Zhou You slept soundly until the middle of the night when he was woken up by a shock. This shaking was too familiar. It was an earthquake again.

He quickly put on his backpack and jumped downstairs from the window with his suitcase. The tremor was getting stronger. The focal point of the earthquake might be nearby.

Seeing that the buildings collapsed one by one, Zhou You quickly ran to the forest. When he jumped out of the city wall, he looked back and saw that all the previously intact buildings had become ruins.

In a short time, it would be occupied by vegetation and become part of the forest. It would be difficult to see the traces left by human beings.

Zhou You saw the ruins disappear with his own eyes, and his heart was heavy. No wonder he didn’t see the old towns after walking so far.

It turned out that they were swallowed up by the forest bit by bit.

Can human beings still survive on the earth?

Entering the forest again, Zhou You found that the tremor in the forest was significantly weaker. The tree roots were well developed, firmly grasping the land and suppressing the tremor.

No wonder the beasts did not flee in a panic. It was just him, a human, who was in a difficult position.

It wasn’t dawn yet. Zhou You didn’t dare to rush around in the forest and lie on a big tree branch.

The stars in the night sky were shining. It was a rare fine view. Unfortunately no one beside him was around to enjoy the scenery.

“Chirp…” There were birds flying in the sky. Zhou You subconsciously held his breath.

He saw three colorful birds flying over  one after another, each of which was bigger than the one he killed before, and the colors were gorgeous. He had no idea what breed it was.

He was so curious. In addition to growing in size, almost all the beasts he saw along the way had some strange mutations that he didn’t know the cause of.

If animals and plants were mutating, then humans should also be changing. Why didn’t he seem to have any changes?

Touching here and there before finding that he had a beard all over his face, Zhou You remembered that he hadn’t looked at his appearance since he left the cave.

He happened to have a razor in his suitcase. As soon as it dawned, he ran to the river.

A big wild boar was drinking water by the river. When it heard something approaching, it looked back and saw Zhou You.

The wild boar was so excited and rushed towards Zhou You. Zhou You even think that it took him as its breakfast.

Zhou You threw away his suitcase and backpack, cracked his knuckles and shouted, “Come here just right, I want to eat pork!”

This wild boar was huge, about the size of an adult elephant, and the two long fangs at the corners of its mouth looked very scary, not to mention the impact force. If he was knocked down by it, it was impossible not to be injured.

Zhou You wouldn’t take a risk of directly confronting it. Relying on agile footwork and running around in circles, he successfully made it dizzy.

One punch hit the boar on the forehead, he could clearly hear the sound of bone crack and the screams of the wild boar. Zhou You estimated that his full-strength blow should weigh thousands of pounds.

He slumped on the ground gasping for breath, looked at the destroyed vegetation around him, stroked his chest and said, “Oh my god… even a wild boar has become so ferocious. If I encounter tigers and lions, will I even have a chance to escape?”

Poor Zhou You was full of confidence when he left the customs, and he was hit one after another within a few days.

If it hadn’t been for completing the first book of Taiyi Heart Sutra, he would have wanted to go back to the cave to continue practicing.

After he had recovered his breath, he cut a piece of the wild boar meat. He had eaten the wild boar meat ten years ago, but he didn’t know whether this mutant variety could be eaten.

The army knife had become so blunt that even the boar’s skin couldn’t be cut. Zhou You looked at the boar’s fangs. These teeth were the sharpest things on the boar’s body, perhaps it could poke its own skin.

Using his internal strength, Zhou You successfully pulled out the two fangs before trying to pierce the body of the wild boar with the tip. This time, he succeeded.

If he ground the fang into a knife, it could be made into a treasured knife that its sharpness could cut iron like mud.

He only took a piece of wild boar meat that weighed about three kilograms, because with this amount of meat alone, he couldn’t finish nor could he pack it. Bringing meat would attract more carnivorous beast from its smell of blood.

Zhou You took the meat back to the river and started to make a fire to roast the meat.

The fire was lit and the light of the fire gave a little more warmth to the gloomy forest.

Zhou You cut the meat into thin slices and skewered it on the branches to roast. The meat was fragrant even without any condiments, the smell and visuals made him drool.

When the skewers were ready, Zhou You immediately grabbed one and stuffed it in his mouth. The meat was so scorching hot that it burnt his tongue, but he was reluctant to spit it out. He blew it a few times as he chewed and swallowed it.

“Delicious!”

Because he hadn’t eaten meat for too long, this wild boar tasted better than the taste of meat he remembered. It felt like the most delicious meat he had ever eaten in his life. And after that, he felt his body warm up and it swept away all his tiredness, the feeling of full of strength.

“If I cut a piece of pork belly to make braised pork, it would be even more delicious!” Zhou You ate all the skewers then went to wash his hands and rinsed his mouth.

He saw his current appearance from the reflection of the river, with a beard all over his face, loose long hair, with only a few strips of cloth hanging from his body, and a large leaf around his waist, a complete savage image.

He began to clean his beard and hair in front of the river. After that, he jumped into the river and took a bath. During that time, he was attacked by several strange looking fish. Fortunately, there were no big fish in this small river, so it was easy to solve it by swimming away.

“Squeak… squeak…” A few little monkeys came out of the woods, walked towards the fire, sniffing around, and finally picked up the branches on the ground and licked them, squeaking greedily.

Seeing the cute little monkeys, Zhou You caught a few fish from the river and threw them ashore.

“If you didn’t come to fight with me, how about I grill the fish for you?”

These little monkeys were probably not yet adults, their height only about Zhou You’s chest, not like the beasts he met before. So Zhou You was not afraid of them and even thought they were a little cute. After all, monkeys were also close relatives of humans.

The little monkeys circled excitedly around the fire. Some went to catch the fish on the ground, and then threw them into the fire, the sparks flew everywhere, and they jumped back into the dense forest.

Zhou You came up and put on his clothes, added some grass to the fire, and when the fire started to burn again, he said to the other side, “If you don’t eat it, I will eat it myself.”

The fish in this river was also organic fish[produced under natural conditions in accordance with the principles of organic agriculture without any use of preservative additives and without any genetic modifications, that are fed feed produced from natural raw materials], the meat was fresh and tender, and the taste must be unparalleled. Although he was full by eating skewers just now, it should be no problem to stuff another fish.

After a few minutes, a daring little monkey poked his head out of a tree, slowly moved over and sat opposite Zhou You, staring at him for a long time, as if it was studying what species this creature was, why it could make a fire, and why it could roast delicious meat.

Zhou You skewered more than a dozen fish and roasted them together on the fire. He also taught the little monkey to turn the branches themselves to make each side evenly heated. The aroma of the roasted fish finally attracted the other little monkeys to run out and sit around the fire.

Zhou You watched them eat grilled fish with a smile, and thought to himself: It seems that not all animals want to fight with humans to the bitter end, how good it is for everyone to live in peace.

But this thought didn’t last long, because the mother monkey came. The gorilla-like female monkey bared its teeth at Zhou You, intimidated him, then grabbed the rocks on the ground and smashed it at him while calling out its babies.

The little monkeys quickly ran back to their mother, still holding the unfinished grilled fish in their hands. Zhou You didn’t want to fight with it, and raised his middle finger at them.

“Wronged a person of goodwill!1“ Then he picked up his luggage and ran quickly across the river.
