The war situation was urgent. Lin Bozhou killed people last night and toured the camp today to train the new army so that they could pack up their clothes tomorrow and depart for their next destination with the provisions and supply wagon.

The tent had a sense of anxiety before the battle.

Meng Huan watched them rest, thinking whether Lin Bozhou was tired but too embarrassed to ask, so he stood by anxiously, his lips opened and closed several times.

Chen An wrung a handkerchief to wipe his face. Looking at Meng Huan’s dark eyes blinking, he let out an “ah.”

Then, he picked up a letter and handed it to him, lovingly saying, “Nephew, pass it to the prince for uncle.”

The letter apparently contained nothing but a pretext to meet.

Meng Huan’s heart hung tight, fingers clutching the letter, and he inexplicably had the feeling of meeting his first love, heading over to the middle tent.

The guards did not stop him after he informed them of the “letter from Chen An.” Meng Huan went in and saw through the screen that half of his shirt had fallen off his shoulders, and his complexion was red after a day in the hot sun. Lin Bozhou turned his head half sideways without looking at him, his hair falling on his shoulders and neck. “What letter?”

The tone had no emotion.

Meng Huan approached, and his voice was soft. “Husband……”

Lin Bozhou’s eyes squinted, then he paused.

The conditions in the army were not good, so he had to shower with a bucket of cold water.

Approaching, Meng Huan realized that he had been sunburned today. The skin on his hand holding the horse’s reins had peeled off, and his complexion had darkened. He was initially a civil court official writing with brush and ink in the imperial court, but now he had become fierce-looking, gradually polishing a military leader’s sharpness.

Subconsciously glancing outside the tent, Meng Huan touched the back of his hand, his tone dejected. “Does it hurt?”

Lin Bozhou grabbed his waist and wrapped his arms around him, pulling him behind the screen and placing his hands on his buttocks. “It doesn’t hurt.” After saying this, he kissed the crook of his neck.

Some hot breath diffused over the tip of the nose. The two people only had such a moment all day to talk for a while. Meng Huan wrung up a cloth to wipe his body and looked down. Sure enough, after riding a horse all day, the skin of his inner thighs was worn off.

“I heard you rode a horse all day. It must be exhausting.” Meng Huan felt apprehensive about him.

Re-twisting the cloth to wipe his shoulders, neck, chest, and the firm abs of his waist, only the sound of water trickling could be heard. When he wiped Lin Bozhou’s body, Lin Bozhou seemed to be in a hurry, counting the seconds, and moved quickly to resolve something that began to stir as soon as he saw Meng Huan.

Meng Huan also didn’t mind, long accustomed to it, and concentrated on wiping his sweat.

But when he looked down, the cloth fell into the water with a soft thud.

The warm liquid splashed onto his lips, along with the sound of the water.

“Husband……” Meng Huan really did not expect him to do it to his face, and the surprise on his face couldn’t be concealed. Looking up, those slightly red lips were opened, white teeth clenched, and his face was hesitant and bewildered. “To my face–”

The army was full of men with exuberant testosterone, which could easily stimulate the brutality, forcefulness, heavy desire, and crudeness in men’s blood. The flippancy turned into more of a primitive beast that focused only on physical qualities.

Lin Bozhou killed someone last night and was agitated tonight. There was no time to read, so his sense of propriety, justice, integrity, and honor seemed to fade.

Meng Huan frowned in confusion. Lin Bozhou’s fingertips pinched his lips, and his eyes, as deep as if the water, were slightly raised. “Lick it.”

The voice was low.

“……”

Help.

To lick what? ……

Very vulgar.

Meng Huan squeezed the cloth, and his ears were red from shame. Glaring at him with moist eyes, he reluctantly probed the tip of his tongue and licked his lips. His lips were instantly flooded with bright glistening water, and his scent immediately swept into his mouth, filling it up.

The atmosphere was quiet.

Truly becoming like a beast.

Lin Bozhou’s face eased, and his expression was suddenly pleased.

“……”

Meng Huan’s ears flushed, and the good mood of coming to sympathize with him disappeared. He threw the cloth at him. “Just want to come and say a word to you. I live well over there, so don’t worry about me, and take care of yourself. Goodbye.”

His tone was direct, and he ran outside the tent after speaking.

He didn’t notice that Lin Bozhou picked up the cloth behind him, saw him pushing aside the curtain, then dropping it down, narrowed his eyes, and the corners of his lips inexplicably smiled.

The night was gloomy, concealing Meng Huan’s moody and complicated expressions.

The environment had such a significant impact on people…… He couldn’t help but think, feeling that if Lin Bozhou stayed here longer, he might take on the habits of a soldier and completely change his personality to be wild.

Before Meng Huan returned to his tent, he rubbed his lips to make sure there was nothing.

Everybody was packing up their things. Zhu Dong said, “Back? Put your clothes away. We’ll be marching early tomorrow morning.”

“So soon?”

Meng Huan returned to his bed to fold his clothes into the bag. Nobody talked in the tent; only the rustling of clothes could be heard.

From the lifted curtain, it could also be seen that the opposite Marquis of Zhen Guan’s tent was busy getting in and out to pack things.

Even the camp was quiet, and the atmosphere was inexplicably restless.

–This was to prepare for the march.
