Chapter 20: Master Fu, the Bamboo Shoot Snatcher

Gu Zhao showed a helpless expression. He did want to show concern, but the other person had to be willing.

"I still have a few engagements here, but I'll be back in about four or five days," Gu Che said.

Gu Zhao made a sound of agreement and hung up the phone. He turned around and walked towards his sports car.

...

Wanjin Manor was far from the bustling city center, with numerous villas standing tall.

In simple terms, it was a gathering place for the wealthy, and only those with distinguished backgrounds could live there.

Similarly, the security measures at the manor were notoriously strict. Even the residents themselves had to have their identities verified when entering or leaving.

However, there was one exception.

A black luxury car drove into the manor, and upon seeing the license plate, the gate guard let it through without any verification.

There was no time to waste, for fear of neglecting the person inside the car.

"Shan Ge, we haven't verified the identity yet. Why did you easily let the car in?" a newly arrived security guard asked, puzzled, as he looked at the blurry figure of the car.

The man addressed as "Shan Ge" glanced at him and said seriously, "You've only been working here for a few days, so naturally, you wouldn't know. The license plate of that car is a special exception in this manor."

"In the future, when you see that license plate, there's no need to verify the identity; just let it through."

Upon hearing this, the young man first froze, then couldn't help but ask curiously, "With such grand arrangements, who is the person in the car?"

"Having too much curiosity is not a good thing," Shan Ge warned. "Don't go prying around while working here. Just focus on doing your job properly."

The young man was also discerning and stopped asking further questions. "Understood."

**

The black luxury car stopped in the courtyard of the Tao family.

Fu Juncheng carried two gift boxes and walked calmly up the steps.

Just as he approached the entrance of the living room, he heard the sound of people playing mahjong inside.

"Wait, I'm declaring a Kong."

"I didn't see it clearly just now. I won't play this one."

"Dad, you've cheated multiple times. I won't play with you anymore if you keep doing that."

Fu Juncheng walked into the living room, and the laughter suddenly ceased.

The four people at the mahjong table all looked at him at the same time. The elderly lady wore a kindly smile and got up to greet him. "Ah cheng."

Fu Juncheng's tone softened a bit. "Grandmother."

"It's been so long since you last came. I thought you had forgotten about your grandparents," the elderly lady said with a wide smile.

"Have you eaten? What would you like to eat? Grandmother will make it for you."

Fu Juncheng placed the gift boxes on the table and said, "No need, I've already eaten."

"Uncle."

A childish voice came, unable to contain its excitement.

A small figure ran towards him, not stopping its footsteps, and bumped into his leg.

The little one fell to the ground but didn't cry. He quickly climbed up from the floor.

With bright eyes, he reached out his hand towards Fu Juncheng. "Uncle, carry me."

The adorable act made the elderly lady and the others burst into laughter.

Fu Juncheng lowered his head and looked at the chubby little figure by his feet. His thin lips curved slightly. "You've gotten chubby again."

Upon hearing the word "chubby," the little one's eyes immediately turned red. Tears welled up in his golden eyes. "Uncle, you're mean! I'm not chubby, I'm strong."

Fu Juncheng chuckled and reached out to pinch his little chubby cheeks, then continued to tease him, "You're just chubby without substance."

The bamboo shoot snatcher. Even a three-year-old couldn't escape his sharp tongue.

"Waaah..."

A loud cry suddenly erupted, and the little one felt extremely wronged.

The golden tears flowed like money. The elderly lady patted Fu Juncheng's arm gently, laughing helplessly.

"You're so good at amusing children."

Immediately after, she reached out and picked up the little one, gently coaxing him, "Hengheng, don't cry, okay? Uncle was just teasing you. Hengheng is not chubby at all. You're so handsome."
