Chapter 213 Vibranium Upgrade

In a brightly-lit basement, two individuals were chatting while working.

Well, Bucky wasn’t much help, having only to snag a couch from Leo and sit idly by, The only one truly busy was Leo.

Leo was incredibly fast at dismantling things, and in no time at all, he had disassembled the brainwashing device. Taking out three Forwarding Boxes from his Storage Belt, he neatly sorted all the various components into them before stowing away his belt.

“Alright Bucky, I’m off. I’ll probably be staying at Marvel Base for the next few days. If you need me, you can head to Erwin Research Center or give me a call,” Leo said before shrinking himself down and disappearing from the basement.

Seeing Leo leave, Bucky pondered for a bit and realized he still had nothing to do. Although he would be joining Leo on an adventure to Wakanda, he was still incredibly bored right now. With a sigh, he headed upstairs to continue playing games on his Daimi phone.

Besides, he roughly counted the time and thought about inviting his two disciples to hit the streets of New York with him the next Saturday night and fight crime.

The PBM Trio hadn’t been active on the streets of New York for a while now and God knows where Leo learned the nickname and placed Bucky’s initials in the middle.

‘I, Bucky, am the leader of this team, alright? It should definitely start with the letter B!’

Flying along the predetermined path, Leo landed directly on the ninth floor of Erwin Research Center, which housed his main lab and bedroom. It was also where Steam’s main body was located.

“Buzz! Welcome back, master.” Steam greeted Leo with a pair of shiny red eyes.

Leo found Steam’s round head and short legs to be visually pleasing and he hadn’t changed its appearance despite two years having passed. The treads and carousel eyes were still there. But, various components inside Steam had been upgraded and replaced by him many times, greatly increasing its overall performance.

Moreover, due to the prolonged exposure to his Mechanical Force, Steam’s self-evolving ability became stronger over time. Its computing power increased more than five times compared to a year ago and its intelligence was not inferior to that of an ordinary adult.

He believed that if Steam continued to grow, its capabilities would be on par with J.A.R.V.I.S. and F.R.I.D.A.Y. in the future. Even if Iron Man created Ultron again, it would still be inferior!

Since it was still early, and Leo wasn’t hungry, he started working right away. Taking out several tubes of Vibranium from his Storage Belt, he placed them on the workbench.

“Steam, let’s get to work.”

“Buzz!” Steam revved over, and simultaneously, the multiple display screen on the workbench was turned on by it.

“New project, Viper Mark VIII. Import Viper Mark VII’s model. Objective, replace the armor’s outer shell with Vibranium and construct Vibranium energy cores in all major components of the armor.”

Since there was now ample Vibranium, Leo decided to indulge himself and give the entire suit a comprehensive upgrade. 

This way, the trip to Wakanda would be much safer. After all, Wakandan weapons mostly relied on Vibranium as an energy core, making them more powerful than conventional firearms or cold weapons.

His original suit was only coated with a thin layer of Vibranium protective film, which may not be enough to withstand Wakanda’s powerful weapons.

“Creating the project. Importing model. Automatically simulating Vibranium energy core model…”

“Simulation complete, combining…”

“Combination complete. The Viper Mark VIII model has been created. Please proceed to fine-tune.”

As Leo’s mind wandered, Steam had already completed the model and displayed it on the computer screen on the workbench. He moved the mouse and carefully examined the armor’s model, making some minor adjustments until he was happy with it.

“Show me the rendering,” Leo instructed Steam.

“Buzz!”

The semi-transparent Viper Mark VIII immediately became opaque, displaying its true colors through the software simulation. It was still blackish-brown in color but with a scale-like pattern and slightly lighter shade that gave it a visually striking appearance. The helmet, in particular, was extremely cool and imposing, evoking a sense of awe.

The armor’s exterior structure was perfectly proportioned to the human body, showcasing a fashionable and stylish design that immediately caught Leo’s eye and won him over. Its appearance was settled!

Staring at the monitor, Leo began to stroke his chin, lost in thought.

With the entire outer shell of the armor now made of Vibranium, he knew that once he put on Viper Mark VIII, his defensive capabilities would become almost unparalleled. So he started to contemplate whether he should equip the armor with more offensive capabilities.

However, Viper Mark VII already had a wide range of attack methods, including energy cannons and the Mutated Spider Silk for long-range attacks, as well as various disposable hot weapons. For close combat, it had electrotherapy and was capable of hand-to-hand combat.

If Leo shut his eyes to endure nausea, he could even shrink down and charge at full speed, smashing through any carbon-based lifeforms with his iron head. He believed that his current physical strength was far from being able to withstand this highly compressed “bullet”.

But having more attack methods would allow him to show off more to the enemy, and no one would complain about having too many attack methods. Unless they were really bad at using them…

All of a sudden, a flash of inspiration hit Leo!

In the Ant-Man movie, Hank Pym created a one-time use Pym Particles disc for Scott Lang that could enlarge or shrink objects. It seemed rather interesting!

Leo wondered if it could be modified to directly shoot at a person, shrinking them instantly. If possible, then he believed he would be invincible!

Just imagine the scene of the H.Y.D.R.A. army charging at him, but he fired a Pym Particles missile that exploded in the midst of the enemy. Regardless of the missile’s destructiveness, any enemy who came into contact with the Pym Particles would shrink to the size of ants…

Thinking of this, Leo figured that it was essential to develop a similar weapon. Who knows when it might come in handy?

But since he was wearing the armor, throwing a disc wouldn’t work, so planned to modify the weapon into a bullet or a beam or something similar. With that in mind, he quickly had Steam create a new project and got to work on it.
