Chapter 67 Product Launch

Heather suddenly was distracted as she was busy musing about the relationship between Matt and Bucky.

However, the meeting was still proceeding. The crowd was unaware that Heather’s imagination was running wild and assumed she had finished presenting.

Leo believed Gawain and Heather’s presentation was well done, their analysis was on the mark. He thought Heather had done talking and thus asked, “What about the others? Anyone else would like to add something?”

Bucky shrugged, signaling he had nothing to say, Ol’ Tom was full of smiles apparently having no issues while Foggy was still nervous, afraid to be stared at by Bucky.

Heather finally snapped out of it and noticed she missed her opportunity to continue. She was a youngster who just joined the workforce and was inexperienced. She was hesitating whether to interrupt or not.

Leo spotted her expression and smiled, “Heather, is there anything you want to add?”

Heather was gratified and hurriedly added, “I feel we should have a product launch. It will be easier for us to promote our product.”

Leo was red-faced as he forgot about this. This was the fault of being a layman.

In his past life, Leo had no experience in managing a company. Although Matt had suggested some books related to company management to him, Leo was immersed in the development of armor and suit. He had no time to deal with the books.

Among the attendees, only Heather who majored in Sales Management had thought of this.

As for the others, one was a computer nerd, an ex-mob, an American G.I., a criminal lawyer, and an experienceless chairman. All of them overlook such an important matter.

“Heather, you’re right. We should have a product launch. Since you thought of this, it shows your diligence. Do you already have a plan for it?”

Heather was flattered by Leo and handed a marketing plan to Leo. Taking the opportunity, she explained with a smile while Leo was reading it, “Since our company lacks a Marketing Department, I’ve taken these matters into my hand and prepared this plan in advance. Although I’m not a professional, I’ve gone through numerous pieces of information before making this plan. Chairman, if there are any oversights, I hope you can be understanding.”

Leo swiftly leafed through the plan and complimented, “Looks great. You’re the expert among all of us, you don’t need to be modest.”

He squeezed out a smile pretending he was knowledgeable about it.

In reality, Leo’s head throbbed when he saw the plan. What registering? What selection of venues? What selection of participants? What significance? He casually flipped it through.

How could Leo understand any of these meanings? He just knew this chip was awesome as hell and it will make money for sure!

Knowing this was enough as the sole shareholder of El Tech Company. The other matters could be left to the experts.

Thus, Leo said, “Heather, just do whatever you think is appropriate. Just say if you need the cooperation of other departments. This is our company’s first product launching to the market, I hope everything will be perfect.”

“Chairman, thank you for your trust and support. Most of the plans are completed, but there are still two matters that require everyone’s opinion.” Having received affirmation, she became confident in stating her ideas.

“Which two?”

“First, for our product launch, we can’t just invite potential customers, we also need some media coverage. I’ve contacted some of the big newspapers ad T.V. stations but seeing us being nameless, they showed disdain and thought we were bragging. So they are not willing to come. As for smaller media, I’m worried they will cheat off our money. So…”

Glancing at everyone else, Leo saw no one wished to voice out. Looks like they knew no one from the media.

All of a sudden, Leo had a bright idea. He recalled Mary Jane he met when first arrived at Hell’s Kitchen.

Leo remembered Mary Jane saying she was an intern journalist for a newspaper and even left him a name card. More than half a year went by, it was unknown whether she had a career change or not.

Since Leo still kept the name card, he could ring her up later tonight.

“Heather, don’t worry about this. I used to know a friend working for a newspaper. Tonight I’ll call and ask. By tomorrow afternoon, I’ll give you an answer. You said there were two matters, continue with the second one.”

Heather nodded in joy, “The second is the speaker. Although we can prepare a script beforehand, the speaker should be educated in the technical. He or she also must have some sales communication skills. I’ve no one to recommend here. So, can everyone recommend someone? Of course, the final choice remained in the Chairman’s hand.”

Everyone remained silent. Leo considered for a bit and asked, “Gawain, why don’t you have a try?”

“Boss, I’m a tech nerd. You can ask me to write some codes or screw some screws but I’m tongue-tied. I am also ignorant in sales, so I don’t think I’m suitable.”

Seeing Gawain declining, Leo did not force it.

Through this meeting, Leo deepened his understanding of the two deputies. To conclude, Heather could be promoted to Chief of Sales while Gawain continued being deputy was enough.

It was due to El Tech Company’s lack of personnel in the beginning or else if Gawain kept acting slothful, his current position would be in danger.

But all of these were off-topic. Leo’s greatest concern right now was the candidate for the speaker.

With the limited experiences Leo knew about the explosive era of the Internet in his past life, most of the product launch speakers were their company’s founders. For example, Xiaomi and Smartisan.

Leo was well-versed in the technical and his sales speech was barely acceptable. With a script, he could fumble his way through the entire launch.

However, what about Leo’s identity?! He was someone being tracked by H.Y.D.R.A. and being monitored by S.H.I.E.L.D.

Although Leo estimated H.Y.D.R.A. recently was beaten like a dog by Fury, a lean camel was still bigger than a horse. Leo felt the more time he had for growing, the better.

Thus, Leo could not become the speaker. Once he was exposed in the newspaper or T.V., his company was as good as gone.

However, for the sake of the company’s future, he required an appropriate speaker. But who?

Leo suddenly recalled the conversation Mary Jane had on the phone.

Ever since Leo had the Super Soldier Physique, his memory was greatly boosted. As long as he was willing, he could even remember something that occurred a long time ago.

Therefore, he distinctly recalled Mary Jane mentioning the Spider-Man, Peter Parker on the phone. Moreover, Mary Jane also stated she was a fresh university graduate.

Deducing this logic, Peter also graduated this year.

Every day Peter would become a superhero swinging around in Queens beating up villains, helping a granny crossing the street, and picking up a ball for a kid.

Hence, whether it was before or after graduation, he always was a penniless person that could not even pay his rent.
