Feeling the full force of Peter’s strike, Leo instantly felt his forearms broken and throbbing with pain and numbness. Moreover, his back crashed into the tough Vibranium wall, causing intense pain.

Although Natasha acted swiftly, cradling Leo in her arms before he hit the ground, the tingling sensation in his body didn’t subside even a bit. After all, his injuries were concentrated in his forearms and back, while the rest of his body was unharmed. He still could move, so he wouldn’t sustain further injuries even if he fell to the ground.

But what was this sudden embrace?

Natasha’s unexpected hug left Leo in an awkward position. 

It was just his forearms and back injured, not to the brink of death, so there wasn’t any need for everyone to gather around and inquire so intimately.

He tried to stand up but failed. 

‘Tsk, Natasha’s grip is tight!’

With no choice, he had to speak up. He first reassured the visibly distressed Peter, “I’m fine, Peter. It’s just numbness in my forearms. No broken bones, just a minor injury.”

Then, he patted Natasha’s shoulder and added, “And Natasha, please release your grip. Peter didn’t break my bones, but you were close to squeezing the life out of me.”

Upon hearing this, Natasha hurriedly let go of him. Finally, he stood up and moved his arms and waist to relieve the pain. He took a moment to carefully examine his forearms’ bones. It was fortunate that he received extra enhancement from Lilith in Wakanda not long ago. Otherwise, Peter’s punch certainly would fracture his bones!

Next, relying on his exceptional body control and mental strength, he discovered that the capillaries in the subcutaneous tissues of his forearms were ruptured, resulting in some bruising. Additionally, there was minor damage to the muscles in his arms. But the injury on his back was superficial, merely a scratch.

A subtle flow of Mechanical Force surged as he quietly activated his recently acquired skill, “Mechanical Force – Recovery”, and the restorative effect began to take effect. The soreness in his back vanished instantly while the pain and numbness in his forearms were greatly reduced. He felt a warm sensation spreading through his forearms, indicating that the injuries were gradually healing.

In just a fraction of a minute, he noticed that the bruising on his arms had dissipated, leaving only a slight soreness in the muscles. Besides, he felt that if he continued to use “Mechanical Force – Recovery”, his entire arms would be fully restored within an hour.

The recovery effect of the “Mechanical Force – Recovery” was truly astonishing!

Despite he knew he was fine, the others were still concerned, particularly Natasha. Witnessing him being sent flying and crashing into the wall had deeply distressed her.

“Are you really okay? Let me take a look,” she insisted.

“Mr. Erwin, maybe we should get it check,” Peter chimed in, expressing his concern. Even Bucky joined in.

In the end, Leo couldn’t resist their insistence and rolled up his sleeve, revealing his muscular arm. “Look, there’s not a single bruise on my arms. I’m fine!”

Pulling his sleeve down, he continued, “I’m the one who can effortlessly take down Bucky. If it were him, he wouldn’t have been affected by Peter’s punch either, let alone me.”

The corner of Bucky’s lips twitched as he was unable to refute. He would have to bide his time and find an opportunity to redeem himself later.

Leo then complimented Peter, “While you, young man, have impressive strength!”

Peter chuckled sheepishly, scratching his head, “Actually, I only used half of my strength.”

The group fell into silence, each at a loss for words.

Steam, too, had gathered around and after confirming its brilliant and wise master was unharmed, its eyes flickered, “Buzz! Erwin Tech Company’s First Martial Arts Tournament’s current champion is Spider-Man, Peter! Does Daredevil, Matt, wish to stand forth and continue the challenge?”

“No, no,” Matt immediately waved his hand, having remained silent on the sideline. His heightened senses allowed him to discern the power behind Peter’s punch just now. It was at least ten tonnes. And according to Peter, that was only half of his strength.

Matt was just a small man and knew his limitations all too well. Although his body had recently been enhanced by the herb, he still couldn’t withstand half of Peter’s strength.

Hearing Matt willingly concede, Steam cheerfully announced, “Buzz! As the commentator-slash-referee, Steam declares Spider-Man, Peter as the undisputed champion of Erwin Tech Company’s First Martial Arts Tournament! And the runner-up, the brilliant and wise Master!”

“Hey, what about the second runner-up?” Bucky hurriedly asked.

“Buzz! The second runner-up isn’t worth mentioning.”

BANG!

Steam’s head was struck once again and this time it was by a metal fist.

Fueled by indignation, Steam engaged in a heated dispute with Bucky, seemingly looking down on the second runner-up and believing it could hold its own against Bucky. Yet, it was effortlessly subdued by Bucky.

“Buzz! It’s Steam’s physique that limits its true power, not inferiority to you, Bucky! Steam has mastered Eastern martial arts through online learning and can give Bucky a run for his money!” Defeated, Steam continued to boast defiantly while being held by Bucky.

After a noisy argument between them, they finally quieted down with Leo’s intervention.

Following his suggestion, the group changed back into their clothes and made their way to the lounge, where they settled on the couches.

Leo announced, “There’s something I need to address.”

Everyone in the room perked up their ears and focused their attention. As individuals whom Leo trusted and understood, he proceeded to recount the strange and cryptic words he had shared with Natasha in outer space a few days ago, presenting it in a slightly different manner for the rest of the group.

Natasha was already aware while Bucky had mentally prepared himself. So after hearing his words, they had no objections and readily agreed. However, Peter and Matt wore expressions of clear conflict on their faces.

Not waiting for their reply, Leo stated, “Peter, you have Aunt May and Mary Jane to take care of, so you don’t have to come with us to space. And Matt, now that Heather is pregnant, you can’t leave either.”

Both Matt and Peter visibly heaved a sigh of relief when they heard Leo’s words If Leo had insisted that they join the adventure in space, they truly didn’t know how to make such a decision.

Fortunately, Mr. Erwin was a reasonable person and every word he spoke struck a chord in their hearts.

“However, even though the two of you won’t be going to space, staying on Earth doesn’t mean your tasks will be any easier,” Leo stated, clearing his throat before continuing, “After Natasha, Bucky and I depart, the responsibility of managing Erwin Tech Company will officially fall into your hands. You must run it well, as it represents our collective efforts. And as I mentioned earlier, while we may be visitors in space, Earth is our only true home. So, you must protect our home. According to Lilith, the universe isn’t a place of peaceful development. On the contrary, it’s filled with numerous dangers and someday Earth may face a deadly crisis. So we need to develop rapidly to acquire the strength to confront our enemies.”

Of course, his final remarks were specifically directed at Peter. It was crucial to ignite Peter’s sense of responsibility, encouraging him to strive continuously.

As he had just mentioned, with his departure, Erwin Tech Company would still require someone to manage it, and Peter, with his strong sense of duty, was the perfect candidate. Peter was the successor that he favored.

Moreover, he needed a safe base, so it was important to keep Peter and Matt, who had other obligations, and motivate them to work towards building Erwin Tech Company.

Seeing Leo express his thoughts until this stage, Peter and Matt felt honored. They responded in unison, “You can trust us, Mr. Erwin. We won’t betray your trust.”
