Uchiha's Butterfly

(A minute before the attack)

"Yo! Hokage-sama" a small brown toad greeted the old man, "I have a super-duper urgent message from the boss!" extending the scroll with its unnaturally long tongue the toad passed it to the old man.

'Yuck… Why do they always keep them in their stomach?' fl.i.c.k.i.n.g the spit out the scroll, Hokage rolled it out reading the message, 'Invasion imminent, Root, Snake, Bandits, and more. Coming back, eta. 12 hours. Be careful sensei.'

"ANBU!" he roared with vigor.

With a *swish* a man kneeled before him, "Your orders, Hokage-sama?"

"Go to the top floor, sound the alarm. Code Eclipse"

"Invasion?! As you wish, Hokage-sama" the man bolted through the doors, only to return twenty seconds later, "Alarm transmitter is broken Hokage-sama, it will take some time before we can-"

Sarutobi saw a few of the stacks of doc.u.ments light up in the chakra glow, 'Hidden seals? Shit!'

"ANBU Disperse NOW!" jumping over his chair, feet first through the closed window the old man was a second quicker than an explosion that obliterated his room, his square red hat was sent flying by the blast.

Looking around his village he noticed the red glow brightening the dark sky, the view that he didn't want to see again, not only after eight years. His Konoha was in flames.

"Is everyone alright?" Sachi asked loudly standing back on her feet.

"That was an explosion? It must have been close" Mikoto replied.

"That was right on target, aunty. The seals I created passively repelled the blast outside the building"

"Sis, is everything alright? ~ttebayo" Naruto was nervous.

"Naru-chan we're all okay." Izumi tried to cheer the boy up hugging him, but even she was afraid.

"Mom, I'm going to activate all the defensive barriers, but for them to work no one else can leave the premises. If they're compromised from inside, by anyone but me, they will fall instantly."

"No one else? Squirt, what do you think you are doing? You're not the only ninja we have in this household."

"Aniki, you did not take part in any missions for at least six years. No, mom, you and aunty stay here as well, you were on the sidelines for even longer, I'm sorry, but only ones with some recent combat experience here except me are Hami-chan and Izumi-chan."

"*W.h.i.n.e*" the border-collie prodded Kaname's hand.

"No Hami-chan, Izumi-chan isn't combat-ready, so I need you to protect everyone here. So thank you, but no, I'm going alone. And I will do what I do best. I'm going to put fear into our enemies Aniki." Putting her hand on the ground and voicing, "<Fortress>", she let the seals do their work, her house instantly got covered by multiple glowing bright square barriers.

"I must help Fugaku-kun! I need to leave Kana-chan!"

"I'm sorry aunty, now is not the best time to wander around Konoha. We don't know who we're against, nor their numbers. I prepared Itachi-kun for this, he will protect his family. Believe in him. I will go there as soon as possible."

"But… *Sigh* You are right. Just try to come back home in one piece"

"Butterfly, do you need to go? I mean we should be safe here"

"We're, but there are many others that are not, mom. Ah, where was my armor again?"

"Just whatever happens promise me you will come back to us Butterfly"

"I promise, ah, it was in this seal. Be right back, I need to change" she replied entering the kitchen.

Kaname came back with a black plate armor covering her most important organs, her arms, shoulders, and legs were protected by red-black pieces of armor. With ornamental red sash and tying her hair into a ponytail, she looked ready to kill.

"Wow Sis! Kickass ~dattebayo!"

"Thanks. Naru-chan I have a request, I need to go exterminate some bad guys, can you protect our family while I'm gone?" she asked patting his head.

"I love you Sis, just remember that you promised to come back"

"I never go back on my promises. Now, see you in a moment. Love you all"

Hopping out to the highest tree, she looked around, 'Tsk, it's worse than I thought… Each clan district is burning; multiple fires across the civilian district in the center of the village; the academy and Hokage's office is a flaming rabble; a big hole was punched through in the north wall, letting an army of bandits spill across the Konoha like a locust. Wait! What about the hospital?!' Zooming with her Sharingan on the building she noticed a group of twenty men with Anbu masks sneaking on its roof.

'So much destruction, I just don't know where to start… Okay calm down Kana, you can do it.' she planned her next move.

"Too many places to cover by a single person. This will suck big time... <Kage Bunshin no Jutsu>" [<Shadow Clone Technique>] she created ten clones, "You know what to do," she said to her clones making them split up in all directions.

Jumping above the rooftops of Sarutobi clan district, Kaname noticed many groups of Anbus fighting against other groups of masked men, looking around, she saw one of the people she was looking for. In the middle of an assortment of five heavily mind flayed Root agents stood Kurenai.

"Do you need help Kure-chan?" Kaname asked landing next to the woman.

"Kana-chan? What is happening out there? Is Hokage-sama alright?"

"It's bad overall, but I do not know about Jiji, I'm Kana-7, the original went somewhere else. So how is the defense of the clan of your future boyfriend?"

Kurenai's cheeks reddened themselves, "I doubt it's the most relevant thing to talk about now" pulling a kunai, she made quick work of immobilized attackers.

"I see you're having fun, care if I join Kure-chan?" Kana-7 pointed behind her back at a mass of dark-skinned mutants rushing at them.

"The heck are those?!" Dark haired-woman shouted out, jumping away from shock.

"Orochimaru's test rabbits, cute aren't they?" Kaname replied, following it by driving a red Rasengan into the closest enemy's face.

'Shit, I forgot to ask someone to defend the hospital!' Kana-1 thought to herself.

Entering from the bottom floor, the one reserved for civilians, she noticed only carnage, almost every room had decapitated bodies laying around. Going to the floor above, one allotted for minor shinobi injuries, luckily was mostly empty, with some young chūnins corpses ditched here and there. Walking up the stairs, half the floor was reserved for neurology, the second half was births and overall gynecology. Listening in, she heard multiple groups of individuals walking alongside the corridor.

*Knock-knock*

"It's the hospital staff, we need to check if you're alright. Please, open the doors" A man knocked to one of the doors.

'Damnit, firstly I need to check on aunty.' Kana-1 started flickering and hiding behind the pillars, soon she reached the nursery. Silently opening the doors with her master key, she entered into the room.

Looking around Kana-1 didn't notice any signs of fighting or blood. The beds were empty.

'Were they taken captive?... Nah, aunty as weak as she is, would fight them if it was to protect Hanabi. So where?' Her eyes rested upon the shower room doors on the back of the room.

She silently opened the doors, only to jump away from very precise Jūken Strikes aimed at her head.

"What's up aunty?"

"Kana-chan?" Shiori asked incredulously. Behind her, there was a row of pregnant women trying to stay as far away from the doors as possible.

"Yo! I forgot to mention Aunty, there is a bunker under the hospital, it wasn't opened for the last eight years, but it should have all the protection you will need." Kana-1 replied smiling, feeling a weight dropping from her mind.

"That could be useful, well, I can't blame you, just because you forgot about that, who would have thought we would get attacked... What about the assailants? We received the notice from the staff to hide"

"I will go deal with them, they're still out there. Now, that I'm standing between you and them, I don't have anything to worry about"

"What about Hiashi-kun and Hina-chan?"

"I don't know, I'm sorry aunty"

"*Sigh* Just stay safe out there"

Covertly leaving the nursery, Kana-1 stealthy approached her targets. One of them forcefully opened one of the doors on the neurology side, looking inside, he turned his head sideways and approached the next room.

*Knock-knock*

"It's the hospital staff, we need to check if you're alright. Please, open the doors"

A moment later the silent corridor was filled with a loud *click* of opening locks.

'Why would someone-' her thoughts were interrupted by the said doors exploding in scraps of metal.

"<DYNAMIC *Hiccup* FOUR-WHEELER>!" Duy shot out from the room, wheels first. Kana-1 heard a nice *crunch* of the standing in front of the door unfortunate man's spine, with a mad spin the man flew out the, now forcefully opened, window.

Kana-1 noticed she had her mouth opened in a big 'O', all the other Root agents shared her impression. 'I'm not needed here anymore, am I?…No, wait. Most likely Duy-san just woke up and is still huffy from drugs. Let's make a swift work out of those bastards.' With a sword in hand, she flickered to the closest enemy impaling his heart.

"My youthfulhs shtudents! *Hiccup* Howl nise to ssee you both!" Duy replied looking between Kana-1 and a man she held by the throat.

'Not only drugged, but he is also drunk… Meh, whatever helps him fight with pain' she was observing as Duy was swerving and doing wheelies around many masked men, "Hi… Duy-san can you help me with those bad people, pretty pleasee~?" Kana-1 asked in a sweet voice.

"Hehehe, gret readhy bad peon!" spinning his wheelchair Duy landed on the other side of the corridor. Using his hands to gain impetus, with the contact of the surface the wheels of his chair released a loud screech. Kana-1 barely saw the bullet strapped to the wheelchair smash through a group of ten jōnin level ninja, with the bodies flying around like oversized bowling pins.

Only one Root ninja was left standing, he was lucky enough to hide behind a pillar. Walking towards him, Kaname wanted to swiftly end his misery. When from the corner of her eye she noticed the second Konoha Green Beast jump through the window, and with a shout "<Dynamic Entry>!" knock the ninja out.

"Damn, did Pops got his hands on the liquor again?" Guy asked looking at his father. At the moment Duy was madly laughing, breaking all the laws of physics Kana-1 knew. Somehow the man chained to a wheelchair was doing full vertical loops around the corridor, knocking everyone slowly rising up - back unconscious.

"Looks like it Guy-kun"

"*Sigh* It always ends up like this, why are you here Kana-chan? I thought you would be somewhere in the middle of the action?"

"I'm just a clone. Hmm Guy-kun, were you ever asked to be a child's godfather?" Kana-1 asked with a shit-eating grin.

"... I wasn't, you're the only female I know that understands my youthful way of life"

"There is a lot of pregnant women hidden on the other side of this corridor, I want you to escort them to the bas.e.m.e.nt and keep them safe. Leave a good impression and maybe you will be an uncle to one of the newborns"

"Me? An uncle?... Ha, Hahaha. It's so... MANLY!" he shouted out bolting towards the nursery.

'Okay, with two green spandex lovers here, I doubt anything less than End of the World could hurt Aunty. Mission accomplished"

Kana-4 was observing as the Hyuugas were running around their district easily pacifying any enemy that came into their ancestral home.

'Good, it seems Hizashi-san prepared his clansmen for the eventual invasion. Looks like the boss wasted her chakra sending me here' Hopping towards the main building, she walked towards Hiashi standing guard in front of Hinata's bedroom.

"Hello, Kaname-chan. I know what you want, I prepared a group of ten jōnin level Hyugas for an excursion to the hospital. If you would like you can join them, they're to find and protect my wife"

"Hi Hiashi-san, and no, it's not why I'm here. My original sent a clone to protect aunty from any threat. I wanted to ask if you need any help-"

"BEHIND YOU!" Hiashi shouted, jumping towards her with his fists poised to strike at the enemy.

Before she was able to turn a red-armored hand pierced her heart, making her disappear in an instant.

Kana-10 was scouting around the civilian and market districts, every street, every building or a shop was being overrun by an endless mass of bandits.

'Who would have thought, Itachi-kun was right. These lowlifes are doing more damage than any other ninja out there. But why would different groups work together? Hmm, sure one of the greater villages is a rare target to plunder, but such a rabble would fight against each other sooner rather than later'

She noticed Yakiniky Q restaurant's south entrance being besieged, slaughtering her way through the rabble she jumped above the would-be civilian defenders.

"Who is in command here?" she asked loudly.

"*Sigh* Hi Kana-chan. It started to get troublesome, thank the gods that you're here"

"Ah Take-kun, Hi. So why aren't you taking the civilians out? The bandits shouldn't be a problem for you"

"Kana-chan, the troublesome parts are their and our numbers, every time we kill ten of them another twenty take their place. While I and other ninjas can retreat, we can't move out while protecting the civilians, we have an entire cellar full of them. Ah right, your two students are here as well, they should be on our north line of defense." Her old teammate explained.

"Hmm, okay I have got a plan, let me talk with Torune and Koji"

"Sure, any plan is better than attempting to stop this flood"

"Sensei? Why did you join us? It's suboptimal for you to be here"

"She is a clone Torune-kun"

"Hmm, that would explain why she is here, thank you Nara-san"

"So sensei? Knowing you, you have a plan for us?

"Yes, Koji-chan, I have one. But neither of you would like it"

"What did you think of this time Kana-chan? I'm sure it's something troublesome, it always is with you"

"You will start to siphon the civilians out to the shelters, while I pull all their attention on me"

"That's a freaking army out there sensei!"

"Hmm, I understand, you're just a clone, your life shouldn't be of importance. But how will you manage to make them focus only on you Kana-chan?

"What? You want to say I'm not a looker?" Kana-10 mockingly asked back flouncing her h.i.p.s.

"Guh, I did not say it Kana-chan"

"Hahaha, I'm joking. I will prepare a nice big target for the bandits, they will ALL see me. Don't worry about that Take-kun. But I have a request for the three of you"

"*Sigh*... Troublesome"

"I may have to let myself go, I don't want you to see me losing myself to wrath, my original body will work through those emotions later"

"What are you talking about Kana-chan?"

"*Sigh* Take-kun, every ninja has got a dark side, it's normally hidden because of our willpower. But from time to time, especially under the stress of combat, we share glimpses of it with the world. It's the part of who we are, and I'm going to let loose on our enemies, It will buy you more time, but I doubt it will be pretty"

"Affirmative, sensei. We will retreat with the civilians"

"Thanks, Torune-kun, I don't have much chakra. The original created me with a fifth of her reserves expecting that I may need it, I expect you will have three to four minutes before I pop. I will clear a path for you, there are three shelters up the street. Koji-chan I want you to wall up the south entrance. A minute later the civilians were ready for evacuation.

"Kana-chan, ready when you are!"

'Here goes nothing' Jumping from the top floor towards Konoha's main street Kaname's body brightened up being covered in white aura '<Susanoo: Majestic Attire>!'

"IT'S HER! RU-!" one of the bandits yelled out a moment before he got crushed.

A white colossus easily dwarfing the buildings around it, with three swords floating behind it's back, flattened everyone under its belly, 'Now for some awe, <Fūton: Gōkaze Senpū Mekkyaku>' (<Wind Release: Great Whirlwind Annihilation>) Powered by the Susanoo, the horizontal tornado-lookalike swept through Konoha's main street, the loud *SWOOSH* of the storm made itself known in entire Village. The clone's attack cut out a deep gorge in the ground, every bandit standing in the middle of the street got disintegrated by trillions microscopic wind-chakra blades. The whirlwind killed more and more people until it smashed into Konoha's wall leaving behind a circular hole in it and disappearing on the horizon.

'Oups! I think I popped Kana-3, 6, and 9, they were somewhere out there defending the wall… Hmm, my chakra reserves? Welp, poof went eighteen percent'. As Kaname was deliberating, the battle in the village stopped just for a moment. The bandits on the other side of the street observed as their rivals disappeared from the existence, the corners of the street were adorned with only leg stumps left after the unfortunate targets.

"Koji-san"

"Yes, Toru-kun?"

"Is it weird for me to feel bad for our enemies?"

"No, I felt that too. Sensei just murdered thousands of bandits in a blink of an eye"

"Yeah, me three" Takeshi added his opinion, "But we need to go, the bandits won't stay shock-shelled for long"

"Everyone retreat! We need ninjas to deal with her!" One of the bandits shouted loudly.

"Hoo~ and where do you think you are going? Do you think I will let you leave peacefully after plundering Konoha? " Kaname growled at them, her eyes glowed red. Releasing the Susanoo, she walked towards the bandit survivors "You were unlucky enough to stand to my back and not get eradicated with my jutsu, now, you have to deal with me personally". The bloodl.u.s.t she was releasing made the front row of the bandits weak in their knees.

"RUN!!!" a mad dash started, the bandits were trampling each other down just to get as far away as possible from the kunoichi.

'A sword is enough for these assholes' with her trusted blade she started quickly slaughtering her way south. In barely three minutes the Konoha was soaking in bandit blood.

Kana-2 was hopping towards the Hokage's Office, once there, she noticed an all-out skirmish. On the grounds of the destroyed academy, the old man single-handedly was fighting against the mummy-c.o.c.kroach and multiple Root ninja.

'*Tsk* I won't get myself a pair of snake-skin boots today… The bastard did not show up. Now, how to make an entrance. I knew Jiji was stronger than the c.o.c.kroach, it looks like he is putting a lot of pressure on him. Knowing the c.o.c.kroach, he has a contingency plan in a contingency plan in his eventual emergency retreat attempt. I can't let him run away.' Kana-2 carefully and silently ninjaed her way in.

"Give up Hiruzen, there is still a chance for Konoha to survive" Danzo was protected by three Root agents, that were constantly pelting the Hokage with their attacks.

"And what? You will become the Hokage? After everything, you have done?! Are you mad?!" he shouted back while dodging multiple projectiles, slowly disabling one Root after the other.

"Everything I have done was for the good of Konoha, don't speak like you didn't approve of my dealings! You knew we were two sides of the same coin!" Danzo replied jumping away from the fight.

"LOOK BEHIND YOU! What 'for the good of Konoha' are you talking about?! It's burning because of you!" Hiruzen shouted back.

"<Katon: Karyūdan>"

"<Katon: Karyūdan>"

"<Katon: Karyūdan>" (Fire Release: Dragon Bullet) Hokage was once again attacked by another Root agents.

"<Suiton: Suijin> (Water Release: Water Wall) Don't disturb when the elders are talking" Sarutobi admonished his attackers, "<Suiton: Suiben> (Water Release: Water Whip) I will deal with you later." he said tying the trio up.

"The flames that engulfed Konoha are the same flames that will cleanse it from filth, face it Hiruzen. I have infinite numbers here, you can't win"

"Filth, you say? Each of my ninjas is worth ten or more of these 'numbers' you're so proud of, that's what they're to you, aren't they? Just numbers… You landed yourself in a very dark place Danzo, your ambitions consumed your soul. I hoped somewhere deep there was still my friend looking for help, but I was wrong."

"Give up Hiruzen. That's my last warning!"

"I should have done this before. As the Third Hokage of The Hidden Leaf Village, I rescind the order of hunting you down 'Dead or Alive', for the treason and the attempted coup, I officially order your immediate elimination."

"You decrepit fool, <Mokuton->" Danzo's shout was interrupted by the feeling of a cold blade at his windpipe.

"Hi, c.o.c.kroach~" Kana-2 flickered right behind the man and greeted him in a melodious voice. Her sword pressed to his neck.

With another flicker, she appeared next to Sarutobi, holding the head by its hair.

"?" Danzo's decapitated head looked back at her, completely bewildered seeing Kaname's face, "---" he tried to say something, but without his vocal cords, his death was accompanied only by silence.

"Bye, c.o.c.kroach~ <Katon: Chīsana Kaen>" (<Fire Release: Tiny Flame>) Releasing a steady supply of fire from her mouth she boiled the man's face off.

"That- *Sigh* That was so anti-climatic, did he just try to use Wood Release? How long were you watching us Kana-chan?"

"I'm just a clone Jiji. I knew you were willing to forgive Danzo. It's just the way you are, don't worry, that's one of the reasons we all love you. I waited for you to wake up, and see your teammate for who he really is"

"Look out!" Hiruzen's pelted a couple of shurikens knocking back two Root ninjas.

"Hmm? Weird, I thought, once Danzo got defeated, they would start to flee. Those sloppy movements, are they under some kind of a genjutsu? What's going on Jiji?"

"I don't know Kana-chan" Hiruzen replied swinging Enma around.

"This idiot couldn't even put a fight against a clone? *Sigh*All of you ninjas are just like a freaking UN… Completely useless" The omnipresent voice full of contempt sounded around them.

"Your acquaintance Jiji?" Kana-2 asked.

"No, yours Kana-chan?"

*SWOOOOSH*

Their attention was taken by a loud sound coming from the middle of Konoha, they saw Kaname's Susanoo executing a powerful wind attack, eradicating a lion's share of enemy bandits.

The clone felt something pointy touching her cheek, she heard a man's whisper right beside her ear.

"Imperio", the last thing she saw were cold purple eyes.

"Kana-chan?" Sarutobi's sight centered back at the clone, her eyes were glassy and unfocused.

"Kill him, I have other things to worry about" the omnipresent voice commanded.

"Ugh… I'm too old for this" Hokage jumped back, just a moment before his previous location exploded in flames.

"<Futon: Shinkūgyoku>!" (Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere) Kana-2 shot tens of wind bullets towards him.

"<Katon: Hiendan>" (Fire Release: Flying Flame Bullet) with his Fire Release being powered up by Kaname's wind, his projectiles exploded right next to the clone.

'Woah I forgot about Root.' Hokage barely dodged under a kick, 'Was it enough?' the smoke cloud of the explosion soon was blasted away, 'Oh... Come on~' Kaname's clone was perfectly all right, she was being protected by a massive flaming ribcage.

"<Kami-no-mon: Aita>" (Gates of a God: Open) several hundred portals opened beside Kana-2.

'Hmm, I haven't seen Kana-chan use hand-seals or intonation for a long time, she is still holding back against me… Nope, just nope. I'm out of here. Maybe if the over usage of Sharingan will render the clone blind. The physical damage of the sight shouldn't pass to her original body' Turning the earth around his feet into fluid with <Doton: Dochū Senkō> (Earth Release: Subterranean Voyage) he dived underground to wait the barrage out.

Even deep below the academy area, Hiruzen felt the tremors Kaname's attack induced. 'Ha, Hahahaha. At least I won't have to pay for the demolition team! She will level the place nicely. Hahaha...'

'Hmm, it stopped?' Hokage felt that the tremors above his head ceased 'I hope the clone used all its chakra'. The ground around Hokage started to tremble, 'Ugh, it appears it's time to bail!'

Jumping out of the ground, three sharp rock spikes grew out behind Sarutobi's body trying to skewer him.

"<Kuchiyose no Jutsu>!" (<Summoning Jutsu>)

"Hiruzen? What is going on? What have you done to piss Kaname-chan so much?" The boss monkey summon protected his friend from a fireball shot their way.

"She is being controlled, Enma. It's just a clone we need to dispel it"

"Easier said than done my friend"

"<Fūin: Kai>" (Seal: Release/Dissipate) With a flaming sword in hand, Kana-2 prepared for melee combat.

"Enma… Enma! I need the staff, stop gawking at her"

"Damn, this is going to hurt" the monkey king replied transforming himself into black staff.

Hiruzen took the staff just in time to repel Kana-2's slash to the side, he noticed her pivoting around her heel, he fell on his behind just to dodge her following kick. Still gaining spin, clone's sword hand aimed at Hiruzen's head.

'Woah!' old man barely put his staff in the way of the blade. The resulting clash between weapons numbed his hands, his last line of defense flew out of his reach.

"So that's how it ends, at least I had this last dance with you Kana-chan" he smiled at her standing above him, with her sword put at his neck.

"...dan..ce?" Kana-2 asked absentmindedly.

"HIRUZEEEN!" Enma shouted at him, running back to his old-time partner.

"Goodbye" he replied seeing Kana-2 pulling her katana back to strike.

*Thump*

"Wha-?" He noticed a blade sticking out of the clone's c.h.e.s.t.

"I will prevail!" Danzo proclaimed behind Kana-2's back.

With a small *poof* the clone dispelled.

"That… That was only a clone?! Where is she?!"

"Hahahahaha, I wouldn't imagine I would say it today. I'm happy you are alive Danzo!" Hokage laughed loudly at his teammate, "Enma, now the odds are in our favor! Hahaha"

"You fool, I'm stronger than you ever were!"

"Yeah, quit yapping traitor, I feel edgy after getting my arse handed to me on a silver plate. It's time for me to unwind a little at someone weaker" Sarutobi answered spinning his trusted staff in front of him, "Come, I will show you why I'm the Hokage"

'I promised to check on them, but what the heck happened here?' Kaname was walking on the streets of the Uchiha district. It was hard not to notice, it was the smell of death, the entire district was reeking with it. Checking out one of the houses, Kaname noticed the family of three killed in their sleep by a blade.

'It must have started even before the invasion. But who?… No time to think about this, Itachi-kun and Sasuke-chan are my priorities now'
