While the military district has a power supply, it's not enough to provide electricity for the whole base at all times. After all, when it was being projected, nobody could predict the Apocalypse during its construction. If ordinary people would want to use some electricity, then they would need to pay for it, if not find a way to create some for themselves.

Living on a top floor did have its perks. At the very least, if Chu Lixue needed some electric power, she could find some solar energy panels, install them on her windows and enjoy using her own free energy. Even through her body belonged to a zombie, the soul inside was still human, and had human needs.

The day was slowly ending, and since Chu Lixue felt pretty tired after having a long, stressful day, she simply decided to go to sleep. All other things could wait till the next day.

Next day, early in the morning Chu Lixue has been stirred up awake, unwillingly, if she could add, by the sounds of people moving stuff in the corridor. While her place is pretty big, but the walls are a little thin, so soundproofing is simply bad.

Since Chu Lixue didn't have enough sleep, it took her quite some time to get up and check what was happening. When she looked through her door's viewfinder, all she could see was the sight of doors being closed on the opposite end of the corridor.

'Nothing to see, I guess? Might as well go back to sleep', she thought, and a moment later she did move back to her new bed and dozed off.

A few hours later, when the sun was already high up in the sky, Chu Lixue has woken up again. After quickly washing up, she began to think about her future plans.

Obviously, this world was different from the one she used to live in. She didn't have any friends or family to spend time with here, and neither did the original Eldest Miss Chu. While she would love to just spend her days being lazy, and eating good food, the conditions for that aren't really perfect.

And yes, eat food delicacies. While she doesn't need to eat food, yesterday, during the travel time back to base with the military convoy, she was given a few crackers to eat. While their taste wasn't anything great, thanks to eating it, she did confirm that her body was able to taste and consume human food.

Gathering her thoughts, Chu Lixue thought about the original soul that occupied this body. While she didn't have much feelings for her, at the very least she believed that since she took over her body, she should help her fulfill her wishes. And even if nobody told her what it was, she could pretty much guess what the original Chu Lixue would want to do, simply from looking at her memories.

There was also her identity as a zombie. While nobody found out the truth yet, who is to say that she could keep her secret forever. If by any chance somebody found out and turned her over, even if she wasn't killed, her most probable ending would be as a subject for some crazy scientists.

The only way to be safe for Chu Lixue, was to gain more power. As long as she was strong enough, she could not only take revenge on the Chu family, but at the same time nobody would dare to touch her even if her identity would be compromised.

The problem was however, that even Chu Lixue herself knew, that she wasn't born with fighting abilities. While in her previous life she did learn martial arts to protect herself, but that was a long time ago. And even if she did remember it correctly, she simply wasn't made for a world like this. Just getting close to zombies would scare her.

From what she could understand yesterday, both humans and zombies could evolve and become ability holders. Aside from regular training and using abilities to the max and letting them slowly regenerate and become more powerful, the only way to upgrade them was to use the energy contained in energy nucleuses, obtained from dead people or zombies.

It's true that zombies still treated her as one of themselves, so they wouldn't attack her, but who is to say that they would still ignore her if she tried to kill them? Normal zombies wouldn't have a nucleus, while zombies with abilities would be also getting smarter. When a zombie gained more strength, he would also understand more, and perhaps in the future, when they became strong enough, they could possibly create their own society.

Chu Lixue didn't understand why the body, that she somehow managed to possess was so similar to the usual body of a human. She couldn't help but think that perhaps in the future, some zombies could also become like her, and after retaining their memories turn back to the human society.

But even if that was to come true, at this moment she couldn't waste time thinking about it. Her biggest concern right now was to become more powerful, and if she couldn't become powerful enough herself, then she would need to attract strong ability users as her subordinates.

Thinking to that point, Chu Lixue couldn't help but mutter to herself, "At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if it was my previous world or this world, as long as humans are alive, the most powerful person will be the one with the most resources to their name..."
