Chapter 7 – What I Like Best Are Swords

The most important thing to keep away from swords is emotion.

Jiang Su felt that Mu Yichuan’s words were very reasonable.

He had always known that he was not good at interpersonal communication. On the other hand, Mu Yichuan seemed to be quite good at it. Sure enough, he should make friends with Mu Yichuan; if they complemented each other, he might not be so dull and boring.

When he thought of this, he could not help gripping Mu Yichuan’s hand and seriously asking, “Mu-xiong, where did you manage to learn these principles of life?”

The respect he had for him had changed along with the name he used for him, which obviously frightened Mu Yichuan. For a moment, it seemed that he could not even speak. After a long time, Mu Yichuan hesitated and said, “It was…was Deputy He….a friend taught me.”

Jiang Su could not stop nodding, and said earnestly, “If you have the opportunity, definitely introduce me to your friend. I want to learn from him how to behave.”

Mu Yichuan: “…”

Mu Yichuan frowned and felt a little uneasy. He hated that he couldn’t pretend to have not heard these words, and after pausing for a bit, he let out an “en.”

Somehow, he couldn’t help feeling a bit depressed.

He thought, Deputy He already had so many friends that it did not seem necessary to add just Jiang Su, and Jiang Su also had so many good friends… If there was another one, he would have to share his attention and concern.

He was very reluctant to do this.

However, Jiang Su was always slow and did not notice Mu Yichuan’s careful thinking. He was completely fixated on Qi Du’s matter; Shixiong woke him up with a word. Now he just wanted to go over to Qi Du quickly to prove that he was not actually a man with a heart of iron and rock.

Although he only loved swords in his heart, he still had feelings of fellowship ah!

….

Jiang Su did not know where Qi Du had gone. He asked several disciples and heard that Qi Du had run back to the training ground while crying all the way for some reason. He should still be at the training ground now. Jiang Su couldn’t help feeling shocked. He felt that although the child was spoiled and couldn’t really endure hardship, he should still have a future.

He still went to practice martial arts when he was injured. If he were injured a few more times, the kid’s martial arts would definitely greatly improve!

Jiang Su hurried to the martial arts training ground with Mu Yichuan. Qi Du was really there. He had already stopped crying, and he was resentfully chopping his sword at the wooden dummy by the door. It was just that his sword technique was chaotic, and obviously he was a mess inside. He was just venting his anger when wielding his sword.

Jiang Su saw that. He liked talking about swordsmanship best, and at this time, he couldn’t help adding, “If you flail around carelessly, your swordsmanship will never improve.”

Qi Du didn’t expect that Jiang Su would come here. He was shocked and hurriedly turned back. His eyes were still red, and seeing that the person behind him was Jiang Su, he couldn’t say whether he was happy or sad. He simply stuck his sword at his side and said in a low dissatisfied voice, “It’s not like I’m training with the sword.”

Jiang Su raised his eyebrows. “If you want to vent, you should even more not do so.”

Qi Du pouted.

Jiang Su had already stepped forward and grasped the sword in his hand, which naturally led to Qi Du’s heart beating like a drum. His previous sadness evaporated, his face and ears went red, and his fingers were even trembling with nervousness. He even wanted to release the sword and hold Jiang Su’s hand.

Qi Du took a long time to calm himself down. He looked up and saw that Jiang Su was behind him. Shishu was slightly taller than him, and he looked down at him from top to bottom. His eyelashes were long, and his eyes were cold, but his gaze did not stop on him.

What Xiao Shishu was looking at was the sword in his hand.

“Since someone injured you, you should focus on training with your sword and fight back.” Jiang Su stood behind him and said to him seriously, “But you are not even gripping the sword the right way. You’ve been part of the sect for so many years, but how has your swordsmanship progressed at all?”

At the end of the speech, Jiang Su pressed Qi Du’s hand and corrected his grip one finger at a time.

Qi Du: “…”

Mu Yichuan at the side coughed hard to remind Jiang Su to be gentler. The child could not stand the blow, and if Jiang Su was too fierce, what would he do if the child cried again?

Fortunately, this time Jiang Su quickly understood Mu Yichuan’s meaning. He took a deep breath, moved more gently, and tried to squeeze a smile on his face, saying, “You’re still young. If you train regularly, your future will for sure be boundless.”

However, Qi Du just stared at him. After a long time, Qi Du just sniffed and asked in a sulky voice, “Shishu, do you like people with good martial arts best?”

Jiang Su did not know why Qi Du had asked this question, but since Qi Du had already asked, he naturally wanted to answer truthfully.

“Silly child.” Jiang Su looked down at him, peered seriously into his eyes, and said, “Of course not.”

Qi Du’s eyes were beaming, but Jiang Su immediately added another sentence.

“How can I like people best?” Jiang Su said solemnly, “Of course what I like best are swords.”

Qi Du: “…”

However, Mu Yichuan seemed to hear something surprising. He blinked, couldn’t help but agree, and said, “I like swords, too.”

Jiang Su turned to look at him and reflexively said, “People’s hearts are sinister, what’s there to like about people?”

Mu Yichuan couldn’t help agreeing. “The intrigue and infighting between people is far less pure than the sword.”

Jiang Su then said, “The most important thing to keep away from swords is emotion.”

Mu Yichuan nodded seriously. “To be a top swordsman, you must not have any feelings in your heart.”

Jiang Su’s expression finally showed some surprise, and he looked back at Mu Yichuan. He looked like he had seen some exotic person.

He had already been in the world of this book for ten years now, and in these ten years, he had never met anyone whose thoughts were so aligned with his before. He even thought that he would spend all the following days alone, but he had never thought that he could actually meet such a bosom friend in such a place like Falling Snow Cliff.

Jiang Su even felt that Mu Yichuan was his soul mate!

He looked at Mu Yichuan earnestly and warmly. Mu Yichuan didn’t know why he looked back at him, but he just thought that it was only to polite to not avoid Jiang Su’s gaze at the moment.

Qi Du, however, was hit hard.

He could see it.

Xiao Shishu said he didn’t like people with high martial arts skills, and that he only had swords in his heart, but what was going on with this Mu Yichuan? Xiao Shishu obviously had a different opinion of him. What only likes swords, that was obviously a lie made up by Xiao Shishu to just deal with him.

The situation was already like this, and if he didn’t want to give up this love, Qi Du felt that he may have only one way left.

He was still young, and Shifu had also praised his talent, at least that he was above many people. If he worked hard and made progress in swordsmanship, he believed that Shishu would eventually have a day where he would have to look at him differently.

Thinking about this, Qi Du could not help clenching his fist.

What was Mu Yichuan?

That was just a flirtatious bitch who had charmed Shishu! He was the one who was the destined right man for Shishu!

Yes! It must be!

Qi Du excitedly let go of his sword and gripped Jiang Su’s hand tightly. He said to Jiang Su seriously, “Shishu, I will work hard on my martial arts. You must wait for me!”

Jiang Su: “…”

Qi Du looked at Jiang Su, his heart trembled, and he remembered something else.

No, no, besides practicing martial arts, he should also try to prevent Mu Yichuan from getting along with Shishu. He couldn’t train hard with the sword while behind him, the yard set on fire and he let this stinky brat steal his initiative.

He had to follow Xiao Shishu closely and resolutely refuse to give them the chance to be alone.

“Shifu said you guys were going to the Wulin Assembly.” Qi Du said hurriedly, “Shishu, I want to go too!”

Jiang Su: “…”

“There are so many masters at the Wulin Assembly, and I also want to widen my horizons.” Qi Du said seriously, “If I see more of the swordsmanship and cultivation skills of various sects, I can make more progress.”

Jiang Su: “…”

Jiang Su remained silent.

Qi Du frowned. He didn’t understand what was wrong with his words just now. Why wasn’t Xiao Shishu responding to him? He did not understand and did not know how to ask, so he had to look back at Jiang Su pitifully, hoping to get an answer from Jiang Su.

Jiang Su finally raised his eyebrows slightly, pulled his fingers out of Qi Du’s hands one by one, then slowly bent down, and solemnly picked up Qi Du’s sword from the ground.

“You are a swordsman, so how can you just throw your sword away?” Jiang Su said. “This is your sword! Can you just throw your wife away?”

Qi Du was stunned. “I…”

“And you want to go to the Wulin Assembly, you brat!” Jiang Su got angrier the more he thought about it, tied the strap on the sword to Qi Du, and tried his best to tie a dead knot on it. He cursed fiercely, “Go back! Copy the sword manual ten times first, and you can’t go out until it’s finished!”

Qi Du: “…… QAQ”

On the 16th of the first month, Jiang Su left for the Wulin Assembly.

This trip to the Wulin Assembly was mainly for the Alliance Leader to discuss important matters. The sword trials, on the other hand, were of secondary importance, so Zhang Wenxue didn’t send too many people. Anyway, their sect only needed Jiang Su.

Over the years, experts teemed in the sword trials, but Jiang Su would always win the championship. Still Water Sword Sect was now already numb to the sensation of taking first place; there was no suspense and no need to wait in anticipation.

While Jiang Su briefly waited in front of the mountain gate, he turned around and was puzzled to spy Qi Du running over in a hurry from afar.

Didn’t he make Qi Du copy the sword manual? Qi Du finished copying the sword manual of their school that was this—————— thick so quickly?

Qi Du had already run to him, with two huge black circles under his eyes, and his sword tied firmly to his waist. That deadknot looked like what Jiang Su had tied with his own hands yesterday, meaning Qi Du didn’t take the sword off at all last night. He held a thick stack of papers in his hands that he handed to Jiang Su most respectfully. “Shishu,” he said seriously, “I have finished copying it.”

Jiang Su: “…”

Jiang Su took it over doubtfully and casually flipped through a few pages. Although the handwriting was a bit messy, somehow not a single word had been missed. He then looked at Qi Du and saw that he looked tired and his hands were still trembling. It was obvious that he had not slept well all night, copying the sword manual overnight.

His heart was moved.

The child worked this hard, and he was actually afraid of not becoming an expert swordsman!

Qi Du wanted to broaden his horizons with the sword trials at the Wulin Assembly. With such a small wish, of course he must satisfy him.

Jiang Su accepted the sword manual, patted Qi Du’s shoulder seriously, turned his head to call over Zhang Wenxue beside him, and said, “Shixiong, take Qi Du to the Wulin Assembly.”

Qi Du’s tired face showed joy.

“He wants to go to the Wulin Assembly to open his eyes and see the swordsmanship of various sects.” Jiang Su said, “Besides, Shixiong, with the sword trials, it’s not good to always have me go.”

Qi Du: “…”

Wait.

That doesn’t seem quite right.

“Why don’t we do this?” Jiang Su said happily, “This year, let’s let Qi Du fight on my behalf ba!”

Juurensha: Qi Du’s plans will always backfire!

Opal: They’re in two completely different genres…
