the wind? Can you see your own hands?" Kaname asked.

"Yes to the first two, Kaname-chan."

"Hmm, partial success. Now,-" Kaname pulled her hand away.

"A grass snake!" he answered instantly.

"Oh! It's really a snake, the test is over, Snail Boy. Seems it's a messenger, from Anko-chan probably?" Kaname pulled off the sealing scroll from Utakata's arm and turned towards the grass snake that was slithering next to his foot.

'Hmm, it's not her writing.' Kaname read the letter.

'Hello again, Kana-chan.

I just can't wait to meet again! It seems I found three strays walking around the Land of Water, I believe they are yours. Now, for the rules of the game: You have time till midday to come to the old abandoned prison island north-west of the Kirigakure, it's an old Akatsuki hideout. If you don't show up at noon, every ten minutes of your delay I will send you the batches of parts I cut from the bodies of your students, Hmm, what else? Ah! Come alone, please~.

Yours, not so friendly,

Snake.'

The chakra flared around in Kaname's anger, making her shoulder-length hair lash about in chakra-generated winds, "MOTHER F.U.C.KER!" she yelled out, crumpling the letter in her hand.

"Kaname-chan? What-"

"Not enough time, Orochimaru got my students, take this letter to Mei-chan, she will think of something. I need to go, I have an hour tops. <Kuchiyose no Jutsu>!" (Summoning Jutsu) she threw the crumpled out letter to Utakata and filled the lake with smoke after her summoning.

"What?! It's an obvious trap, at least let me help you, Kaname-chan."

"Of course, it's a trap. The Snake bastard wouldn't send the letter to me if he wasn't sure he can defeat me. But I'm sorry, I will not just let you just sacrifice yourself for nothing, Orochimaru would gladly sell your body to Akatsuki if you just gave him a chance. I can fight this bastard off myself, but I may need help from someone much more redundant in the grand scheme. That's why you need to show the letter to Mei-san - she will send someone, I don't know, like Ao." Kaname replied unconsciously offending a certain jōnin, she jumped on top of her summon's head, "Psyche-san, it's an emergency, I need to get north of here as fast as possible!"

"As you wish. Hold on, Kaname-chan!" with a mighty wave of red-butterfly wings, the duo shot out into the air.

-------------

'So, this is the island." Kaname observed a big star-shaped building outstretched over a small rocky island. High delipidated walls were ceaselessly being smacked by powerful cold waves of the ocean. The plain concrete roof of the building did not leave any hidden points of entry, 'To make matters worse, this shitty storm just had to attack right now... Ten minutes until the deadline. Hmm, <Kage Bunshin no Jutsu>.' Kaname spawned two clones, "You know what to do." she ordered, waiting for their report on a neighboring island.

Kana-1 summoned a brown-winged butterfly and tried to move in above the clouds, half-way there she heard a loud cry of an eagle, followed by a crackling of electricity, the clone got vaporized in an instant by lightning.

Kana-2 did not fare much better running over the stormy sea, crossing the mid-waypoint between the isles, she felt something trip her from underwater. It was impossible to see anything below the rough waters, at least until the clone was not sent flying by enormous fin. Looking beneath her, Kana-2 noticed a boss-summon-sized shark head with rows of teeth ready to snack upon her.

"Kana-2 became a toothpick. Hmm, I'm not sure if this is a living creature or a summon. But I can't linger about it." Kaname created another clone, passing her exploding seal to it and smacked its posterior, "Go on."

"Boss, as an acting leader of the clones, I would like to file a complaint about those seamless brutal quests you inflict upon us."

"Kana-1, I experience the same thing you do, there is not enough time to joke around. Just go."

Kaname watched as her clone got launched into the air with a building-sized shark in tow. Kana-1 got swallowed, and the fish went under the surface. The disappearance of her clone and the experience of having your body punctured multiple times by sharp teeth was followed by a loud explosion. She watched a column of water, blood, and bones rise high above the ground. 'And that's how you hunt down a big fish. Tsk, five minutes left. I need to go.'

Two minutes later, Kaname stood in front of the iron prison gates, "I'm here, snake bastard! Open up!" she shouted out, but was met only with silence.

"*Cough*... Pretty please?" she asked sarcastically.

The metal doors opened with a loud cranking noise uncovering a dark corridor inside. "Tsk, looking for three kids in a building will take me ages. <Doton: Chikyūnami no Jutsu>!" (Earth Release: Earth Waves Technique) she used the detection technique she copied from Jiraya, 'Hmm, there are cells below, hmm, but only three of them are occupied. Weird, I thought that the Snake bastard would split them apart, only to slowly tire me out with constant attacks... Okay, three corridors, two of which are full of these quickly closing in eerie cricketing noises, and one leading down.'

"Whatever it is, I don't have the time to deal with it. *Cough*" Kaname bolted towards her students' cells.

The prison was a labyrinth of dark corridors and chambers, soon she understood what made those noises, the ninja puppets were continuously harassing and slowing her down.

"Out of my way!" she mowed two of the puppets standing in her way with Rasengans.

'*Cough-cough* Wait, what's with the cough?' Checking her body with her chakra, Kaname discerned a slow-acting poison destroying her body, 'Tsk, it's Orochimaru, why wouldn't I think of poison?' she clicked her tongue. 'But how? I wasn't wounded even once, is it atomized in the air? Shit! I will deal with it later.'

As she retreated from the constant onslaught towards the lowest level, Kaname ran into a circular dark chamber. It contained rows of closed cells, looking at the furthest side of the wall, she focused on a set of three doors.

"*Wheeze-wheeze* What have I got behind the gate number one?" she opened the first cell, Koji was unconscious, chained to the wall, but luckily breathing and still in one piece. 'Hmm, he is still alive, did Orochimaru give them the antidote? Unlikely, but maybe... Let's see.'

"Koji-chan? *Cough*." she jolted the teen's shoulder, but he remained unresponsive. Looking around the room, Kaname noticed a glowing seal on the cell's roof. 'Hmm, I never thought of that, a restraint seal? Something to study if I survive this, Yoink!' she hid the seal in her pocket, deactivating it.

"Ugh,..." Koji grudgingly opened his eyes. "No, you shouldn't-"

Kaname felt another seal activating on the boy's back, 'Ah f.u.c.k!' flickering towards him, she snatched the exploding seal and threw it at the, not so far away, cell doors. She pulled the boy into a tight hug protecting him with his body, "Sus-!"
