Chapter 9 Black Widow Escaped

In the laboratory, there were various sizes of instruments around. It was filled with the beauty of machines.

Dr. Zola as usual lied on the sleeping device. Leo pulled the handle sending Dr. Zola to dreamland.

Looking at the robot in front of him, Leo used his skill.

After many days of hard work, Leo took another huge step toward conquering Dr. Zola’s body!

With the exhaustion of Mechanical Force and accumulation from previous times. Currently, the completion rate had reached 70%.

Leo sat on a chair in the laboratory and started circulating “Mechanical Force Extraction”. He extracted the surrounding Mechanical Force and slowly restored the Mechanical Force within his body.

After Leo’s Mechanical Force was completely restored, he did not continue analyzing Dr. Zola’s body as usual. Instead, he started fiddling with Dr. Zola’s sleeping device.

Dr. Zola’s sleeping device could help him to delete a large amount of unnecessary data created by the robot’s body and communicate with the other clones all around the globe, determining his main consciousness.

It also had a charging function. On top of that, the sleeping device had other weird and old functions making it look very bulky.

So every time Dr. Zola slept, the sleeping device used a large amount of energy.

The base energy source came from a small nuclear power plant. Every time Dr. Zola slept, the power plant would prioritize Dr. Zola’s sleeping device by providing half of the energy to it.

Thus, if Leo messed with Dr. Zola’s sleeping device a bit. He could temporarily overload the power plant. In order to restore the power plant, restarting it was the only way.

By that time, the whole base would have a power failure. The special metal wire that imprisoned Natasha would lose its function. Hence, it was the best time for Natasha to escape.

This type of power failure could only be counted as an accident, it could be blamed on Leo.

Because according to the original Leo’s memories, before Dr. Zola asked Leo to do the daily adjustments on the sleeping device, the base would have a power failure at least five to six times annually.

As Leo kept on messing with the sleeping device, the indicator on the in started to sway constantly, and the various alarms started flashing.

Leo hurried back to his room and took off his jacket. He lied down in his bed with the lights on.

After counting the time for a while, he started having a countdown in his heart.

Ten, nine, eight, seven, …

Three!

Two!

One!

Zero!

The ceiling lights in Leo’s room went out and the surrounding fell into darkness.

Woo-woo-woo…

At the same time, the alarms in the base began sounding. The emergency lights started to light up.

Leo jumped out of the bed and rushed to Dr. Zola’s laboratory without even putting his coat on.

Dr. Zola, who was sleeping on the sleeping device in the laboratory, was awakened by the emergency wake-up function.

“Teacher, something went wrong with the sleeping device and the whole base had a power failure. It’s all my fault, yesterday I did not adjust the device properly.”, Leo apologized guiltily to Dr. Zola and his expression was perfect.

Because his current expression was the real reaction of the original Leo when the power was cut off for the past five times. So this time, Leo could act perfectly without any difficulties.

“It’s not your fault and it’s not the first time for it to happen. You have done well enough.”, as usual, Dr. Zola consoled Leo.

But the next moment, the screen on Dr. Zola’s chest changed.

“This is bad, the power is cut off. The containment device on Black Widow will lose its function. I have to tell Miss Sinthea.” After he spoke, he ran off with his two robot legs and ran pretty fast. Leo hurriedly followed behind Dr. Zola.

Both of them had just run to the door when a scream came from the right side of the corridor.

Leo and Dr. Zola stopped and saw Black Widow knocking down an agent. Then she rummaged through the agent’s body and found a military canteen. She took a big mouthful of water from it.

“Teacher, this way!”, Leo saw Black Widow did not notice him and Dr. Zola and shouted with a low voice. He grabbed Dr. Zola’s robot arm and ran towards the other end of the corridor.

“Black Widow had escaped! But why she doesn’t head to the exit, instead she came down?”, Dr. Zola asked in doubt while being pulled by Leo as he ran. He was not afraid of death so he remained calm and rational. 

“Teacher, I also don’t know! We don’t have much time, we have to escape!”

In reality, Leo knew why Black Widow came to the laboratory. Because he was the one who told her to.

Leo’s laboratory was right next to Dr. Zola’s laboratory and he had made a pair of Lightweight Power Arms waiting in the laboratory.

That pair of Lightweight Power Arm was Leo’s powerful weapon for Black Widow.

But Leo did not expect Black Widow to arrive this fast. Fortunately, he had slipped away, or else if he met Black Widow, it might not be a problem that could be resolved with a laugh.

Who knew whether Black Widow would kill him in a fit of rage…

The moment the power was cut off, Natasha mustered all of her strength to break free from the steel hoop. Then she rapidly ran to Leo’s laboratory as she followed the plan Leo had drawn for her.

There was only the dimly lit emergency light and flashing alarm. Natasha did not meet anyone else so she could arrive near her destination smoothly.

Then she saw an agent who was patrolling. The agent did expect himself to encounter a monster-like enemy on the sixth level. He could not react at all and was subdued by Natasha without firing even once.

She grabbed the agent’s arm and swung him around and slammed him onto the floor. The agent painfully screamed then went silent.

Natasha was starving and thirsty, so she rummaged through the agent’s body and found a canteen. She took a mouthful of water so she ignored the mastermind who was standing in front of Dr. Zola’s laboratory.

Natasha walked to the entrance of Leo’s laboratory and opened the door with a slight twist on the door handle. She entered the room and went straight to the mechanical table’s second-row third drawer from the right.

Inside the drawer were two bottles of compressed nutrient liquid that Leo had prepared beforehand. Natasha drank the two bottles in one go finally relieving her hunger.

Then as per Leo’s instructions, she found the memory unit and other things. The most important thing was the pair of Lightweight Power Arms.

Natasha fumbled for a bit, finally done equipping the mechanical arms. She moved her arms around feeling her action very smooth and natural.

A reassuring sense of power came out from the mechanical arms. Natasha satisfyingly nodded and spoke with confidence, “This is a great thing, looks like that man was not just all talk. Even if I meet Bucky now, I can beat him!”

Then she swung her arms around looking very fierce!

After being imprisoned for so long, it was time to get out!
