Ch 54 - Newest Top Celebrity x Washed Up Film Emperor: Here’s Fine

In the entertainment circle, the more famous a person was, the easier it was for their actions to be watched.

The news of Lin Sui and Yan Qin breaking it off and no longer working together flew across the entire circle as if it had wings, but it didn’t spread widely outside of the circle, however, attentive people would still be able to find the clues.

Lin Sui didn’t take on any new scripts, running off to do business and single-mindedly devoting himself to cultivating the actors in his studio, as well as busying himself with affairs in his company.

He didn’t just acquire the Lehe film company in the span of over two years, he acquired other entertainment companies little by little, secretly expanding his power.

Lin Sui didn’t stop watching Yan Qin, waiting to see what moves Yan Qin would make.

Recently, Yan Qin had been having a rather bad time, his whole body was filled with low-pressure.

Not only from being treated as a plaything that always comes when called, but also because of his acting.

He had never encountered such a serious bottleneck since he entered the industry, he was even a little worried when he read those scripts.

Inside the private room in the restaurant, Liu Buqun loudly argued in confusion: “Why not take it? Although it wasn’t entirely tailor-made for you, I feel like there’s no one more suitable.”

After “The Stand-In”, Liu Buqun took the script he’d been polishing for two years and planned on shooting a new work. The first choice for his male lead was still Yan Qin, so he immediately got in contact with his friend of many years but, unexpectedly, Yan Qin rejected the script after reading it.

“Is it because of that person? I really don’t understand why you insist on doing things together with him, all you’ve acted in for the past two years is supporting roles, but you’re clearly meant to be a lead actor, why are you wasting your talents like this?”

It wasn’t that Liu Buqun really looked down on Lin Sui, he just thought it was a shame.

In his opinion, Yan Qin was an absolutely talented and amazing genius, so why bother lowering himself to second male? Plus, Yan Qin was clearly not a cowardly person, so Liu Buqun didn’t believe Yan Qin stayed by Lin Sui’s side to curry favour with him or because he was being threatened.

The answer was very clear, then, and Liu Buqun was a little speechless as he recalled that young man in his memory.

Yan Qin forced a smile: “It’s not because of him, Old Liu, I seem to have gotten caught up in a bottleneck.”

Yan Qin lied, his current situation was indeed related to Lin Sui.

Whenever he saw a script and prepared to get in character, that beautiful face would appear in his mind.

His face still had the remainders of spring after their kiss, and the sighs in those certain words pierced into his mind like a needle.

Yan Qin had never gotten too deep into his roles.

He couldn’t find a way to concentrate on becoming someone else or acting a role, and he couldn’t allow himself to perform under these circumstances.

“That’s… sigh.”

Liu Buqun was stunned, and let out a sigh.

This bottleneck thing was too hard to talk about, it wasn’t something that could be broken through with enough experience, and it was even because he had accumulated this much experience and he still had no way to overcome it that he had landed into this predicament instead.

Liu Buqun: “Then it can’t be helped, but I’m not in a hurry to film either, I’ll go look for regular cast members first, then we’ll talk again. You’re still my preferred choice, so get in touch with me at any time if you get better, I’ll also notify you in case I find someone.”

“Thanks.”

“You don’t need to thank me, if I hadn’t asked you for help back then… forget it, I won’t say it. It’s hard for us to meet up for a meal, cheer up and drink.”

Liu Buqun picked up a cup of wine and toasted with him, then he shook his head, drank all the wine in the cup, and smacked his lips, leisurely tossing his worries to the back of his mind.

Yan Qin thought, if he hadn’t agreed to Liu Buqun’s request back then, or if Liu Buqun hadn’t bothered to go ask him for help, what would he and Lin Sui be like now?

Maybe they wouldn’t have met, but once they did meet, the circumstances should be pretty much the same.

If he hadn’t had that accident back then, maybe he and Lin Sui would be two disjointed lines right now.

Yan Qin’s heart suddenly soured when he thought about there being a day where he and Lin Sui were strangers who brushed past each other without meeting.

As a result, while drinking, Yan Qin turned on his phone under the table and went into the super topic to sign in and check in.

Since he had broken-heartedly removed all related things a few days ago, he had to do everything over again, and his level 12 activity rank no longer existed.

Alcohol easily got to Liu Buqun’s head, Yan Qin drunk a bellyful of alcohol and got up to go to the toilet.

At the washroom sink, he found a person who kept staring fixedly at him. That young man wore a facemask and a cap, only exposing his eyes, and he found them a little familiar, but he couldn’t remember who the person was.

“Yan-ge, it’s me, I didn’t expect I’d be able to meet you here, what a coincidence.”

Yu Linxi pulled down his mask, greeting him with a somewhat cute and hidden excitement.

“What a coincidence.”

Yan Qin remembered who this person was, he was Lin Sui’s godbrother.

He knew this person when he was by Lin Sui’s side, they had eaten together a few times, the young man seemed to be his fan, and had tactfully expressed his admiration on the second time they met.

Because of Lin Sui, Yan Qin was naturally happy to make friends with his relatives and friends, he’d even exchanged contact details with this young man, but they hadn’t really spoken afterwards.

“Are you also having dinner here?”

Yan Qin’s question seemed casual, but an indescribable sense of expectation arose in his heart.

Yu Linxi nodded: “Yes, our limited-time group is about to disband, so we came here to eat together.”

Yan Qin’s sense of expectation vanished, and he politely said: “Have fun.”

Yu Linxi was getting ready to leave when he hesitated a bit before turning around and asking: “Yan-ge, did you and Lin-ge have a falling out recently?”

Yu Linxi recalled the rumours he’d read recently, as well as what he’d indirectly found out from Fu Nai, and was a little worried.

He’d been very expectant and happy when he first found out that Lin Sui and Yan Qin might have a thing, after all, one was his close godbrother and one was his idol, so it was simply double happiness for him if the two of them could be together, and he still really hoped the two could be together nicely.

Yan Qin pursed his lips, not really knowing how to explain.

“I think you two are very suitable, Yan-ge, don’t lose heart. Lin-ge’s temper has been a little strange since uncle passed away and auntie was too busy with work to take care of him, and when you interact with him you can find that he’s an especially arrogant person, but maybe what his mouth says is different from what his heart thinks.”

Yu Linxi encouraged Yan Qin, and his phone vibrated for a bit at that moment.

“My teammate’s calling me, so I’ll end the conversation, see you next time.”

Yu Linxi looked at the message on his phone and waved at Yan Qin, hurrying away.

Yan Qin opened the water tap and became a little lost in thought with the sound of the water.

Lin Sui was really a little duplicitous. Although he put on that look on his face, Yan Qin felt that Lin Sui clearly also had feelings for him.

If he didn’t like him, then why would he look at him with a sort of tenderness in his eyes every once in a while?

If he didn’t like him, why would he call out his name in the midst of his delirium or when he was having a nightmare?

Yan Qin went back to drinking with Liu Buqun for a while until Liu Buqun got drunk, then he called his assistant to come and take him.

Yan Qin was also a little intoxicated. After returning home, he stared at that white button for a while, then lowered his head and continued reading a script.

Liu Buqun’s script was of high quality, he would have liked it in the past, but now he found it hard to get into character.

Yan Qin looked at the black letters printed on the page and made up his mind.

If he really wanted to reach another height until he could possess Lin Sui, he couldn’t go on like this.

If he wanted to sieze the match, then he had to begin with the person that planted the seed of preoccupation in his heart.

It wasn’t difficult for Yan Qin to find Lin Sui’s tracks.

Lin Sui sat on the front row of the event venue and didn’t glance at the people outside of his position.

Yan Qin conversed with the people around him in a low voice, also not casting glances around.

In the eyes of others, the situation was that of a serious break up. After all, there were plenty of people in the circle who were at odds with each other, but if they wouldn’t even pretend in public, it clearly showed that their relationship had worsened to a certain extent.

Lin Sui lowered his head and fiddled with the ring on his finger, laughing softly on the inside.

He had said Yan Qin was too deep into the role, and Yan Qin had really carried it out in the end.

Only the role he’d entered into was not An Xu, but rather Ying Ting.

The surreptitious gaze was ambiguous and blazing, following his every move.

He was too familiar with Yan Qin’s gaze. He heard the puppy hadn’t been doing too well recently, and that he’d rejected many scripts after wrapping up the previous movie. It seemed like he’d encountered a bottleneck.

Lin Sui wasn’t planning on blindly pressuring him, the best choice was to reject and attract simultaneously.

He should give him an opportunity.

When Autumn came, the temperature dropped sharply.

There was only one night in between the previous scorching heat and the constant rain and overcast skies.

In the mist of the night rain, Yan Qin received a call.

“Yan-ge, can you come take Lin-ge back home? My agent suddenly came to find me for a very important thing and I have to leave, I looked for Lin Sui’s agent but couldn’t find her, his assistants aren’t here either.”

Yu Linxi looked at the heavily-intoxicated Lin Sui sitting on the sofa, feeling a little awkward.

They were having dinner with a good friend tonight, and for some unknown reason the two of them had gotten into a drinking competition. That friend was already lying under the table, and he hadn’t drunk much to deal with the aftermath.

He’d actually kept his mind and intentionally called Yan Qin.

Yan Qin hurried over and took the already mentally muddled Lin Sui.

“Why did he drink so much?”

“He was competing with a friend.”

Yu Linxi answered helplessly, about to call his other friend’s family.

“I’ll take him first.”

“Okay, be careful on your way.”

Looking at Lin Sui’s appearance, Yan Qin also felt like he wouldn’t be able to wear a mask, so when they got off the lift he drew Lin Sui into his arms so that others wouldn’t be able to see his face, and he put on a mask himself, so he wasn’t too worried.

Yan Qin helped Lin Sui into the back seat of the car, positioning his legs so that he would be as comfortable as possible.

“Why are you here?”

The drunk person opened his somewhat misty eyes, looking at the man in front of him.

“I came to fulfil my duties as a plaything.”

Yan Qin pushed aside the inky hair on Lin Sui’s clammy forehead in a gentle motion.

The person who’d had his train of thought eroded by the alcohol seemed a little sluggish, staring at him blankly.

The lights in the underground garage were dim, and the glistening layer of water illuminated in the beauty’s eyes seemed to contain mist.

“You’re so eager to be a dog, but I only like obedient dogs.”

Lin Sui held Yan Qin’s face in his hands, intimately rubbing against it with the tip of his nose.

His words were belittling and incredibly doting.

“Good boy.”

The young man’s voice was ambiguously tender, and his raised brows were pleased.

“You’re drunk, I’ll take you back home first.”

“Here’s fine.”

Lin Sui licked at the outer corner of Yan Qin’s eye with the tip of his tongue, his attitude wilful and compelling.
