Chapter 60 Who’s the Idiot?

Fury was furious but he could only stomach it since he was the one asking for aid. Natasha did not reply as she knew this was how Fury venting out his resentment.

As she imagined, he went back to talking with Leo after mumbling a bit.

Fury: Money is all I have.

Leo: You’re the one who said can give me anything, now money only? Looks like you aren’t that big of a deal in S.H.I.E.L.D.! How about you leave S.H.I.E.L.D. and play with us in H.Y.D.R.A.?

Fury: It’s useless for you to blabber nonsense. Just tell me are you willing to accept a monetary deal?

Fury was annoyed by Leo as he began acting rudely. Leo knew it was the time, so he pretended to ponder for a bit before replying.

Leo: One million per location.

“One million per location! Why don’t you rob the bank?!” Natasha could not help but yell. However, Fury thought otherwise.

“One million is nothing, even I felt he asked too little. Perhaps something is going on.” He thought for a while and probed.

Fury: I only want within the country, the other places are unacceptable!

Leo: Within the country? Five million per location.

“S*it, as I imagined! This guy is trying to mess with me using H.Y.D.R.A. base in other countries!” Fury praised his alertness for not falling into Leo’s trap.

Natasha asked in confusion, “How did he know so many H.Y.D.R.A. bases?! Is he trying to bamboozle us?!”

“We’ll know soon,” Fury added.

Fury: How do we know if it’s credible or not?

Leo: It’s up to you whether you trust it or not.

Thus, Fury chose to believe Leo. After intense bargaining, the deal was finalized with Fury paying two and a half million per location and Leo would provide the location and the distribution of its armed force.

It was unknown who was the idiot in this deal. However, Leo felt ‘you might not lose but I definitely benefited much’ while Fury was feeling the other way around.

Leo: Happy cooperation! Just transfer the money to this account and you’ll receive a random location. A friendly reminder, there are twenty-three bases I know of within the country.

Fury: I’m more interested in the H.Y.D.R.A. spies inside S.H.I.E.L.D., just name your price. Besides, I want the location of Starks’ killer as well.

Leo: Of course, I have these! But they’re not something money can buy. How about you deal with those H.Y.D.R.A. bases first? Once you have something I’m interested in, we can talk again.

Fury: What are you interested in?

Leo swiftly closed the chatting software instead of replying. In the spacious office, there was a tapping noise echoing. Leo, who was sitting on the chair tapping his table, was elated as he pondered how much Fury would give him.

At the same time, Fury and Natasha, in the lodging area of faraway S.H.I.E.L.D., were considering similar matters.

“Officer Fury, there are still spies lurking around within S.H.I.E.L.D. Even if we get the locations, there is no one to eliminate them.”

Fury smiled in confidence, “I was a colonel before I became a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and I knew many of the commanders in the army. I’m sure there will be a lot of volunteers eyeing for the credits since it’s S.H.I.E.L.D. paying.”

“How many locations should we buy for our first time?”

“Two is enough. If it’s too much I’m worried that Mr. Ivan Avatar will break off the deal.”

“Five million is a huge sum. It will be difficult for us to convince the UN Security Council with the amount of evidence we have.”

“Those d*mned S.H.I.E.L.D.’s executives had taken most of our agents! I’m sure it’s not too much to ask for some protection fees, right?! Once we have the capital to begin, the council won’t be stingy with their wallet when they see our results. I want you to dig out five million from those people’s wallets within three days.”

Therefore, Leo’s oversea account received another five million dollars three days later.

Leo browsed through the H.Y.D.R.A. bases’ location on the hard disk and chose two of the most defensive ones. Then, he sent the information to Nick Fury through the chatting software.

After sending the information, he picked up the phone on his desk and called someone. The call connected soon and Leo said, “Ol’ Tom, come to my office.”

Ol’ Tom now was the El Tech Company’s Chief of Logistics a.k.a an errand boy. His office was located on the fourth floor and soon he arrived at Leo’s office.

“Boss, is there anything I can help with?”

“Can you transfer some money in a mind-bending way to our company? And the final location must not be discovered.”

“Is it an illegal account?”

“The account is legal but someone should be keeping an eye on the money in it.”

“How much is there?”

“Six million.”

“It’s possible but I have to employ someone else to do it. For the most secure channel, they would need a twenty percent commission.”

Twenty percent was equivalent to one point two million and it was too much. It was undoubtedly cutting a piece of flesh from Leo. 

“I only accept five percent. Try contacting them, if they accept then good. If they don’t, bring Bucky and Black Fist Gang to beat them up.”

As a result, several million dollars were laundered and secretly transferred to Leo’s account. Now he finally had the funds to purchase advanced equipment for the assembly line of the high-performance chip.

Leo was unafraid of some ordinary people investigating his company. Although El Tech Company had yet officially opened for business, its security was on par with the huge conglomerate.

A while ago, Bucky had been training the members of the Black Fist Gang silently according to military standards. If there was any disobedient person, they would drag into the little black room for a five hours session of brainwashing and they became obedient afterward.

Furthermore, Bucky recently was beginning to deal with Wheel Gang to expand El Tech Company’s security force.

Soon, another seven days passed. Matt had successfully registered El Tech Company and Leo had received the deed for El Building.

For the next two days, Leo had gathered the trained thugs from Black Fist Gang to simply decorate the entrance. Now they were having a ribbon-cutting ceremony privately.

Simultaneously, Nick Fury was making his move in the shadows.
