Episode 11: My Brother Lost His Memory (X)

A little lost in thought, Caliburn ordered his aide.

“Change route.”

“Yes?”

The aide blinked in surprise.

“No, because of a request from your granddaughter, who you have never spoken to before… Are you really changing routes?”

“Please. This is a trade offer. Look. It says ‘Buy’.”

In front of the bewildered aide, Caliburn spoke lowly.

“I came this far with my business. And do you know what principles I have followed throughout my business?”

He smirked as he looked at the small fingerprint stamped on Rosie’s correspondence.

“No matter who the person, I will respond to the first desperate deal. It’s not too late to judge his or her value afterwards. Isn’t it better than ignoring the jackpot and then regretting it later?”

“Ah…”

“Not to mention my granddaughter is going to pay for it, so I have to find out what it is.”

And Caliburn got on the horse again without delay.

Rosie really came to Julian’s room to have lunch.

She came in a completely different outfit from the morning and helped Julian, who was still unable to move, with his meal.

“Ah. Ahhhh. Open wider. Don’t compromise with your mouth muscles so easily. Eating and living is not so easy.”

“Weren’t your hopes for the future bright? Have you changed again?”

“Ugh.”

Julian quietly opened his mouth very wide and asked like he was very concerned.

“And little one, tell me about your engagement in detail.”

“I don’t have much to say.”

Rosie shrugged her shoulders and replied.

“I just put in the proposal because there was a kid I wanted to get engaged to. That’s it.”

Julian sighed before letting out a snort. Then he frowned and murmured.

“It’s impossible to explain, but I am very angry. It’s just a natural rejection. Why?”

Schulva got very nervous and commented to Rosie, his eyes darting around.

“I guess he still has some of his old instincts.”

A weak cry was mixed with his dry tone.

“Now, when Lord Julian’s memories come back, I will really die. He is going to spit fire and curse, going ‘My baby Rosie Rosie,  what do you mean that you have a fiancé?’”

“Hey, I can hear everything?”

Whether or not Julian protested, Schulva sighed and touched his forehead.

“I’ve now… This is a body that can’t sincerely wish for Lord Julian to find his memories.”

“Calm down, Schulva. At times like this, thinking positively will help calm your mind.”

Rosie raised her small hand and patted Schulva’s arm to comfort him.

“If my brother finds his memory, it’s good because you don’t have to look after an adolescent kid anymore, and if he can’t find his memory, it’s good because your life is spared from a madman.”

“Hey little one. Why are you kicking me while comforting Schulva? Why?”

Julian, who had become a child and a madman, was angry again.

But soon he quietly munched the salad Rosie had put into his mouth. And, as if embarrassed, he changed the subject.

“What… Wasn’t it difficult yesterday because those people flocked to you?”

“It was hard. I just keep saying I don’t know.”

Rosie tilted her head and continued.

“But they seemed to be having a harder time. So it was fine.”

For Julian, a child who made people go crazy with an innocent face was clearly pictured in his eyes.

He sighed inwardly and thought.

‘That’s a strong-willed idiot…’

However, even if she was a strong-willed idiot, a child was a child.

Julian carefully said.

“Hey, little one. So, I’m thinking…”

“You’re not going to say you want to cancel the transfer of the property, are you?”

Julian’s mouth, which wanted to say that very thing, was shut for a moment.

It wasn’t that he was greedy for money.

But… 137 billion gold.

Wasn’t that too much money for a 12-year-old with no reliable guardians?

“Hey, I’ll keep you safe until you become an adult. Really.”

In the end, Julian sighed and said that he wanted to cancel the transfer of his property.

“Now that money… There is too much and it seems too dangerous. No matter how I am, I’m older than you, so what do you think of just giving it back to me?”

“I don’t think so.”

Rosie put a piece of meat in Julian’s mouth and said,

“Before I was sent to the temple, there was a saying at the orphanage where I stayed for a short time as a child. To not believe in words like, ‘I’ll keep that money until you grow up.’”

“…….”

“On top of that, if you add the words, ‘I’ll invest in you and make a good name for you,’ just run away right away.”

That orphanage taught her really good things.

It wasn’t a mistake, so Julian touched his forehead.

“Then let’s do this.”

Rosie blinked and suggested.

“You don’t have 137 billion gold, so you don’t have anyone to face, so you need to study. I’ll give it back to you when you reach the level of a normal 24-year-old.”

“What? Study? Suddenly? Holy shit, why am I…”

“Why? You don’t want to do it?”

“Of course! Suddenly… study? I have never studied anything!”

“You’ve never tried it, so you’re going to try it. Brother could be a genius…”

In an instant, Rosie lowered her head and showed a sullen expression.

“If Brother really cared about me, he would quickly become a learned adult and take back the 137 billion gold…”

“…….”

“Huh….”

Julian groaned softly and covered his eyes with his intact hand.

‘That’s a tough nut to crack…’

In the end, Julian could only sigh and mutter.

“…I get it. Right away. It’s true that I’m bored, so I’ll give it a try.”

“Great!”

Rosie’s sullen face brightened in an instant.

After the meal, Schulva reported in a polite manner.

“Oh, and Lady Rosie.”

“Yes, Schulva.”

“I heard about it when I went to the main building, but today, Madam Monica put your property on the agenda for the next monthly meeting.”

“…Okay.”

At Schulva’s report, Rosie quietly nodded her head. She seemed to know that.

‘I don’t know the letters. Brother was going to invest somewhere, but I can’t remember.’ There was a limit to holding out with these words.

“Since Lady Rosie is still young and the amount is so large, the adults in the family suggest for it to be decided at a monthly meeting.”

“Eh?”

Only Julian could not understand this. He widened his eyes.

“Why do adults decide that? What monthly meetings?”

“The monthly meeting is a meeting where people with the surname of ‘Noart’ gather every month to decide on various things.”

Rosie answered calmly.

“Perhaps they will take care of Brother’s property until I grow up because it is Noart’s property. I did say I would invest in a good place.”

Rosie spoke calmly.

“If I don’t decide who to leave the money with by the next monthly meeting, it’s likely the three of them will share it.”

“What? F*ck, it’s my money, why are they making a fuss…”

“Don’t worry. Because I have a plan. Brother should just work hard on recovering.”

At that moment, something made Julian frown. Also, it was touching to feel that this child was struggling in her own way.

“And say it right, Brother.”

Then Rosie grinned.

“It’s not your money, it’s my money.”

“…….”

Julian was speechless.

Rosie slowly got up and bid farewell

“I’ll come back for dinner, Brother. I’ll keep your money really well and multiply it several times before returning it.”

Wait, this…

Sensing something strange, Julian screamed.

“What? Hey! That’s the same advice they gave you at the orphanage!”

“Woah, it seems you have good memory and application skills.”

Rosie stepped back and waved her hand.

“Indeed, I think you will do well if you start studying. Then, see you later!”

Without blinking an eye, Rosie smirked and slipped out the door.

Julian’s mouth was wide open. He blinked blankly. He couldn’t even chase because both his legs were in casts.

“Really… who do you resemble? Who on earth did my mother have an affair with?”

Even so, the words ‘I’ll come again for dinner’ lingered in his ears. It seemed that the little one would return, she was really strong-willed.

Julian scratched the back of his head.

“I don’t remember anything about you… Why do you want to see me again?”

And he forcibly lowered the corners of his lips that were sneakily rising like an idiot.
