The True Queen

"She's still not talking?" One of the doctors in charge of Anna's recovery questions one of the nurses in charge. There are three nurses on standby outside Anna's room. Outside her room, there's a small office where computers and cameras are set up.

This is to make sure that Anna won't do anything to harm herself or the nurses again. After she woke up, she tried to stab a nurse with the syringe she hid under her pillow. She also fell on purpose leading to her almost healed feet to worsen.

"Yes, Dr. Chu," the nurse sighed.

"Damn it! We have to do something. The madam is getting impatient. She said that her daughter's injury isn't healing and she's blaming it on us! The madam is the biggest sponsor of the hospital. If something happens to her daughter, we will go down with her. There's also a possibility that...will be buried with her!"

The nurse shivered.

"Dr., I'm afraid that this isn't something that a hospital can heal alone. I think this is a problem of the spirit. Have you seen her eyes? It's raging in anger, and sometimes she's emotionless like she lost her soul," the nurse whispered.

"Shut up!" The doctor looked around, and luckily, the guards weren't listening to them. There are guards all around, and they're always talking to someone. A slight of word against the lady inside and you'll pay with your life.

But within his heart, the doctor agreed with the nurse. It's even a miracle that the lady survived! It's just that she won't be normal after this. Who will be if you were tortured? She was thoroughly abused and disfigured. More than half of her face is scr.a.p.ed and chewed on.

Rumors are flying around, and it seemed there are seeds of truth in it. This woman can't be trampled.

"How's my daughter?" She asked in a warm voice but you can't mistake the threat in her eyes.

"She's...she's...the same as the other days, madam. She's still unresponsive," the doctor replies. He paled when Mariana Han stared at him. She walked away, signaling her men to turn off the cameras inside.

She disappeared inside.

Inside, two women are staring at each other. One without emotion and the other is wary.

"Are you forever going to be like this? You'll let them get away? The people who did this to you are out there right now, living their lives," Mariana said in a clear voice. Her words shook Anna's heart.

"Why...why are you...helping me?" A raspy voice questions. A slight smile appears in Mariana's face but disappears in an instant.

"Because of the girl, I saw six months ago on that stormy night. That girl was stubborn, courageous, with literally no fear! She stood in front of my car without fear of getting run over. Where is that woman now?"

Anna's desolate eyes turned bright, and something burned inside her.

"I'm here," she replied.

"Good, this is your new life, little girl. What's your name?"
