Chapter 269 Bucky The Genius

After an intense discussion, the team’s name was officially decided as the “Marvel Mercenaries.” Everyone was rather pleased with the name and was eager for their first mission as a mercenary.

Having done with the consumption of the heart-shaped herb, planning future arrangements, and even finalizing the team’s name, Leo’s next step was to equip his teammates.

“Bucky, Natasha, your suits are ready. Come with me, I’ll take you to them and explain how to use them. Matt, Peter, you too. Once they are done with their suits, let me know your requirements for the suits, so I can have them tailor-made.” With that, Leo stood up and headed towards the exit.

Then, Leo surged his Mechanical Force and his Smart Utility Belt ejected two Forwarding Boxes. Once the boxes returned, two identical bracelets were left behind. Tilting the bracelets, he glanced at the engraved names on the inner side of the bracelets to confirm the names. Right after, he tossed each bracelet to their respective owners.

Bucky caught the bracelet with one hand and examined it briefly, unable to discern its secrets. Looking at Leo, he asked, “What’s this? The carvings on it look quite artistic.”

Natasha was equally puzzled about the bracelet’s function and looked at Leo with a questioning expression.

Chuckling, Leo answered, “This is cutting-edge technology! They are called the Marvel Band, a name I just came up with. From now on, it will be the standard equipment for the top members of our team. Your suits, weapons, and everything are stored within the band. The ‘carvings’ on it are real!”

Bucky swiftly understood what he was holding. It was a treasure akin to Leo’s belt. He couldn’t resist eagerly examining the bracelet, scrutinizing every carving one by one. “There’s definitely something that looks like a cloth. There are guns, knives, and swords…”

“Two sets of suits, two energy handguns with an effective range of fifty meters, two medium-range energy submachine guns, one long-range energy sniper rifle, and thirty-six types of melee weapons. All in your hand. Besides the weapons, the band can also serve as a communication device, can access the Internet, video functions, and even a camera.” Before Bucky could finish counting, Leo had already listed all the stuff stored within the bracelet.

“What’s the method then? Don’t keep us waiting,” Bucky impatiently urged, eager to don his new suit and soar through the sky.

Instead of being annoyed, Leo chuckled and said, “Bucky, lean your head over a sec.”

“What for?” Although perplexed, Bucky still walked over to Leo’s side and lowered his head.

Leo took out a fingernail-sized circular chip from his belt and gently attached it to the back of Bucky’s right ear. The tiny chip’s official name was “Kimoyo Chip,” a remote controller developed by the Wakandans specifically for the “Kimoyo Beads.” However, he renamed it the “Marvel Band Controller.”

At a young age, the Wakandans would undergo minor surgery to implant the Kimoyo Chip onto the skull behind the right ear. This allowed the chip to connect with the cranial nerves, enabling the use of intracranial electrical signals to effortlessly control the Kimoyo Beads on the wrist. Otherwise, the Kimoyo Beads, which appeared to be mere glass beads without even a button, would struggle to just switch on.

Naturally, the Kimoyo Chip could only process and recognize simplified intracranial signals, much less sophisticated than the Intracranial Transmission Technology. It could only transmit simple commands.

Nevertheless, precisely because the signals transmitted by the Kimoyo Chip were simple, it caused no side effects. It wouldn’t go berserk and attempt to devour the user’s mind. 

When Leo learned the blueprint of the Kimoyo Beads during his trip to Wakanda, he also learned the blueprint of the Kimoyo Chip. Regardless, Wakanda’s current technology was relatively primitive since the brilliant Princess Shuri had yet to blossom.

But the combination of voice and fingerprint recognition made operating the Marvel Band incredibly convenient. But it wasn’t up to Leo’s standard as an expert technologist.

After two nights’ worth of contemplation, he finally made a groundbreaking improvement based on the Kimoyo Chip design that incorporated the Intracranial Transmission Technology and the chip inside Bucky’s brain. He created an ‘external-use’ Marvel Band Controller.

If the user wished, the controller could be removed at any time. This way, individuals like Bucky, who had the ‘phobia of chip implantation,’ would feel more at ease.

Viewing from another perspective, since Leo successfully came up with the Marvel Band Controller, it meant that, after multiple enhancements, his intelligence and creativity were on par with geniuses like Shuri!

The Vibranium core inside the controller began to provide energy, releasing a weak electric current that connected with Bucky’s brain nerves.

After removing his hand, Leo watched as Bucky curiously touched the Marvel Band Controller behind his right ear and asked, “What’s this?”

“That is the Marvel Band Controller. It’s similar to the glowing blue thing implanted in the skin behind the right ear of the Wakandans. You’ve been hanging around in Wakanda for quite a while, so you should have seen it.”

Of course, Bucky had seen it. The number of Wakandans using Kimoyo Beads was equivalent to the number of people using smartphones before Leo’s transmigration. It would be strange if Bucky hadn’t seen it.

The next moment, the bracelet indeed enlarged slightly, and Bucky quickly slid it onto his wrist before muttering to himself again, “Band, shrink down, shrink down. Fit perfectly!”

The bracelet obeyed and changed its shape, fitting perfectly to his wrist, with the right amount of tightness. He couldn’t help but burst into laughter, “Great! I, Bucky, am a genius!”
