Chapter 265 The Tales Of A Self-Studying Pilot

TL: Kyous

Ten thousand meters…

Twenty thousand meters…

Soon, Leo reached the geostationary orbit of Earth. With the armor, he decelerated and achieved a uniform circular motion around the planet, entering a state of weightlessness.

After undergoing a thorough diagnosis, Steam reminded Leo that everything was ready, “Buzz! Designated location reached. You may proceed with the deployment of Erwin SatCom 1, Master.”

Retrieving Erwin SatCom 1 from his belt, Leo enlarged it to the size of his palm and let it float in front of him. With a gentle pulse from his Anti-gravity Pulse Blasters, he drifted away from his original position and used his Mechanical Force to establish a connection with the satellite’s intelligent chip.

BOOM!

Akin to a suddenly inflated balloon, Erwin SatCom 1, weighing a hefty 2.87 tons, revealed its true size. Right after, the shield generator activated and caused the satellite to vanish from Leo’s vision gradually.

“Buzz! Steam has connected to Erwin SatCom 1. SatCom 1 is undergoing self-diagnostics… Self-diagnostic completed. SatCom 1 is good to go.”

Lo and behold, Leo finally had his first satellite under his thumb.

Speaking of which, the geostationary orbit was a fascinating place, and the Pym Particles were truly extraordinary. As he was rotating at the constant speed as the Earth, he retrieved a satellite of matching rotational speed from his belt and enlarged it and its rotational speed remained constant.

Since he was in geostationary orbit, he took out a spaceship from his belt and enlarged it, letting the spaceship effortlessly float in space.

Gazing at the seemingly motionless giant spaceship before him, he swiftly entered the ship’s cockpit and activated its space life support system and gravity generator before removing Viper Mark IX.

Soaring through space in his armor and observing outer space from within a spaceship felt totally different.

Currently, Leo stood steadily inside the spaceship while gazing out into the vastness of outer space through the glass. All of a sudden, he felt that he was an alien that was visiting Earth. As he shook his head, he got rid of the weird thoughts in his mind.

Confidently striding forwards, he settled himself firmly into the pilot’s seat and felt an inexplicable excitement welling up inside him.

It was his first time piloting a spaceship, so it was natural for him to feel a bit nervous.

Fastening the seat belt and putting on his leather gloves, he tightly gripped the steering wheel and smoothly maneuvered through the gears, brakes, and clutch. Seamlessly!

Accelerate!

Of course, all of the above actions were just nonsense.

There weren’t any brakes or clutch on the spaceship. Instead, there was a control panel with a sea of buttons in front of Leo along with a gear lever on his left and a joystick on his right. There indeed were pedals beneath the pilot’s seat, but unless one wanted to engage in some fancy driving, they were rarely stepped on.

Frankly speaking, Leo knew how to build a spaceship. He knew the functions of each button on the control panel. He knew how to operate the gear lever and the joystick.

However, he had no idea how to pilot a spaceship. He might even be better at shooting down spaceships rather than actually piloting one.

So, what he needed was practice. Besides, he wasn’t worried about crashing the spaceship into the satellites all because of “Mechanical Force – Relay.” If he ever lost control of the spaceship, he could simply connect his mind to the spaceship’s operating system and pilot it with his mind.

Therefore, he didn’t have to worry about any “shipwrecks” during his practice sessions. So, instead of a couple of years, he could become an excellent pilot in mere a couple of days. On top of that, if he was using his thoughts to operate the spaceship, he would become a truly seasoned pilot.

Nonetheless, over the past two and a half days, he had cranked the spaceship’s sensors to the max and circled multiple potential Earth orbits yet he couldn’t locate Mar-Vell’s lab.

Undeterred and with a spirit of never giving up…

He wasted an additional half-day.

The allocated three days for the search had now passed, leaving him with no choice but to reluctantly give up and steer the ship back home.

Returning to Erwin Research Center, he beelined to the fifth floor of the building and entered the room filled with heart-shaped herbs. There, he found a bed of flourishing heart-shaped herbs, with four blossoms standing out in vibrant beauty and emitting a faint sweet aroma.

It was January 10, 1995, at precisely 9:30 AM.

Leo pulled out his phone and made three calls, one after another.

Right after, he plucked a heart-shaped herb and took out his Vibranium mortar and pestle, and added a small amount of mineral water before finely grinding the herb. Once it was ground to perfection, he downed it in one gulp.

Licking his lips, he muttered, “The Mountain Valley Spring Water. A bit sweet.”

Soon after, a warm current surged from his stomach and spread throughout his body. Simultaneously, his exposed skin radiated a faint blue glow that disappeared after five or six minutes.

Closing his eyes and sensing his physical condition, he felt an upgrade in his constitution and mental state. He truly had become someone capable of repeatedly consuming the herb!

As the clock ticked, a voice sounded in his ears after an hour later. It was Steam’s voice, “Buzz! Mr. Barnes, Miss Romanoff, and Mr. Murdock have arrived at the entrance of the Marvel Base, Master.”

“Got it.” Leo pulled out his phone again and called Peter, urging him to hurry over.

Ten minutes later, four of them gathered in the lounge on the fifth floor of the Erwin Research Center.

Whoosh!

The automatic door released a faint sound as Leo entered with three bowls of liquid floating in midair.

At the sight of the three bowls of liquid, Bucky instantly knew what Leo was up to. In a good mood, Bucky joked with Leo, “Huh, you’re a pretty good juggler, Leo.”

Without even bothering to roll his eyes at Bucky, Leo arranged the three bowls of liquid in a line and placed them on the table.

“Is this what you were talking about?” Natasha looked thoughtful and Leo nodded in reply.

Curious as always, the lively and talkative Peter asked, “What’s this? The bowls are sparkling and pretty.”

Meanwhile, Matt in his sunglasses, sat silently on the couch while silently listening.

“This is a potion made from the ground heart-shaped herbs. Its effects are similar to the Super Soldier Serum that Captain America had. It can enhance the body.” Leo explained. Waving his hand, the three pure Vibranium bowls landed steadily in front of the trio.

“I’ll explain the rest later, For now, drink it,” Leo instructed.

Without hesitation, the trio reached for the bowls and raised them to their lips.

“Wait!” The ignored Bucky abruptly cried out, startling the others.

Naturally, the others faced Bucky with a pair of confused eyes. While he didn’t mind the others’ confusion, Leo was looking at him confusedly too, which left Bucky scratching his head.

Regardless, he persisted, “Before drinking it, you all need to remove your shirts, lie down on the ground and bury yourselves in the sand.”

He shared his experience and Natasha’s confused gaze turned furious, even emitting a hint of hostility. Since his senses had been enhanced, he keenly noticed this and immediately raised up his hands to Leo and said, “Isn’t that right? That’s how we took it back then!”

The trio who were about to drink the potion shifted their confused gazes towards Leo.

“Don’t listen to Bucky’s nonsense,” Leo added, “If this was the herbs’ original habitat, then yes. Burying yourself while drinking the potion will amplify its effects. But here, it doesn’t matter if you’re buried or not. So just drink it directly. You may feel some slight pain, but endure it for a bit, it’ll pass quickly.”

Compared to the unreliable Bucky, everyone naturally trusted Leo more. They all titled their heads back and gulped down the potion. As soon as they drank the potion, they instantly had a reaction. The most apparent reaction was the bluish-purple glow from their skin, emanating from within.

“Hmm… It stings a bit,” Matt, with the weakest body, experienced the effects of the enhancement first.

“Lie down, take a deep breath, and close your eyes to feel it carefully,” Leo whispered, providing guidance. Matt obediently lay down on the floor and began to breathe rhythmically.
