Episode 6: My Brother Lost His Memory (V)

“Schulva.”

“Yes.”

“That girl and I… Did we get along? ‘Baby’, ‘Rosie Rosie’, did I really like her so much that I even said such embarrassing things?”

“You said she was so lovable that no matter where you looked in the world, there would be no one like her.”

Schulva answered immediately.

“I thought she would still be very fragile because you hid and cherished her in the annex… Looks like that wasn’t it. I guess you were too overprotective, so she just kept quiet.”

Then he muttered with a thoughtful face.

“Situational judgment… She is really amazing. Actually, I was also confused, so I didn’t even think about what Lady Rosie pointed out.”

“What did she point out?”

“That you have many enemies. In this situation, you shouldn’t leave the county residence… And the same goes for property matters.”

It had only been a few hours since Julian woke up.

Schulva was stunned by Julian’s amnesia itself.

Especially… Julian had lived for several years as the strongest no one dared to touch. So he hadn’t thought of that yet.

“She is smarter than I thought…”

“Hmm.”

Julian thought that the praise for Rosie was nice.

“…Does she look like me?”

“Well, not that much…”

Schulva, who was indeed Julian’s childhood friend, spoke coldly and directly.

“First of all, you’re a beast with a bad temper, but Lady Rosie is a cute squirrel. Even with the same silver hair and green eyes, the impression is completely different.”

“That’s right, we have the same silver hair and green eyes.”

“You only hear what you want to hear.”

Julian brushed his hair carelessly and snorted. And for a moment he thought of his sister, who suddenly disappeared.

“Ha, you passed it on to your sister? Of course, the idiot who seemed like he would take out his liver and gallbladder and carefully give it to her…”

How much did the 24-years-old Julian Noart fawn over that girl, to the point everyone would say something like that?

He didn’t know, it must be a lot as everyone accepted it and said, ‘In the end, the madman did something crazy for that sister’ when it was known he handed over all his property to his 12-years-old younger sister.

And did Rosie lose such a brother in an instant?

He felt bad at the thought of her loss.

“Anyway, she or I… Parental blessings don’t seem to come.”

Then, could she consider the property left by the 24-years-old Julian Noart as consolation money?

It was money he didn’t even know existed. So, if he handed it over to his sister, who he also didn’t know existed… His body and mind would be at ease, and that would be a good ending.

“Thank you for waking up.”

Even so, she even said that to him who couldn’t even remember her…

Julian slowly closed his eyes and asked Schulva in a low tone.

“…Roughly how much money did I have?”

He must have accumulated about 5,000 gold since he was the heir to a famous count family.

With that much money, one could buy a good house on the outskirts of the capital, so it seemed like a lot of money for a child to have.

Thanks to that, she would be able to live without worrying about money until she became an adult…

“It’s hard to tell you the exact amount right now.”

Schulva answered seriously with a blank expression.

“A rough estimate… would be about 137 billion gold.”

“No… F*ck! What? How much? What?”

Julian’s eyes widened as he tried to get up, but he felt a great pain in his leg and collapsed on the bed again with a scream.

“Ouch!!!!!!”

After leaving Julian’s room, I let out a deep sigh while hugging the documents tightly.

Heidi, who was waiting for me outside, came quickly to my side.

“Lady Rosie, are you okay? Were you very surprised? You must feel bad.”

There was a look of concern in her eyes.

“I don’t feel well…”

I smiled slightly and nodded.

“But it was expected.”

“…The attending doctor says that his memory may come back suddenly one day. Let’s wait patiently.”

I lowered my eyes sadly. I felt lonely.

‘If I wait really well, will the day come when Julian will regain his memory?’

Before regressing, Julian could not regain his memory until he died. It was because he died as soon as he left the county, saying ‘I’m going to my old house’ in a state where he couldn’t even move.

‘Zahid told me that it was a conspiracy by the temple… Maybe the people in this house are involved too. They’re all enemies of Julian.’

I must be unconditionally wary of the relatives living together in this house.

In fact, back then, they took all of Julian’s property in the same way they had attempted to today.

‘But it’s more dangerous to leave this house.’

Even though our grandfather, Count Noart, was absent, his limbs were still scattered throughout this space. So, no one had the liver to kill Julian here.
(TL/N: ‘limbs’ or ‘hands and feet’ means his people, and ‘liver’ means guts.)

In that sense, this mansion was the safest place for us now.

‘Me too… I will never leave here.’

For a while, I looked at the wide view of the Noart’s residence stretching far into the distance.

Between the beautiful gardens, grandfather’s children and grandchildren’s dwellings were prepared. So, it was like three generations living together.

My maternal grandfather, Count Caliburn Noart, was a wealthy man who could control the empire.

The reason why such a great person was a count was simple.

‘Because the highest position you can get with money and marriage in the empire is a count.’

Caliburn Noart was a former slave of the temple.

He had extraordinary ambition, without blood or tears. He started from the bottom of the empire and reached the top as a count.

Thus, all of his children worked hard to catch his eye. The wealth and power he achieved was literally staggering.

And he declared that all this was for the downfall of the temple. It was because he was greatly disillusioned from being a slave in the temple.

The annex where I was staying was in the most secluded place even in the vast count’s mansion.

I had heard about our mother from Julian before.

Our mother, Vallia Noart, was still openly called ‘The disgrace of The County of Noart’.

It was only the beginning that she met eyes with a servant who worked in the kitchen and ran away from home to give birth to Julian.

“When I was 12, she suddenly left in the middle of the night. Maybe she got pregnant and ran away.”

One day, out of the blue, she deserted her son and husband and made another night flight.

“Ah, I think your father was a low-level priest who was briefly dispatched to the village.”

Divine power was inherited.

This was how I finally found out why I had divine powers.

But it was weak. If I had been born with a lot of divine power, I would have become a priest at the temple and at least had a good time.

However, since I only had a small amount, I was an apprentice doing chores.

In any case, Julian put me in the annex and hid me tightly, saying that it would be better not to be noticed by our grandfather who hated temples.

So, I had never met my grandfather or my relatives properly.

“All our relatives are greedy and cunning… Actually, this is not a place for a child to be in. I, when I was 19-years-old, had a hard time when I first came.”

“Really? But in the end, the heir to the county became Brother. Brother must have been more greedy and cunning than them.”

“Wow, how can our Rosie Rosie know the true nature of a situation like this! Yes, that’s it!”

Now that Julian, who was a thorn in their eyes, lost his memory, how happy our relatives must be.

It was then.

“Hey, stop.”

At the sudden voice, both Heidi and I were startled and stopped walking towards the annex.

From where the voice came from, a boy a little taller than me was grinning.

“Are you that ‘apprentice’?”

A boy with light brown hair and green eyes like mine approached me.

“I heard your brother has lost his mind right now? What about you?”

Stunned, I gasped for breath.

‘Ah, this kid…’

Ame: Little did Rosie know then she will be the greediest and most cunning of them all pfft—

Oh I must say, the beginning is a little slow, there are a ton of things to set up. But trust me, the story is good, there are layers to the plot, the only thing I can predict for sure is that the temple will burn and ruin… eventually! I’ve already read all of part 1 ;-; now not-so-patiently for part 2 to drop in august… but first! Next episode, we got a brat to fry :<

Tassie: I’m so ready for Rosie to beat this kid up! Also place your bets in the comments whether her grandfather will hate or or become her biggest support. I’m betting for the latter XD
